i'm posting a question asking for your medical advice as i've suffered from long term depression since i was 18 as i'm now 38 going through various medication regimes throughout that time. I've previously been on mostly SSRI's ie prozac and seroxat, with in addition dosuphin and amtitrypline. Prozac and seroxat worked well with me for some time until they "pooped out" on me.
In the UK, do they check for dilation? Only really heard it done in USA, and I'm 37 haven't been checked so far!

You said you were getting off the prozac, a little piece of advice, I stopped taking the prozac so I could see the difference with my sex drive, and there was a drastic change.
Some women claim that's its relaxing, but idk. Ftm. In my opinion, it just seems like its to much going on. Child birth is already a lot to deal with, with or without drugs. Now I'm suppose to sit in a tub. Wet. And God knows how long, you're going to be sitting in that tub, swimming in your own filth lol. Idk just me. Props to the women who go that route.
Do as much of your own research as possible. Personally I think it depends on where your from. If you live in places like the UK, water birth. If you live in the states, hospital birth. But of course it's entirely up to you!
I'm not sure about amounts. Over time, I've grown very aware of my hydration level (it even shows up on the scale by 5+ lbs within a day as water is the quickest way your weight will vary). I can tell by "feel" how hydrated I am and the goal is to keep decent and steady hydration level (especially since the "active" stuff in the blood isn't water itself... but other things that take days to build up).
Are you prescribed Zantac? Or, are you talking about the OTC preparation? Zantac is a very safe medication, it probably wouldn't be an issue for you to try it...run it by your doc first.
These meds can cause all kinds of GI Upset, so it could very well be the Prozac. Have you ever been diagnosed with GERD? Have you ever just tried taking a few Tums? That may work also. Tums can be very effective, and they are completely safe.
Make sure you are taking the Prozac as prescribed.

you think so,i have been on prozac since march ttrying totaper off but got scared cause going to alaska,so dr said drop back to 10 mg of prozzac well im not going down to 10 mg ffrom 40 mg in one day i was freaking from cutting back from 50 to 40,,,i will wait till after vacation..some say u dont have to taper off prozac but i have been on it since march 2 and evn my pharmasist said that would be to much off a drop for me as i freak out so much..

The contractions were much easier to manage than on dry land. I live in uk so no issue with insurance. Only issue is that it is really only suitable/offered if a pool is available when you present at hosp in labour and neither mum or baby need additional monitoring. Also, pain meds are limited to gas and air. If you need stronger you need to come out of the water. If you can, I would throughly recommend it! Good luck.
It could be your water, I'd give maternity triage a ring and see what they advise.
