Prozac with buspar

Common Questions and Answers about Prozac with buspar

prozac

According to my psych, buspar works in conjuction with other anti-depressants. I was taking prozac and buspar; now Zoloft and buspar, but I will ask my psych about it.
Your psychiatrists could substitute several different medications for the zoloft if the side effects are too bad, including prozac, paxil, and celexa. wellbutrin instead of buspar is something that will bring back your sex drive.
Hello, I'm curious as to how you are doing with the buspar? I've been diagnosed with GAD and my dr prescribed buspar as well (7.5 mg twice day). I'm so scared to try it as I'm super sensitive with all meds. I'm frightened I'll have all the side effects. I'm curious as to how it's helped you with your anxiety. Did you have any side effects & did the buspar help with your anxiety? Thanks & god bless.
My psychiatrist put me in prozac and buspar. Are these two good together? Do they have interactions? Has anyone else taken these together?
I have been taking prozac for two years for OCD with good improvement in symptoms.I am also alcoholic but have been off drink and attending meetings of AA(Alcoholics Anonymous) for 20 years.I was diagnosed with OCD 2 years ago and although the prozac has helped me a lot Ihave conflict with taking medication long term and would like to consider going off medication by tapering the dose but am wary that symptoms might return. any comments /suggestions how best to go about it!
so recently my biggest problem has been my EXTREME anxiety that has gone left hanging in the air after ive been taking 100 mgs of wellbutrin twice a day. ive always been taking ssri's so in a way they kinda both helped me with the depression/anxiety thing in general. it wasnt until a couple months after being on wellbutrin that i found out that it has no connection to help with anxiety & it is simply used for severe depression.
You don't do these meds with a nurse practitioner, for goodness sake. You only do this with an experienced psychiatrist you trust. That's a lot of medication and potential interactions, and these meds are hard to start and hard to quit. And most importantly, if you're doing great, why do you want another drug? None of them completely rid one of the problem. What you want now is therapy so you can get to the bottom of this and solve this problem, not keep looking for some magic pill.
She has mood swings and outbursts out of frustration. When she was 5 she was diagnoised with lyme diease. she was treated with anti biotics & also, at that time she had an EEG & there was a slight seizure disorder found. She was put on depakote at that time, she is till on it along with busbar & zolof. She still has problems & we are looking for a new doctor, because we feel at a dead end with the one she has been seeing for about10 mos.
Since then I've been on and off about three times, each time having to increase the dose to the max 200mg and then my physiciatrist at the time added buspar for obsessive worrying with great success again. So I went off the meds in April due to financial constraints/no insurance. Was good all summer and relapsed in December due to financial worries/stress. I started back on the Zoloft and buspar; 200mg and 20mg/twice day respectively. I was on that for two months with only modest improvement.
hello, my question is to request any info you have on percentages or statistics of abnormal pregnancies, with the use of paxil and buspar during pregnancy. my psychiatrist told me that there is no more risk taking an ssri for birth defects, than if i were taking none. i am wondering if you can help me find information or people to talk to that have used an ssri during pregnancy, and get comments from normal and abnormal results of their born child, or children.
The problem is that this new doctor seems to think that it is safe for me to just stop the Xanax and start taking buspar immediately. I am scared as hell. I have been saying that I would like to eventually get off the meds but I have heard and read that it is not safe to just quit Xanax. Another questionable thing he did was prescribe me 30 buspar per month and I am supposed to take it before bed which ***** because my anxiety is mostly during the day.... Any advice?
I suffer from panic attacks and am currently weaning myself off of prozac. I took 20mgs. prozac for approximately 4 years starting in 1995. I then weaned myself down to 15 mgs. for approx. 3 months, feeling slightly less anxious. I lowered to 10 mgs. three weeks ago, 5mgs. one week ago, and now have taken none for the past 4 days. I also take .5mg. of clonazepam twice a day for one month. My concern is what type of withdrawal symptoms am I to expect in the coming weeks or months?
Welbutrin, Zoloft, buspar, Serizone and of course prozac. The prozac has definitely been the best for me. But lately it seems to not be working anymore. My doctor suggested that we should try raisng the dosage, but it just doesn't seem to do anything. I hate my life right now. I feel like everything is out of control. The bad thing is I didn't like the effect that any of the other meds had on me. I'm running out of choices, I don't know what to do. Please help.
are far too high for sensitive responders. With prozac, for example, she could start on 5mg (by opening a 20mg capsule into a quart of juice and drinking 1 cup each day) for a week or two, and then increasing to 7mg, then 10mg - etc. until a therapeutic dose is achieved with the least possible side-effects. Since all kinds of docs prescribe these meds, they don't always have the time, patience, or training to help patients adjust to these meds. Don't give up.
Hi i just have a little question. I was perscribed buspar about a week ago. I was on fluoxetine(prozac) which made me lose alot of weight and being at 95 already it wasn't a good pill for me i took it for 6days and took myself off it it only made me feel worse. So i went to a new doctor and he gave me buspar and he prescribed it to me to take it when i need it, up to 4 times a day if needed. i have only taken it one time and it seemed to make my anxiety go away.
I tryed to submit a longer answer just a while ago, and it didn't post so this will be short. I took buspar for years along with my prozac to increase its potentcy. It worked great for that and I never did have any problems with it. I know three or four other people that took it for the same reason, to increase effect of antidepressants and they all had good results with it. It is real cheep and as far as I know it dosn't have many problems associated with it.
I personally have taken meds like lexapro and buspar. buspar just work for my anxiety and I rally don't remember having any adverse effects.
I have been on zolof , buspar and clonazepam for over 4 years now, started taking during my divorce. i finally said enough ! sick of just being in my life and not living it .( make sence??) well...I am definetly having withdrawl dizzzy, can't concentrate, yelling at my kids, and i can't sleep so I end up giving in and taking a clonazepam to sleep ...Is this normal??
My second time on prozac, I got the worst UTI of my life one week into treatment and switched to buspar. I've had no UTIs while off prozac or on other medications. I started taking prozac again six days ago. It started on day two with bladder pressure after urinating. Now I have burning after urinating and severe bladder pressure and cramps. All of which I believe are the start of yet another UTI. Is it possible that my prozac prescription is causing these painful bladder issues?
I am starting the prozac today and have been on the buspar for 2 1/2 months 5mg twice a day. I have bad anxiety with depression. I am starting at 10mg of the prozac to hopefully avoid the anxious part of the side effects. How much prozac does you husband take a day and what for? I am glad to hear that it helps with the sexual side effects as that is one of my worries.
but didn't want to frighten you with the whole story of my experience with prozac! I felt just as she did on it. Took a trip to visit my brother, as doctor said I'd be back to myself within weeks...haha. I was a mess. Felt like screaming with anxiety. Honestly don't think it has ever been so bad. Couldn't enjoy visit. Stayed in my room most of week. I felt completely out of control .....so not back to myself!!!
I don't know much about buspar but I can wish you good luck. I really don't think there's much in the world tougher to go thru than anxiety and depression.
I have bipolar and I take buspar and Im going nowhere with it, and they have me on hydroxine, anyone here prescribed this for anxiety, it upsets me sometimes as when those that need a more urgent and aggressive approach with meds to help with these things and others who are out to misuse or otherwise seem to have it-Anyone with me on this?
Then, when I began to want to stop, I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to deal with the withdrawals. I went back and forth with myself around this for a long, long time. Hell, even before my back pain was bad, I knew I was badly addicted and should stop, but had no desire to or intention of it, though I tried a few times and couldn't. I just stayed stuck in that cycle. For years. Very nearly lost my marriage, and withdrew from all my friends...
