They used to being little children with no cares in the world, being supervised at all times, and feeling like the center of attention, to now wanting more independence, people having bigger expectations of them, and having responsibilities like chores, schoolwork, social relationships, and manners. on Atenolol 25mg bid , His is hight and weight 95% for age, He had last episode yesterday while playing football in school, for about 5 minute and aborted spontenously. My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Since Wellbutin, Lamictal and Topaxax all have the same side effects of anxiety,hyperactivity,insomnia, mood swings why use them to treat a manic episode, especially a severe one? My Psych. has me on all three, plus Klonopin, am not getting anybetter and refuse to take anti-psychotic meds.
he suddenly had a severe episode of SVT after never having it before...he was in school and all he had done was playing basketball as normal..nothing weird to drink or anything.He must have one of the healthiest diets around,with very limited chocolate and sweets etc (infact most i dont allow)he never drinks cola unless a one off,no fizzy drinks etc,i feed him much organic as possible anyhow,loads of ruit,loads of veg and i simply cannot understand why it should be happening to him.
1st, having an initial psychotic episode at 38 is unusual, so it is probably not something squarely in the "psychotic family" of conditions. It is possible (although unlikely) to have an initial manic episode after having previous depressive episodes.
