My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?
I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with the sad story of Layne Staley, but with the release of the first Alice in Chains albumn in like 7 years since Laynes death, I figured I would show a little respect for Layne and share his story in hopes that it can help a few people.
For those of you who don’t know of Layne Staley or his story….he was lead singer of the rock band, Alice in Chains until 2002.
Today Mike Starr the bass player for Alice in Chains died at age 44. Mike struggled with a extreme methodone and heroin/painkiller addiction and was clean for 6 months after leaving the VH1 show celebrity rehab. To all of us who take those pills or shoot that juice in us, lets reflect on how serious this disease really is. I am a victim of saying that ill start "weening" off, or I will cold turkey tmrw.
t until I had a psychotic break that I was diagnosed. It seems that after I was diagnosed (after my break) that I haven't gotten back to the "pre-break" feeling. (I stay in the depressed more than the mania) I know part of that is because of medications and we don't always want/need to get back to the "pre-break" feelings, but I am wondering...
Does a psychotic break change our disorder to a permanently detiorated state? Does it just get worse on it's own?
No I haven't checked yet, I have the attention span of a flea right now. Tonight is tougher I'm home alone and feeling fragile and overwhelmed. I can't believe how out of control I was and there wasn't a damn thing I could do but ride it out or cave. I'm hoping the worst is over. Thanks for your messages it helps a lot to talk to people who know what hell your going through.
The key for you to keep in your mind is, that you have chosen to move forward. That is a step in the right direction from where you once stood. It is too bad that this person did not want to accept your friendship. But with that said, why bother trying to impress this person or win them over? Just be you man....

As to your question that's complex. A manic episode is a mental change in that its a break from reality. A person's emotions are not normative to what is going on. It may impair judgement such as the grandiosity typical for mania where a person has an inflated sense of self importance. As for psychosis that is a sharp break from reality in logical and normative thinking.
I am 36 weeks along and i am in preterm labor is what my doc said and i was in the hospital aweek ago for a few days getting my contractions calmed down and my doc sent me home and didnt put me on anything to keep the contractions at bay where in a week i am full term. But today i have been going to the bathroom alot and after everytime i pee i have a contraction bad so is it my water leaking out or just pee?
