Prozac tremors

Common Questions and Answers about Prozac tremors

prozac

Avatar n tn I have essesential tremors and take medication (Propranolol SA -160mg) for them. I also take Clonazepam - 0.5mg for anxiety and Prozac - 20mg to help with my nervousness and anxiety. These medications do help, but I have noticed over the past year that my shaky head syndrome and my shaky legs while driving has gotten worse. It is getting to the point that I am barely able to drive, and I have noticed that my head is shaking more than it used to.
Avatar f tn However it should be noted that many medications can interact with lithium by raising or lowering the blood level of lithium. When the blood level of lithium is higher the potential for hand tremors increases. You could discuss all this with your psychiatrist but it will take some time for the Ciraplex to be out of your system so it should take some time for any potential improvement to occur but keep your psychiatrist updated as to how things are going.
Avatar f tn I would specially suggest that you evaluate your thyroid disorder (overactive) thoroughly that can be the potential cause of your tremors. In addition, thyroid disorder may result into anxiety that can also be reason of your tremors. I would suggest to see endocrinologist & neurologist here who can evaluate possibilities mentioned to you earlier. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I have been on prozac (fluxetene) for 14 years now - I was severely depressed - and when I started taking it I was suicidal. After two weeks on Prozac my life changed dramatically - and I have been on it ever since with variations on the dozage - I now take 20 mg daily. (I did try to get off it once because everything in my life was great and felt there was no reason to be depressed - but after weaning myself off the depression came back with a vengence - so I went back on it).
Avatar f tn t take it any more, i just take my Prozac and that alone is not helping. Is this a common side affect? will it go away? why did it start after i had been taking the medicine for over a month with no problem?
Avatar f tn I have essential tremors and I have been taking Klonopin for a very long time along with Baclofen (for the soreness in my neck muscles). I take 2mg 2x a day of Klonopin and 20mg 2x a day of Baclofen. I also take Prozac 40mg every night. My doctor has been talking about putting me on beta-blockers for my tremors, but he won't do so until I can get my asthma under control (he prescribed Dulera inhaler 2x a day & I also have an Albuterol inhaler).
Avatar m tn Hi all just wished to find out from others past experience of the drug how long one should expect to experience withdrawal effects from prozac. Been off prozac myself for 2 1/2 weeks after changing to mirtazapine and now have buily up to an 45mg dose after 8 1/2 weeks but i'm experiencing a range of strange sensations over this whole period.
Avatar f tn My doctor has decided that Depression is the cause of my anxiety, and has upped my bupropion to 450 mg a day until the tremors and shaking started, then he lowered me back down to 300. Now I have feel angry or like crying all the time. An explotion can come at anytime, but because the depression was better at 450 mg a day he wants to combine atenolol with it to fight the side effects. I don't like the side effects of either one of these drugs.
1488651 tn?1296698023 I am 32 with two children. Last couple of years I have had severe neck pain on right side. I also get loss of coordination, dizziness, major headaches, hand tremors, muscle spasms, muscle twitching( leg jerks), blurred vision, and stabbing pain behind right ear, and leg and arm weakness, always fatigued. I have been dx with Hashimotos which levels are being managed with levytyroxine. I also take Prozac for anxiety, and primidone for tremors which don't seem to work.
Avatar m tn You can expect hands shaking with almost any stimulants. The severity of the shaking will confirm if you should stop the drug. Tremors are usually not a good sign but in the case of the stimulating Wellbutrin I would suggest the symptoms will get better over some time or get worse in case you need a dose adjustment which would be a lower dose that is.. If the tremors are severe then you should stop taking the drug immediately.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) for a few years now and about 6 months ago I upped my dosage. My sex drive on the lower dose was already low, but now it's almost non-existent. At first it wasn't a problem because I haven't been seeing anyone, but now that I am I would really like to try and fix this problem. Since I'm female feel like this is going to be a more difficult process. Would anyone know of any supplements that can help this side effect??

Avatar f tn I am an 18 year old girl. I was on prozac for maybe a week, only 20 mgs but i was taking it every day and it was not prescribed to me, it was my moms old prescription so i guess that was a very stupid decision. I smoked a tiny bit of pot on it, literally one hit, and about an hr later I started having heart palps and tremors- major anxiety. It was soo bad i couldnt even breathe. I was sweating and shaking uncontrollably. Ever since that I have just not been quite right.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have any ideas on what meds I can try other than Depakote, Cymbalta, and Geodon? What experience have people had with prozac? I'm thinking that a change in antidepressant is what I need. I will be switching to another psychiatrist soon, because my current one is leaving his practice. Hopefully I will get a new start on some new meds that can help me.
Avatar f tn Both of these are two of the most difficult meds out there, especially when you want to stop taking them. I'd go with ssris first since snris can be very stimulating, or tricyclics, or just try therapy and see if you can do it that way. I don't think either of these will give you tremors, that's usually the mood disorder drugs, but side effects are peculiar to the individual, they don't necessarily go along with the med. What's easy for one is hard for another.
Avatar m tn He was in prison for a short time and while he was there they gave him a cocktail of haldol, geodon, prozac, depakote, remeron and cogentin all at one time. He was on this cocktail for 12 months. When released he no longer had the medications and had very bad withdrawals of intense tremors. Of course these subsided but he has these episodes of violent jerking of his legs and shoulders. When his legs kick, he does experience a painful heat sensation in his lower back.
Avatar f tn It is possible to feel tremors all over the body. Tremors are often associated with drugs, alcohol, smoking, lack of sleep, poor sleep patterns, stress and fatigue. They can be seen in peripheral neuropathies of diabetes, in hyperthyroidism, parasomnia, multiple sclerosis, TIAs or transient ischemic attacks or mini strokes, hypoglycemia, disorders of calcium metabolism, hyperparathyroidism etc. Certain epilepsies too could be the cause. Consult an internal medicine specialist or your PCP.
Avatar n tn my experince also includes tremors when falling asleep. i had MRI ECG ETC and nothing. sonce inclusive rapid fast heart cardio suggest anxity prozac but waiting 3 days to discuss wth my neurologists GP. appreciate any updates you might have.
Avatar f tn my son just so happens to be here right now. he has been on cymbalta for two years now...after trying prozac and effexor. he has alot of anxiety also and it seems to work the best for him. i asked him about the side effects...and he said he had none...no brain zaps either. guess everyone is different on how things affect them. the prozac and effexor both made him more depressed.
7970489 tn?1395885877 A week after that i went to get a root canal and my panic increased sky high, all day and night. My heart rate was at 100 bpm on and off all day, minor tremors in my legs at night because of nervousness. I also lost 10 pounds because of the tooth pain and constant nervousness. Has anyone experienced this 24/7 because of withdrawal?
Avatar m tn She told me the only thing that I could do is to take ibprofen or ibprofen like medication. SInce then I have tried gabapentin but that gave me tremors so I went back to ibprofen then I went to lyrica and that worked and then I recieved a letter from my insurence that they would no longer be paying for the medication. I tried to contest it but they said no.
Avatar f tn Some of the medications she was on in a 26 month period were Lexapro, Trazadone, Risperdal, Celexa, Prozac and Adderal, I am sure there were more but it has been 3 years. While she was on the Risperdal she started having some involuntary movement of her jaw and would make odd sounds with her throat. The doctor was aware of this but never commented or suggested it was from the medication so I assumed it was side effect of her drug abuse.
Avatar f tn I've had a variety of symptoms for 6-8 years. Specialists believed it was "something autoimmune" but had no definite diagnosis. This year old symptoms are worse with new symptoms. I have memory & word-finding problems, falling frequently, heat intolerance, sleeplessness, nightmares with only occasional flashes of memory about them, & constipation with some diarrhea.
Avatar f tn I tried Effexor for 6 weeks. Too stimulating, gave me tremors. I have now been on Zoloft for 7 weeks. I find this one to be stimulating as well. I still have tremors and now have acne which I have never had in my life. I find my panic attacks have been more frequent since starting Zoloft. But this is just my experience, some people swear by it. My doc won't prescribe me Celexa because she feels it is too similar to Lexapro to work. How did you like Celexa? Did it work for you?
