I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 9. I have been on Prozac, Paxil, Lexapro and now Citalopram for 16 years. At this point the citalopram doesn't seem to be working anymore. I have increased my dosage to 80mg a day and have added xanax about .5 mg 2 to 3 times a day about 1 month ago. I am very depressed and I'm worried about forgetting things. I'm worried about getting alheizmers disease. I need to go to see a neurologist and have some tests done.
My doctor recently started me on 40 mg of prozac a little over 2 weeks ago. I have taken numerous depression drugs in the past where my doc has started me on a very low dosage and worked me up to higher dosages but on prozac we went straight to 40 mg. I have been having headaches, nausua and dizziness. I thought these symptoms would fade away but I have had no luck. I'm beginning to wonder if this dosage is too high. I don't know anything about prozac....
If you decide to take this without speaking to your Dr, you should not take more than the recommended amount displayed on the bottle. Typical dosage ranges from 200 to 2,000 mg per day in divided doses.
I just recently started on klonipin my dr. Prescribed 1 mg 2 times a day but it makes me to sedated to the point where I can't function so I changed it to .05 mg a day I feel great am also in Prozac been on for 15 yrs was recently on lorazepam but wasn't working just want to know if that is ok . It was just too much .
Yeah, how old is she? And you really need to get informed about these drugs. Skipping doses can cause withdrawal, although this is less likely with Prozac than other ssris because it stays in the body much longer. When someone skips a dose, you just take the next dose -- doubling up can cause side effects. Prozac is one of the more stimulating ssris, and these drugs can cause odd thoughts especially in the young.
The dosage amount is based on your body composition, height, weight, etc., so 1800mg (while it is an exceedingly high dosage) could possibly be a normal dosage size for someone large in stature.
I was under the idea that it was common knowledge that overdosing on any drug can be fatal, but I guess you didn't know.
Have you had a follow up blood test to monitor your dosage change to 50mcg? It certainly sounds like hyper symptoms to me, but you should be monitored closely and tested with any dosage change. Call your doc and describe your symptoms and ask why you haven't been tested to check the effectiveness of your new dosage change. You should have been tested at 6 weeks!
t really know how to use this forum thing, i just saw overdose so i clicked i recently took an overdose 2 days ago i took paracetomol prozac ibeprofen asprin and some other drug that i found i had quite a bit of each and i'm experiencing headaches shakyness fuzzy eyes tirness i was sick a little yesterday and i feel so tired and headachy but i don't want to die anymore and i'm scared but i can't tell my parents or anybody!!!
so can i do anything to make this all stop?
i just discovered i have been giving my 41 year old daughter twice the amount of NEUTRA-PHOS-K powder as prescribed.....(the mgram amount is not listed on the packets) the prescribed dosage is one packet twice daily and i have been giving her 2 packets twice daily for about 2 weeks.....is she in any danger if i just go back to the prescribed dosage right now ?...
m no proffessional, but that goes in the same Category as Celexia (spelling) prozac, and lexepro. Very low side effects. Which would tell me that they take a little time to work. I think you'll see with zoloft you'll have very successfull results. Also have read about it being an antiobsessive antidepressant, along with prozac...
Give it more time, it'll work, wouldn't even doubt ater consultation with a proffessional that you could go back to your 50Mg's.
I have been taking Paxill for a while now and it seems to not be working so well anymore. I was wondering if anyone on Prozac could tell me if they are having good results and if Prozac affects there sex drive. The only medication that I tried so far that I didn't have thatsexual problems with was Wellbutrin. Thanks!
6 weeks is more than a comfortable time period to up the Prozac. During my prime anxiety days I was taking 60mg of Prozac. Upping the dosage is something that only you and your doctor can decide on. The few days in a row being a hot mess could have been the side effects too. Hopefully those are all out of the way. I have found.. and this is just my opinion, but all the meds in the world wont make our anxiety go away. Just help us.
my partner has been on prozac for around 10 years and recently weaned herself of them.4 months down the line she is feeling really low ,is this a side affect of the drug e.g. coming out of her system or should she be considering retking it .she really dosent want to start again.Is there a phone number she can ring or a helpline where she can discuss her symtoms.

So basically i was put on prozac 40mg a day. Im 14 and it was liquid prozac. So for liquid prozac for every 5ml you take thats 20mg in pill form. My doctor thought it was for every 5ml of the liquid it is 10mg or the prozac pill form. So anyways.... I told my doctor and she put me back down to 20mg. Now when i was on the 40mg my mind was clear and i was happy. Now..... Since iv been put back on 20mg my thoughts have came back and i fear it wont work again. Any advice?

My problem with Subutex is when I have extreme pain my standard dosage does not help at all. I was wondering if I doubled the dosage in cases like this if it would help. An example is I have been in the hospital x2 with severe chest pains and no way to get relief. I know most of you are not doctors but wondered if you have taken more than prescribed for higher pain levels?
t think think any antidepressant offers benefits that increase in a linear fashion as the dosage goes up. For example, I am taking Celexa at 40 mg. I have read that increasing to 60 mg is possible but offers little clinical benefit.
About an hour after that I took an adult sized dosage of Nyquil. I awoke Monday morning with a sharp pain in my upper abdomen. The pain comes and goes but stays longer each time it "hits". My stomach seems to be a little swollen but since I am a larger sized woman and have my share of belly fat it is hard to say how swollen it is. It feels tight on the inside and that's the best way I can describe it.
