psychotic

Avatar f tn My Mom, Brother, me, my beautiful daughter Kai, we all have Bi-polar. My Dad suffers from severe depression that is slowly crippling him. His Mother fought her own silent battle with a form of mental issues. My boys have a different Dad & so I pray it wasn't/isn't passed to them!!
2052200 tn?1332429084 Hi, I need to know what to do about the visual and audio hallucinations I have been experiencing. From 7 to around 10 years old, I experienced visual, audio and tactile hallucinations (hearing the piano playing in the middle of the night, feeling bugs crawling all over me, seeing the ceiling falling down, seeing letters all over the walls etc). My mother just thought it was night terrors and didn't do anything about it as they stopped when I was about 10.
Avatar f tn It is worse when she gets upset. Reading is almost impossible because she says the letters are moving, worse on the computer. I don't know if this is a new developing symptom, a med side affect or what? Does anyone have similar symptoms?
Avatar f tn I had seen a post by ILADVOCATE about a study he participated in and recovered from schizoafffective disorder. I did read that psychotic symptoms in SD may persist and felt maybe this is what my daughter is.Maybe ILADVOCATE can tell me more about this and the antipsychotic he was on. I have read that glycine helps the MNDR(I may have these letters mixed up) receptors function better and may help psychosis. Where can I get more information about glycine therapy and will medicaid pay for it?
Avatar m tn s the world, but she keeps everything very secretive - from family and from her doctor! I hope that your son gets a good psychiatrist, because counseling/therapy is so-o important, just as important as the proper medication! If you need someone to chat with just message me! I wish you the very best ... take care!
607502 tn?1288247540 I identified I am fully recovered from glycine a Phase II anti-psychotic in FDA study from schizoaffective disorder. And there are treatments in study for bipolar disorder as well. Here's a link that updates itself: http://www.psychmeds123.info/ I would suggest what I do.
Avatar m tn My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?
Avatar f tn Do all people with bipolar or any other mental illnesses suffer from a breakdown? I for one never had one. I was speaking to a social worker and he told me in my case it may because I have the support or maybe I have some sort of control that enables me to make it pass the days. He also seem surprise because I am not on meds. I told him they bring on any attacks and make them worst. So I just been going on a day to day basis.
Avatar f tn I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
Avatar f tn My son of 14 have gone away from home from me to my ex husband, his father. That would not be a problem except that his father is a case of diagnosed borderline syndrome with frequent brief psychotic states who is not taking a therapy and is about every two years in psych. ward for acute prolonged psychotic episodes.my son is not aware of his mental problems and is completely noncritical about his father and is taking without questioning every idea his father is proposing on him.
12268405 tn?1427853361 Hello Tanner! Sorry it has taken so long for someone to reply to you. While you have posted in the Depression forum, you actually might try the Schizophrenia forum, because the hallmark of that disorder is hearing voices. This can create paranoia, depression, and confused thinking. Clozapine and Minocycline (Mino is new) are the very best drugs to take for your condition.
Avatar f tn Anyone please any insight would help me understand what is going on. I should say I can't have any feedback from my husbands Psychiatrist or psychologist because he has not authorized them to speak to me (so all I can do is to call in form time to time to give updates on his mood, but I get no feedback from them!). For the past 2 months my husband who was diagnosed 4 months ago with BP has been gradually feeling better with Depakote and Risperdal.
Avatar m tn I can understand how you must feel as my husband was on methadone and began to go psychotic. He is now off methadone as he could not control the hallucinations and dreams that he got from it. I do not have an answer for you, only my sympathy. The lamictal is used as a mood stabilizer and should help keep you from going manic.Maybe ILAD can give you the name of a pharmopsychologist to talk to you and help you. You are indeed in no mans land.
Avatar n tn She is 20 years old and in college. Today she told me she felt like she was having a psychotic breakdown. What is this kind of breakdown?
Avatar f tn Many of you know my story. Husband diagnosed 11 months ago with BP, had a Major Manic Episode (tried to commit suicide), Psychotic/Paranoid for at least 3 months. Was on meds (Risperdal and Depakote) for only 6 months and abruptly stopped. Taking no meds now. He left home 1 months ago. He wanted to separate and there was nothing his family and I could do!
Avatar n tn He is having problems recognizing his letters and numbers. The teacher keeps telling me how behind he is and that he will probably be retained. They keep telling me that he is young and that it would not hurt him to hold him back. I don't feel comfortable with this. I want to blame myself for the fact that I don't feel that I have worked with him enough. His is my fourth child and we have so much going on all the time.
Avatar n tn 5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. These attacks which I thought where TIA"s (Transient ischaemic attacks) mini strokes if you like proved otherwise..
Avatar f tn m very distrusting of doctors mind you.) Can anyone tell me from experience if they look at the possibility of personality disorders like BPD while evaluating for bipolar disorder? I'll definitely ask the doctor, but I'm just so paranoid that I'll be misdiagnosed again and BPD and bipolar do have a lot in common. I know I should just be patient and ask the doctor when my appointment gets here but I'm just going crazy over this I think.
1965148 tn?1354978634 can anyone share their experiences with psychotic mania or bipolar with psychotic features? i have no idea where mine are heading but they are here, and they are not backing down.
Avatar f tn At the risk of sounding corny, you could keep in touch by letters. I know emails are the thing but letters are just so much more personal. You two can keep in touch via the phone and text messages. You can also make arrangements to meet up.
144586 tn?1284666164 The Federal Government has established a "no buy" list called the NICS list. Whenever you attempt to purchase a firearm the dealer is supposed to call a number and consult this list. Once on the list you can never ever purchase or own a firearm. There was supposedly a procedure to do so, but it was never funded. The penalty for this is seven years in the federal slammer, as one vet found when he had a single shot shotgun in his possession after being on the list.
284738 tn?1283106819 Teachers could attest to what kind of a student you were and the fact that you have the smarts, drive and detemination to finish and become a good Nurse. If you are in the Nursing field now then one from a Teacher and one from a current management person would be the best IMO. Good luck and congrads on going back.
Avatar m tn During this Non-Psychotic episode I was put on Lamotrigine 200mg , Oxcarbazepine 600mg, clonazepam 2mg, citalopram 20 mg daily, This works just ok, but not 100% satisfactory for depression and also bcoz any kind of stress / anxiety tends to throw me into a psychotic state even while taking these medicines.
654038 tn?1326302599 I did make him feel bad cause i got him something and he didnt get me anything. I told him all i wanted was my letters that i was supposed to get from back in Feburary. And i just feel a little out of things these days. Its getting closer and im getting more nervous. I read about you having to go into surgery. That must of sucked. I hate surgery. Well actually i have never had it. I try and stay away from that.
Avatar f tn He received the clear mri report from the hospital. And he got annoyed that I have an evoked potential coming up. He told me to accept that the doctors knew better than me, that there was no way it was anything BUT somatization disorder. He told me to hang on to my form and come back and see him when I believed in the diagnosis I got. I asked him what he would do if it were his wife or child. He was angry with me. I said fine leave it as somatization disorder then.
Avatar f tn ILADVOCATE is right about the blood work. Before I was diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, they tested me for all kinds of crap like with MRIs and tests for syphilis and blood deficiencies and such.
Avatar f tn she will be all happy at first then every hour or so she changes, if you touch her she will grab a knife and she will say STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU ALIEN!!
