Prozac jittery

Common Questions and Answers about Prozac jittery

prozac

Avatar f tn I started 5 mg of Prozac 10 days ago for anxiety. Lexapro always did well for me except that I would gain weight (a lot) and feel like a zombie even at 5 mg. No other noticeable side effects. So the doctor switched me to Prozac and these first 10 days have been h*ll. I am anxious and weepy and have more anger in me. My sleep is messed up (waking up in the middle of the night for an hour or two then falling back asleep). I feel very jittery and on edge all the time.
466048 tn?1207707074 I am on prozac as of last Wednesday. I feel the same if not worse than I did a week ago. Could my medication be the cause or is it too soon for it to be working properly? I have hypothyroid, could have that something to do with it?
Avatar f tn I have been taking prozac for a little over a week. This is the second time, but the first time I was switched from one to prozac so I didn't get off track, but I quit cold-turkey a year ago and now I am starting back up. Especially in the mornings I wake up with a pounding heart which persists all day. I know I am having constant anxiety, but since I uped the dose three days ago to 20MG I've been feeling very jittery, like I am about to jump outta my skin!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how long it takes for prozac to get out of your system, I was only on it for 2 weeks but had very bad side effects from it? My last does was Wed morning and now starting Zoloft. Still feeling very very anxious!! Any comments would help!!
Avatar f tn Hi. I started Prozac 10 mg for GAD and Panic 3 days ago. I'm suddenly noticing increased anxiety. Is this a common side affect? If so, will it subside pretty quickly? I'm feeling worse than before:( Thank you!
Avatar f tn Thanks! Feeling better. My N.P.let me know I should not be wiening Celexa and take prozac while wiening. I am now just on Prozac and Buspar. Feeling ok. Just tired and jittery at times. I can't wait until this Prozac kicks in.
Avatar f tn I have good days on prozac but more off and down days. would you think it was time for a dose or med change at this point now that iv been on it for just over 5 weeks.
Avatar n tn I started on Prozac about 5 days ago and last night I started feeling pretty bad-I felt jittery and super anxious, nausea and just over all...scared. I'm a hypochondriac and I've been suffering from anxiety (now depression) for a couple of months and I switched to Prozac because several women in my family have taken it with great results. After reading your symptoms, I feel much more at ease that this will pass.
Avatar f tn m going 40, spendING money to where this weekend I had to cut the debit card up and spent $300 yesterday on clothes, my therapist told me Tuesday I look anxious and jittery, I can't sleep! This is just some of the side effects.
Avatar f tn t sleep and I always felt extremely jittery and nauseous. After switching to Prozac those symptoms went away for the most part, and I'm feeling much better now. It usually takes about a month to 6 weeks before you really start feeling the benefits of antidepressants, but if you're experiencing side effects or are feeling worse then you were before taking Prozac I would definitely talk to your doctor and see if another med might suit you better. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Insomnia, stiff kneck, itchy eyes, numb noodle, agitation I could go on. I had only been on 1 other med, Prozac and for some reason changed. I had only taken Prozac for about 3 or 4 months and it worked GREAT. I had some trauma in my life, went into a 3 week panic attack and stopped the Prozac for some reason. I was ALWAYS told by Dr's that if an SSRI is right for you, you will feel NOTHING in the first few weeks, then gradually feel better.
Avatar f tn About 3 weeks ago my stomach got queasy & with that I would get fast heart beat & sweating. I was home alone & paniced. Went to ER. Went See family dr. & gyno. Was put 10 mg. Prozac & 10 mg. Estradol cause of pre menopause. Also have been on .50 Xanax for years to help me sleep. Since I’ve started prozac I feel like I’m goin crazy!!! No appetite very jittery & feels like my heart is racing.
Avatar f tn ve gone over safety during pregnancy (agonized really) and it really is to the point where benefits outweigh the risks. My doctor suggested Zoloft or Prozac. I chose Zoloft first because I had read it was better for breastfeeding. I tried it a couple of years ago and got very jittery and quit, not wanting to accept that I needed medicine anyway. Despite all that, I hoped it would be better this time. It was not. This time I got diarrhea as well.
Avatar f tn I have tried every natural herb/therapy known to man..I finally agreed to go on prozac. Well, I have a very strong sensitivity to meds (all meds), so they started me on a very, v ery low dose..I am taking liquid prozac, .5 ml which is only 2mg and it is day 4 and I am going crazy..I am so jittery, feel like vomiting, going to pass out and it all day long. I have a few ativan here and took one and that did help...Anyone else, suffer like this and anyone else try prozac and how did you do..
Avatar m tn I stopped Zoloft and went back on prozac. I stopped the prozac after a couple traumatic events with increased panic. For some reason i thought the prozac no longer worked. i doubt the zoloft would have either. The sexual side effects will happen with any ssri, but prozac was much more suttle and only lasted a few days. the zoloft was far worse, my desire was greatly diminished and..well you know the rest. I was told early on that if an ssri is correct you will feel nothing...
Avatar m tn I have two small children and need to be strong for them but today Im feeling really over it. Ive been on Prozac 20mg for 6 weeks after being on Remeron which just wasn't cutting it. Whenever Im at home I feel really on edge . Ive been seeing a mental health nurse, but Im not seeing much progress. This all started with a undiagonsed illness. I feel I can't tell my husband how I really feel as he doesn't understand. Does this ever get better. Has anyone been cured of GAD and how?
Avatar m tn I tried St John Wort and I felt better (I also saw my doctor for cholesterol and EKG for my chest and stomach pain at the same time as starting the medicine, all came back great). After a few weeks it came back so I got on Prozac (day 8) and wow, so far so bad. After reading a lot of forums, I am finding that the increased anxiety, terrible headaches, loss of appetite and the wired, jittery, trembling is normal for a few weeks until it gets into your system. I will stick it out.
Avatar f tn m going 40, spendING money to where this weekend I had to cut the debit card up and spent $300 yesterday on clothes, my therapist told me Tuesday I look anxious and jittery, I can't sleep! This is just some of the side effects. O I'm on 30mg of prozac and 100mg of wellbutrin sr 2xs a day.
459689 tn?1276570143 25 mgs and started yesterday taking it in the morning so maybe i should just wait and see. i was on prozac 20 mgs daily and did not have this problem. i recently did 2 week long ward stays and i have been unable to sleep since. i ask the doc and he says it is anxiety, i ask about the night sweats and he says the same thing. does anyone else have this problem?
Avatar f tn I'd eat small snacks throughout the day just to play it safe. I was the same way with my first. If I didn't have a snack every few hours I would shake.
Avatar f tn Had bran flakes and watermelon at 10am and by 3pm I was jittery. Why is this? Does it mean I need to snack more often?
Avatar f tn Every morning bout an hour after I eat breakfast I get very jittery, weakness and sometimes nauseated. I have eaten eggs, or banana, or even peanut butter crackers. I have had blood work and drs say it is all good. I had a blood sugar test and it was good. I also just had a h pylori test and it was positive but my symptoms are not the same for that. It has been 2 weeks since my first episode and I have changed my eating habits and drink more water too! I am 52 years old and I am overweight.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with adult add. My doctoe prescribed adderall 20mg a day. It helps a lot with focus & motivation. But when I am at work or in social settings I feel paranoid & xtreme anxiety. My doc said he is upping my prozac that would help with social anxiety. But it will take a month to feel a benefit from that & the adderall will probably just override it. I did not take the adderall todday b4 work. I don't know what to do. Just take adderall on my days off?
Avatar f tn ll get off of the Remeron(generic) I do remember the first time I was on Prozac that it made me very jittery, especially in the morning for about a month. I believe that's why my doctor has kept me on the Remeron..."to bridge the gap between the two meds" as she put it.
268911 tn?1213744781 I cant take any of these meds. I am so screwed. Each one makes me jittery, angry, can't focus or concentrate and they make me sweat like no tomorrow. Anyone else have bad reactions like this?
Avatar n tn I am almost 20 weeks and my dr (psychologist) feels I should go back to taking 20 mg of Prozac (I stopped taking it as soon as I found out I was pg). I am not doing very well without it. However, I know there still is a divided opinion among professionals about taking SSRIs during pregnancy. I also know a fairly recent study showed an increased risk in breathing problems after birth in women who took SSRIs in the 3rd trimester.
Avatar f tn You may not need anything but the Wellbutrin to be honest with you. I have OCD which leads to anxiety and then to depression. I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. It did make me more jittery at first but after about 4-6 weeks, it went away and I feel GREAT!
Avatar n tn I am a 29 yr old female & am currently trying to withdrawal from Lexapro- I was taking Prozac for a couple years then it just wasn't working for me anymore so my Doctor told me to try Lexapro- 10 mg's- I have been on that for almost a year- Everyday on that I felt "out of it" & tired so I really wanted to get off- he told me to take 1/2 pill for a week & then the 2nd week take 1/2 pill every other day & then at the end of the week stop.
