5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. These attacks which I thought where TIA"s (Transient ischaemic attacks) mini strokes if you like proved otherwise..
Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown.
However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well.
And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.
my 22 year old son just experienced a psychotic break. I need to understand how he was feeling. Is there anyone who has personally experienced this, and would be willing to describe what you felt? I am desperate to understand what he is going through.
Why is he still your boyfriend? Take your power back girl! I understand you not wanting to live with your parents but it cannot be as bad as your current situation. You are not his dog! You need to find out what it is that attracts you to nothing but bad boys and hopefully before someone hurts you really bad.
If you are psychotic then you have a lot of company here. This doctor has outlived his usefulness to you, no matter what. It is totally unprofessional for him to take it personally that you are getting other consultations. He has absolutely no right to get angry. His emotions don't come into the equation at all. He is entitled not to treat you anymore if he doesn't like your actions or words, but that's as far as it goes.
I know this girl who is crazy!!! she will be all happy at first then every hour or so she changes, if you touch her she will grab a knife and she will say STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU ALIEN!!
That would not be a problem except that his father is a case of diagnosed borderline syndrome with frequent brief psychotic states who is not taking a therapy and is about every two years in psych. ward for acute prolonged psychotic episodes.my son is not aware of his mental problems and is completely noncritical about his father and is taking without questioning every idea his father is proposing on him.
I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?

I was able to recover from schizoaffective disorder with experimental treatment and now I live with severe tardive dyskinesia which is much harder to treat but I am finding treatment that has mitigated it. I think of myself as living with a disability. If its genetic it might be inherited but many people have recovered from bipolar or depression. If you find the right medications, therapy and support from people it is something people can recover from and learn to live with.
It could also take some time to find the medication which is right for her because not every medication works the same and as effectively for every single person but chances are that one of them will work for her eventually. It could be bipolar disorder with psychotic features like ILADVOCATE said or some psychotic disorder since 120 conditions can have psychosis as a symptom.
I have had only 1 mild paranoid event during mania that came years after my first recognized mania, so I obviously DO NOT understand psychotic features of BP at all. But my ex-husband has had many psychotic events. He has Bipolar Disorder w/ psychotic features. He has gone into psychosis many times, and is extremely paranoid. Depakoate is a mood stabilizer. Zoloft is an anti-depressent. Seroquel is an antipsychotic and I believe by psychiatric standards that is a subclinical dose (when I was on it 300 mg. was where it started working). Not sure what "the pill to calm her nerves" is? You mean an anti-anxiety medication? Although only a psychiatrist can determine medication dosages and which medication to use I'd suggest you inform yourself.
As a bipolar 1, on no meds, I know the feeling of guilt and shame that comes with acting crazy around people. Mostly, I tend to go off in the mountains, but sometimes, I have done some pretty embarrassing things. My psychotic break was about 18 months ago now. It took a good year to fully recover. I so relate to you saying that you "thought" you were doing better, but were likely still manic or affected by your break or bipolar.

I now know I always had behavior that was unusual and somewhat abnormal since I was a child, first started having psychotic thoughts when I was 13 and then at the age of 18 had a full psychotic break. I never really felt like myself until I started that treatment in clinical study but once I did could look back and see that I always had behavior patterns and obsessions that were markedly abnormal.
Your son needs to talk to someone. Open a dialogue with him that does not threaten, intimidate, or embarrass him. At his age this is difficult. Is he in therapy as well as getting lall these meds? If so speak to his therapist about what your son's told you privately. Explain that your son may not be willing to speak of his "seeing people" but that you are worried about him being psyhotic. You are worried about him being psychotic, aren't you?
Do canker sores and fevers come back like this if your are infected? What are your thoughts? I am sure the second girl is negative because I took her to do a test 1 month after the break. The first I am pretty sure judging from my multiple visits to her to check her health card and speaking with her. I dont know though. Please help me! I also took all STD tests besides the HIV when I was back home , and took every test while I was in Ecuador weeks after the incidents and all was negative.
