Common Questions and Answers about Prozac with seroquel

prozac

Avatar f tn After years of continued difficulty with bouts of depression, anger/irritability, sleep, I saw a new doctor in 2015 who prescribed Abilify 5mg along with Adderall. He mentioned that he thought I continued to have issues because of the Prozac but did not officially give me a diagnosis. I immediately saw the benefits. However, at the end of 2016 I went through a severe bout of depression and discontinued the Abilify.
Avatar m tn Hello, I would like to know if it is safe to fly and be taking medical treatment for a year with Seroquel 300 and Fluoxetine (Prozac). I have to take a plane in a few days and let me know if it is safe to take this treatment ((people taking Seroquel and flew by plane more than 6 hours) I would also like to know the flight experiences in other patients taking Seroquel. Thanks, Anthony.
Avatar f tn He wants seroquel xr one night and then trazadone the next night at 75mg or up to 150mg and then let go of the seroquel xr. I am scared to death with all these medicine changes. Can I have some input here. I am already fearing life and now I fear the medicine. Thank you.
Avatar m tn He is currently on seroquel, Prozac and Xanax along with trazadone at bedtime. These meds are all prescribed meds. Is he still undergoing withdrawal symptoms, is this PAWS?, or is something else going on. I've posted here before and you guys have been great. I really need your help again.
175861 tn?1428182413 Take care, Laura I just read on another of your posting where you mentioned you are on seroquel aand prozac. One of the unfortunate side effects of seroquel is tardive dyskinesia, a less rare but possible with prozac. From what i've read and seen on youtube, it results in all over muscle spasms and shakes. I have read it can be pemanent, it's not one of those side effects that go away after one stops seroquel.
1029865 tn?1252418538 i currently take klonopin .5mg for anxiety as well as serouquel 50 mg for sleep and prozac 40 mg. but i get the most relief from the klonopin( i.
1317621 tn?1293042737 can't tell you where to start exactly. but what i am sure about is that you should consult a psychiatrist and not a GP to start with. Then if you are dx with bipolar disorder because BP II starts "always" with depression then in that situation your prozac isn't the right solution. So planning in not seeing a pdoc is not right.
433485 tn?1321813390 I have been feeling pretty good lately but my question is, has any one experienced anxiety, even with being on meds?
2080404 tn?1643113754 The Seroquel might be worth another try now that you're older. Maybe starting with a smaller dose this time.
Avatar f tn At the time I was on Fluoextine (Generic Prozac, Seroquel and Provigil). I no longer take the Provigil and Seroquel but have kept on the Prozac. I have tried Dilantin and Tegretol which gave me Steven Johnson Syndrome as well as Gabapentin --gave me headaches, Zonegram--made me extremely suicidal and keppra--made me extremely angry.
1388999 tn?1370042814 t start treating someone with depression with an antagonist, in that case, the atypical antipsychotic Seroquel. You will generally try the softer SSRIs out there first like Zoloft, Prozac which have their success history. If they fail you generally move on to try a SNRI depending on what the patient is complaning or add a DNRI like Wellbutrin. SNRIs are helpful in patients with lethargy and low motivation.
919239 tn?1269394658 They were of little benefit. Recently my MD. gave me some samples of 50 mg. of Seroquel XR. After reading the info with the medication, it says Seroquel is prescribed for bi-polar disorder. In my case I don't get the up or manic phase. I was hoping that this medication may be helpful for depression alone. Anyone who takes Seroquel that can give me some insight will be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn I am one person who has had a bad experience with serouquel. At one time I was taking 300mg of Seroquel. Well when I would get up to go to the bathroom, I could hardly walk and honestly would walk into walls. Not fun. He moved me down to 200mg and well that didn't work either. As of yesterday I went on 100mg of Serouquel and 10mg of Ambien. I haven't slept that good in ages. I guess what I am trying to say is Serouguel works diffrent for each individual.
Avatar m tn Hi this is typically me it's difficult to say whether you are bipolar or not. Pdocs without exception tell you if you get manic/hypomanic even ONCE then you are bipolar. Whether this is true or not, nobody knows. There is a person though Akiskal (psychiatrist, google him) he classifies this as BP III or cyclothemia (mild BP) that is antidepressant induced mania.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have any ideas on what meds I can try other than Depakote, Cymbalta, and Geodon? What experience have people had with prozac? I'm thinking that a change in antidepressant is what I need. I will be switching to another psychiatrist soon, because my current one is leaving his practice. Hopefully I will get a new start on some new meds that can help me.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Seroquel xr 150 mg for about a month with no problem, all of a sudden i have started getting bad muscle spasms that last hours. I can't take it any more, i just take my Prozac and that alone is not helping. Is this a common side affect? will it go away? why did it start after i had been taking the medicine for over a month with no problem?
Avatar n tn I feel as though there is an itch under my skin that I cannot scratch all over my body, and have involuntary movements in my limbs. It happened most severely with Seroquel (100 mg, if I am not mistaken). It did not happen every time I took each of the other medications, and gradually went away with Zyprexa. I was on Zyprexa for about 8 months... 5mg/day. I'd say it took a few weeks for this side effect to kick in, and a month or two for it to go away completely.
Avatar f tn So today i took the first Lamictal 25 mg and will take another lamictal 25 mg at night with seroquel but i still want to keep taking the topomax and want to know if anyone had done this combo.
Avatar n tn i am on two types of medications already. seraquel XR and Prozac. i have anxiety, depression, Bipolar disorder and anger issues. i get so mad sometimes and lose controll. its not even funny. i break things around me and i try to hurt myself... i want to go on another medication for anger problems but i dont think its healthy to be on so many medications at once. what should i do?
569026 tn?1216982293 Adel-ezz mentions Seroquel, I took that with Abilify. I didn't take it long enough to notice a change but I have heard it can be an effective combo, one drawback, possible weight gain. You sound like you are on the right track, meds, mind, and body are all intertwined and if you can work on all of those things together, you can live with this. As far as your kids go, once your well, they'll reap the benefits.
Avatar n tn HI! I started prozac a little less than 2 weeks ago. He started me off on 20 mg. He told me it was best to start off slow and then in 3 - 5 wks if it's not working to go up, but I would think that 40 mg is a little high to start off with. When I first did prozac he started me at 10 mg (the lowest dosage) since it was my first time, then after 4 wks put me at 20 mg. How long have you been on it? Take care!
Avatar m tn Some of the one I am familiar with are Abilify, Geodon, Depakote, Lamictal, Lithium, Remeron, Aoloft, Prozac, and many many more. You may want to post and ask for a website link to get more info. I know one site www. NAMI.org is very good and has links. I think it boils down to good old fashion research. Usually it's a combination of 2 or 3 meds to treat the different symtoms of Bipolar. Most people are not on just one med.
Avatar m tn My most recent drug combinations are (1) 30mg Remeron/Mirtazapine, (2) 150mg Quetiapine/Seroquel, (3) 500mg Epilim/ Sodium Valporate everyday and (4) 10mg prozac every other day. This seems to work well, but I wonder what the long term consequences will be. Could you enlighten me?
906325 tn?1256501197 My doctor is switching me to Seroquel XR off prozac. I'm worried bc i have to breastfeed as my daughter is allergic to formula. The site says do not breastfeed while taking it. He is saying go ahead but my pharmicist disagrees. Is anyone out there taking this and breastfeeding by any chance??!!!
Avatar m tn i ve been on many AD prozac paxil zoloft effexor cymbalta and savella none of them worked so my pdoc put me on seroquel 600 mg and lexapro 20 mg and wellbutrin 450 mg i started feeling a little better .......but when should i feel the full effects?
Avatar f tn Hi I posted on here before and got great answers so I'm back again. I've had ADHD since 14 but only took meds for a few year before I decided to try things on my own. Now at 26 I'm working full time, going school and being a single parent. Needing help to focus and with depression I went to see a pyschologist( I have medi-cal so theres only one available) He put me on 10mg Adderall three times a day ( he said 4 but I made the decision to only do three).
