Avatar f tn If someone who does not require Prozac takes it, as I did before, it is common to keep yawning and yawning until one's jaw becomes very fatigued. The yawning is not in response to tiredness but someone serotonin related, and at this time no one fully understands what is going on.
Avatar f tn Hello, I hope your days are going well. I started taking 20mg of Prozac for the first time today. My sister's boyfriend pointed out that I had some redness on the sides of neck; it feels slightly itchy and slightly burning. I noticed an itchy scalp as well, but it's only been a few hours. When I took it, it was with ibuprofen for some leg pain (400 mg). I couple of days ago I also started out on Amoxicillin 500mg, Sudogest 120mg, and some Ofloxacin ear drops for my ear/sinus infection.

Avatar m tn I am a former smoker (Iquit four years ago)in my 40's experiencing excessive yawning. Other than a day or two of real shortness of breath following a flu (H1N1 I think---was not tested) I have no other symptom other than this excessive desire to yawn as if I can't fill my lungs enough to get a good breath in, even tho I can and do. It makes no difference exercising or resting, in fact I notice it more when not busy.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I haven't noticed yawning causing anything, but I have had bouts of uncontrollable yawning. You know how the "polite yawn" feels? You have your lips closed and the yawn is taking place only in the back of the mouth, with the soft palate lifting and a good intake of air through the nose. (A very nice singer's breath feeling.
Avatar m tn Fatigue is a common symptom of Hypothyroid, yawning could also indicate a lack of oxygen or sleep apnea. You could post your recent thyroid labs for members comments.
518798 tn?1295212279 funny thing is i cant remember ever yawning when i was on oxy.
783281 tn?1259691431 Here I am at 18 days clean from morphine and I cannot stop yawning. It is not helpful to be yawning while your boss is talking to you at 3pm. He thinks..."late nite out...deadweight." But, I know it is the WDs. Really after last week's physical WDs...you would think I would be ok with yawning (Or the desire to) all day long....This is like my everyday question...."any idea how long this will last?
Avatar n tn I would like to know if anyone else experiences excessive yawning. This happens to me at least 3-4 times per day where I experience extreme yawning. I get about 1-4 yawns per minute and they last anywhere from 5-30 minutes or so. These are extremely irritating and annoying to me as they make my eyes water and drip, etc. etc. I am curious to know if anyone has any thoughts on what could be the cause of these.
Avatar f tn im 17 and i havent stoped yawning in about five days and i yawn every five. minutes and doctors thought i had a heart murmur when i was a baby but they werent really sure and now have these fast beats of my heart like everyday i dont know what it is and it scares me.
Avatar n tn Yeah, I have some kind of yawning thing. I yawn all the time even if I've gotten a good amount of sleep or even if it's my favorite class. Some parts of the day I could yawn once and then have the need to keep doing it like I can't help it and it's uncomfortable to try to just not yawn. And I'm yawning right now just cause of thinking about it. Is this something bad or is there something I can do to get rid of it, cause it's getting quite annoying.
628714 tn?1268238196 I was having problems with excessive yawning too. I went to my doctor and we ran some tests. I was yawning so much it was causing me problems with daily life. Anyway, they thought I might be anemic or iron deficient. Both of these can cause excessive yawning because your lungs feel like they are not getting the oxygen needed because of low red blood cells to carry oxygen to the lungs. But both my tests were fine. I am a very anxious person by nature so we decided I was having an anxiety attack.
Avatar n tn I cannot sneeze or yawn! I am just a kid. Right after I went to my bff's sleepover, at night, my mum gave me hot chocolate to drink. After that, I had trouble yawning. I can't stop yawning, and if I don't try to yawn, it just gets cramps it up my throat. Please help me in any way.
919428 tn?1320169902 I am currently on prozac for anxiety and levoxyl for the hypothyroidism. About 5 years ago I started getting this weird sensation in my throat around the same time as I was started treatment for the Hypothyroidism. It feels as if I've swallowed a piece of dry turkey and am in desperate need of something to wash it down. I can't were necklaces or anything close to my neck or the sensation worsens. It usually starts in the morning and worsens as the day progresses.
545693 tn?1214494153 Both yawning and swallowing difficulties can be seen with MS, but I suspect your yawning, at least, was from the Lexapro. I had severe yawning with Zoloft, so much that I had to come off of it. I also have swallowing difficulties. Sometimes it feels like suddenly I have forgotten how to swallow. Once I get it started it usually is okay. It can be a symptom of anxiety, but for me it isn't. Anxiety is definitely not one of my problems. Stay a while and tell us about yourself.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing excessive yawning spells - they start off with just yawning, but after a few yawns, they will be interrupted by a choking sensation that triggers my gag reflex and after a few more yawns like this I will throw up from the gag reflex being triggered, but while throwing up, I still have the urge to yawn and I'm afraid that eventually this will make me inhale some of what I'm throwing up.
1672333 tn?1416694918 Has anyone experienced excessive yawning associated with having anxiety? Some days are better than others but I just cannot get a full breath unless I yawn. It is sooo frustrating and quite embarrassing to be yawning all the time at work/home. I get so irritated with it at night sometimes that I just go to bed so it stops. If someone else is experiencing this, what do you do to stop this? breathing exercises? Please help! I want to feel normal again!
Avatar f tn My eyes tear up so bad from the yawning it looks like i am crying! One time i was in the supermarket yawning contantly and of couse i knew what was going on so i was paranoid that someone would know i was going through a little wd! Didn't want anyone to know i was an addict!
Avatar f tn This quite plausible theory of yawning falls short of explaining many aspects of yawning. Scientists explain away the "contagious" nature of yawning, that is when one person's yawn triggers another nearby to yawn, as due to the power of suggestion, but are at a loss when attempting to explain why yawning occurs excessively in patients with lower brainstem damage or with multiple sclerosis.
Avatar f tn s borderline bipolar, and I am still yawning and have gotten TMJ. I also keep having to take deep breaths until I can't take in any more air- not yawning-; I am clenching my jaw a lot still and having to open my mouth as wide as I can- again, not yawning- which makes me look a liiiiittle crazy! Anyone know of anything that might stop or alleviate these problems? Getting more than annoyed and tempted to stop meds. Thanks!
