My ferret has 2 bumps on his body I can not identify. The first one appeared last fall - started as what looked like an insect bite - but grew - looks like a small cyst - round, pink in color. When my ferret scratches it, it will weep and bleed some. This lump is about an inch behind his right shoulder. My ferret is still acting like his normal self - eats fine, drinking water, plays, runs, all the ususal ferret behaviors.
I have a 2 year old ferret. She is well trained, behaved & an all around good pet. I have even gotten compliments from the veterinarian telling me how well behaved she is. I'm currently 18 weeks & growing day by day it feels like. I know when I get to my third trimester I'm probably not going to want to bend over and pick her up anymore but that's not the problem. Because she is not a basic animal and more of an exotic one, she requires more attention.

I was treated for chlamydia a while ago and while I still had chlamydia my ferret got into my garbage and played with one of my tampon applicators I used before treatment. He bit into it quite a bit. Could my chlamydia have been transmitted to him? Can chlamydia even live on a tampon applicator?
So we had our degu in a ball when the ferrets were running around, and a couple hours later our degu somehow got out of his ball and the ferret cornered him and bit him on top of the head, behind the ear, its been almost 3 days now, he does want to run but is stuck turning to the right, he has been eating somedays, and somedays he has not. What am I able to do to help him heal correctly.
My ferret was sleeping a lot and not playing. His nose went white and we noticed he had an enlarged organ. The vet put him on antibiotics for 10 days. He was still going to the bathroom, eating and drinking although not nearly as much so I had to give him water with a syringe. After the 10 days the swelling went down and he was starting to walk around. The vet gave more antibiotics. That night he wasn't acting any different. I gave him his pill and he had a seizure. He never had one before.
Your call either way You need to stop and ferret out the real reasons you are doing this in the first place and deal with them. I wish you a full recovery.
my 22 year old son just experienced a psychotic break. I need to understand how he was feeling. Is there anyone who has personally experienced this, and would be willing to describe what you felt? I am desperate to understand what he is going through.
5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. These attacks which I thought where TIA"s (Transient ischaemic attacks) mini strokes if you like proved otherwise..
Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown.
However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well.
And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.
I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?

I think they are in the same drug class, I've taken both with the similar results. As I recall, I was changed from lipitor to simvastatin because simvastatin isn't as strong a statin because of some very strong congestive heart meds that impact the liver and kidneys. Factors that can change liver functions include weight gain, alcohol consumption, exercise levels and diet, so it takes a health professional, which I'm not, to ferret out cause for blood test changes.
Perhaps it's 3 lines of platinum related chemo? Please, dear readers, I'm making this up, son don't take it to heart. I just read something like that & am trying to ferret it out.
