My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?

(I stay in the depressed more than the mania) I know part of that is because of medications and we don't always want/need to get back to the "pre-break" feelings, but I am wondering...
Does a psychotic break change our disorder to a permanently detiorated state? Does it just get worse on it's own?
The results have been very good but in my last appointment the doctor said that there is some hazing in the capsule which is causing my vision to not be quite as good (it is probably 20/40). I have no problem wearing glasses and in fact have worn glasses now for about a month. One option is to not have the YAG procedure done and simply get a prescription for my glasses that fully corrects my vision to 20/20.
As to your question that's complex. A manic episode is a mental change in that its a break from reality. A person's emotions are not normative to what is going on. It may impair judgement such as the grandiosity typical for mania where a person has an inflated sense of self importance. As for psychosis that is a sharp break from reality in logical and normative thinking.
t do it unless he really thinks it will work - that is unless there is a significant hazing of the capsule. I wouldn't do it just to try something and to see if it might work.
Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.
Ok. But is it common to be manic all year round like I am. Even with the meds. Like I said I only hit the depressive mode when I hear a certain melody or when its those to holidays but I never stay in it for long. But I wouldnt say just depressed its mixed.

It stems from mistakes I made when I had my psychotic break a few years ago. I did some things that just shame me to no end - mostly financial. Some of them were apparent when I lost everything (financially) and some others aren't completely out there. And of course, my suicide attempt that very few people close to me know about.
This panic has led to anxiety and the anxiety to severe depression.
after attempting the HCV trmt interferon with Ribaviran for less than 2 wks had a psychotic break and then was but on an antidepressant. He stayed on an antidepressant for approximately 4 years then attempted the peglayted interferon with Ribaviran for less than 2 wks and again had multiple anxiety issues.......he is now dealing with type2 diabetes, liver cirrhosis and Biolar 1 issues

I have a good job, a home, and lots of friends, but my children and family don't talk to me since I am well now. I have BP l and have been hospitalized and committed quite a few times. My first psychotic episode occurred when I was 26, so I can relate to your daughter's situation (I'm 44). Many, many of us do "come back." She's likely to be able to return to school and/or work in her field when she's better stabilized. I did - even after being severely ill and on disability for a couple of years.
5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown.
However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well.
And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.
I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?

I have been running to eye doctors for near on 3 years now after complaining that my vision was blurry, hazing up and spotty. I have been to multiple drs and had scans of every description to exclude any major problem. And yet I still wake up everyday with fuzzed up vision. It came on at a period in my life of high personal emotional stress and has never subsided. Yet nothing is ever found to be wrong on examination and I have seen the experts, believe me.
It sounds like you may need some new glasses and this should help quite a bit. Ocassionaly there can be some clouding or hazing of the posterior capsule that requires a yag laser capsulotomy. I have also seen some patients with some wrinkles or stria in the posterior capsule in the first few weeks after surgery that cause the diaganol lights you mentioned. The get better about 90% of the time on their own and need a yag laser about 10% of the time.
I also had an endoscopy and CT scan to check for any other issues. CT scan showed hazing over a part of the pancreas so they ordered a amylase and lypase blood test. Lypase was fine but amylase was a 317. Now they want to do a targeted CT scan of my pancreas. I only have mild pain in my upper abdomine and mild discomfort like a pulled muscle in my lower back. I have never smoked or had any alcohol, and exercise daily. Could the H-Pylori still be causing these problems?
