prozac obesity

Can my sleepiness actually be the result of either my longterm use (15+ years) of Neurontin (for epilepsy) or longterm use (10 years) of Prozac? There are problems associated with going off either of these meds, but it is very difficult to get through life feeling chronically sleepy and drugged.

I'm a 25 year old male who suffers from extreme obesity (weight is 340 at last check). In 2006 I had my first PVC and panic attacks and was checked with an EKG then the machine interpreted it as a RBBB but the doctor said I was fine and for me to go home, I did and was prescribed Prozac and it worked.

I've had depression/anxiety for 10 yrs now. I've been off and on Prozac (only drug I've ever tried). I was on 10mg-20mg Prozac for the last 2 years, until 6 weeks ago. I weaned myself off. This is the reasons why: I gained 40 pounds in 2 yrs on it, and I still had a great amount of depression and anxiety. And so far, I really haven't been worse off it, about the same. But I'm tired of the battle, the daily battle. I'm totally different now then what I used to be.

I am 21 years old and have struggled with obesity since I was a kid. I am 274 lbs as of right now with high blood pressure. I want to get in shape and lose the excess fat. I dont look healthy at all and my family has a history of obesity and many health problems come with it. I want to prevent these health issues and start living/eating/working out right. I have watched the biggest loser and have always tried to lose weight but I can't or I don't know how.

Well I'm 14, I'm fat and i want to lose weight, I get bullied at school for my weight, I think I'm obese . Every time the teachers talk about obesity in classes , i feel ashamed for my self cause I'm fat and I don't want to be , I have fat friends and skinny friends i just want to be the right weight for my age ..

There is a small portion of obese people that have serious medical conditions that cause obesity or on medication that causes it, however the majority is the reason stated above. Not only do they overeat but its horrible kinds of food. The portions served in American restaurants are sometimes can contain a day and half worth of calories of a healthy serving size for just one meal!!! Think about someone eating that way 3 times a day. No wonder obesity is an epidemic.

I am Diabetic and Obese. I am curious as to the actual real life frequency of obesity associated with Diabetes. I am anticipating speaking with anyone who shares my problem of obesity and the difficulties accompanying the never ending battle of weight loss. Do you find that every food you eat seems to adversly affect yous attempts to control your glucose level as well as your weight?

Due to the probable inactivity as a result of the numbness and /or pain in limbs and other parts of the body, is morbid obesity one of the symptoms of Chiari, and what would one do with it. Would PT place the patient at risk or would it be to their advantage? What would be the course of treatment, Pt and or diet?

I truly think I have Hep C, although everybody else thinks the liver problems are due to obesity. I truly doubt that is the case because I've researched cirrhosis and obesity has nothing to do with it. What do you guys think?

My mother 58 years old was very slim at her youth. In recent years she became very obese. Being not a doctor, yet i suspected problems with her heart or some water retention.i.e. kidney issues. A few weeks ago she traveled to Europe and caught pneumonia due to hard weather conditions. But that was not a curse since coming back we did x-rays and she got rid of the effusion in lungs and is recovering. Yet the x-rays showed the leftlobe bigger meaning some swelling in the heart.

While I am not currently on Prozac, I did take it years ago and it worked very well for me. I took klonopin, a different benzo, without a problem as well. I'm not sure what side effects you were having that you are trying to avoid. I currently take Wellbutrin. It has not made me gain weight and it has not affected my sex life like so many of the other anti-depressants. Just a thought in case you need to go down the road of another med. Take care.

I am on my 4th day of prozac 10mg.....feel spacy a little dizzy and lightheaded, no appetite is this normal? my doc doesn't even think i am depressed and didn't want to prescribe...I have multiple physical symptoms with no diagnosis and wanted to try an antidepressant. I can't say that some of these symptoms were not happening before I started the drug... I just haven't felt right in such a long time...

I have seen commercials that say Prozac and a list of other antidepressants could cause birth defects. But just like any other medicine, I would talk to your doctor about it.

I have been on Prozac20 mg for almost 9yrs, Wellbutrin 300 mg bid for about 5 yrs , and Aderrall 30mg SR for 2 yrs. For the last 4yrs i have experienced significant memory loss, word finding difficult, decreased concentration, night sweats and still feel depressed. The Aderall no longer works. I think the Prozac is causing the memory problems and brain fog. My providers says it's not the Prozac. I'm thinking of weaning myself off the prozac first and then the Adderall.

I am on prozac as of last Wednesday. I feel the same if not worse than I did a week ago. Could my medication be the cause or is it too soon for it to be working properly? I have hypothyroid, could have that something to do with it?

ok i just started taking prozac for my agoraphobia my depression and my anxity was wondering since i have been on it i have had diarriah and been overly tired how long should this last o and when i try to relax i feel all creapy crawly inside is this normal
