Avatar n tn The thing is, i have been put on almost all of known anit seizure medications, none seem tobe as effective as it should be, i beleive at one time i was close to depression while on depakot, then i met a specialist who then put me on Zonegran, it worked for a couple years or so, then i moved to Las Vegas back in 03, it started again inspite the drugs, perhaps a combonation of stress, and lack of sleep could be the cause of it all?

Avatar f tn I had my first episode at 14, realized it was bipolar at 20, and finally took medication this year, at 42. I am BP1, and lived my life around the disorder and still felt it progress to a psychotic breakdown. I would say that as my body aged and couldn't recover from severe episodes, it got way worse for me. The moods I could handle, the craziness of starting over was what really wore me down. The mania of BP1 is really the destroyer.
Avatar m tn d look at if it is a medication issue first, poor sleep habits second, and sleep disorder on top of things third. Or a manifestation of whatever disorder you have that causes you to take those two meds. Let us know! I'll be following.

Avatar f tn If she has concerns she should talk to her doctor. I personally would put it down to the stress of the situation (lack of sleep, poor nutrition, emotional stress, etc). I think that similar stressors should be approached with caution for future reference. Not sure whether those symptoms would indicate that someone is predisposed to bipolar though. It will be interesting to read the expert's response.
Avatar f tn m experiencing episodes of breathing difficulties. Not the typical asthma type though inhalers work. Each major episode started at night and lasted 6-2 weeks. I wake up with a feeling of being totally out of breath and the air lacks oxygen. It's difficult to exhale with the normal day-to-day breathing, but no problem with a bit more force. Still, it feels like the air lacks oxygen. My breathing always stops somewhere at exhaling and I actively have to breath again.
Avatar f tn Am asking myself if my lack of need to drink - can be quite happy with one coffee, and 1 tea, 1 small milk per day - could be an autonomic dysfunction. I know fluids are important but just cannot remember to drink more. At 80 I am pronounced as remarkably fit (apart from usual arthritic degenerations) but have had one recent episode of arrythmia on returning to bed after night-time bathroom visit.
Avatar n tn 5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. These attacks which I thought where TIA"s (Transient ischaemic attacks) mini strokes if you like proved otherwise..

222267 tn?1253302210 I know of a couple of BP folks that don't cycle between the two quickly, there is time in between, and much less because both are on good meds. I'm BP2, rapid cycler - BUT since I'm on a good dose of meds especially my MS, I can actually have hypomanic times which are productive, and I don't crash into depression anymore, well at least since October. I was diagnosed in Aug, so I think that's pretty good.
Avatar f tn Im having lack of sleep. I think i have always had insomnia for some reason. They say you sleep alot while pregnant but i feel as though my partner sleeps even more than i ever could. Im jealous of that actually. Im currently 4 months and also feel kinda sickly.. like a headache that wont go away. Body aches from sex as well. Maybe i should lay off.. anyone have any suggestions ? I hate feeling crummy !
