Avatar n tn If you have been on Prozac for 9 years then there is a good chance that it has lost it's effect for you. As a result you symptoms of depression may have come back, which is what is causing this depressed, slugish feeling. When my meds stop working then I feel the same way. I'm supprised you even got 9 years from one SSRI medication. They usually poop out by then. These meds don't stay effective forever. after many years your body will find a way to resist the antidepressant.

Avatar n tn I know from the past depression has caused memory loss. I know I feel foggy sometimes. I can really sense the fogginess from the drugs. Some days I am very alert, energetic, and if I am tired and something has bothered me that I ignore, I will feel foggy. I went to see my therapist the other day. He wants to give a memory test. But I wonder if you are on drugs that make you nod off, how would you get an accurate interpretation?

Avatar m tn re in an alcohol/substance related group - memory loss can be associated with drinking. It can be associated with many other things, too - from different medications, mental or cognitive health conditions, and even sometimes stress. I think it is very important that you speak to a doctor who can survey your health & lifestyle profile to work with what is known - and other factors that may not be known.

It only lasts for 5 to 15 seconds then I am back to normal and I remember what I was doing and where I am. I am able to function during these episodes . It seems to happen when I am relaxed as apposed to when I am concentrating on something. Any idea as to what is happening ?
