Avatar f tn Currently came off sertraline after five weeks on it it 2 weeks it took the anxiety edge off things then Bang 3 weeks of hell started venlafaxine 37.5mg Tuesday just gone and upped to 75mg Friday anxiety is sky high this weekend and had loads of crying out burst my anxiety is awful in the mornings after taking a zopiclone for sleep I was just wondering if anyone has had anything like benzodiazepines to help with there venlafaxine start up to get you through the first rough couple of weeks?
Avatar f tn It was a reasonable supposition to make, especially since the technique I described is recommended for learning to last longer. They were done no harm by my suggestion. You could take the time to write out the technique you were referring to rather than tell people to go to that absurd and poorly organized website. And please use some more periods in your writing. It's hard to tell what you even want to say past the first few clauses.
1448936 tn?1363206346 My doc and I tried out Klonopin to see if a longer lasting benzo would work for me. I tried for 2 weeks and had to go back to xanax. The klonopin made me feel worse. I felt tired, out of it, no motivation, mental confusion. I absolutely hated it. So i dont know if maybe that has something to do with my heartbeat. Switching my meds around. And its also another reason why im scared to try the prozac. Im so sensitive to meds and so far xanax has been the only thing that hasnt made me feel worse.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how long it takes for prozac to get out of your system, I was only on it for 2 weeks but had very bad side effects from it? My last does was Wed morning and now starting Zoloft. Still feeling very very anxious!! Any comments would help!!
Avatar f tn I took 20 mg of prozac for about 2 1/2 weeks for mild anxiety issues. A few days after taking it I experienced extrememe nausea, absolute lack of appetite, fatigue, and increased anxiety. I knew that these were typical side effects of this drug and stuck it out for a while, and then stopped the drug after 2 1/2 weeks as they were intolerable. I felt miserable and much worse than I did before starting the drug.
Avatar f tn My son was diagnosed with BiPolar disorder when he was 15 after he was referred to a Psychiatrist after I took him to the doctor because his Night Terrors which he had had since the age of 2 were becoming more frequent and harder to bring him out of. The Psych doc prescribed Prozac for him and after only 3 weeks the night terrors had ceased all together but he had started having uncontrollable rage attacks through the day.
Avatar f tn s getting worse and worse and farther away from my period (lasting longer than just the days I have my period). I also have IBS which can account for some of these symptoms, as well as GERD but it seems like I am just TOO sick for IBS and GERD to account for ALL of this. I'm wondering if it's possible for T4 levels to be normal during a test?
Avatar n tn s protocol in which I take 12 pills of Chinese Stress Relief, 6 pills of Super Omega 3 fish oil, 8 pills of liver cleanse and 8 tablespoons of ground flaxseed. I was also told to eat turkey for L Tryptophan. Do you think this is an appropiate treatment for ocd? I had taken an SSRI called Prozac before but I was not able to tolerate it as they used to cause some pressure in my head so my doctor had told me to stop taking the pills. Does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy help ?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your comments. Will give the Prozac a little while longer. What do you think of my doctors advice to switch from one drug to the other without weaning off the first one?
Avatar f tn I, after many years, along w/ my doctor's approval weaned myself off of Paxil 20mg. I had been on it for postpartum depression and just came to rely on it. I weaned myself in March, very slowly.....but then very slowly, the symptoms all came back with anxiety worse than ever. I started on Zoloft, just the minimal dosage, but also knew how well the Paxil had worked for me and after a week on the zoloft and not feeling better I switched right over to the Paxil.
1348086 tn?1370783185 Cymbalta is liver toxic for many and one of the hardest to get off of, while Prozac is one of the easiest to come off of since it stays in the body for a lot longer time and therefore the withdrawal is, for most people, slower and easier. Why not give it a try? It's the only way to find out, really, since we all react differently. Best thing yet is if you can get therapy to work, since all these meds will have their set of problems, especially when taken long term.
Avatar m tn I could take a Beta Blocker to help control the symptoms or Prozac for longer term relief. I opted to start 10 mg Prozac just to get my mind back on track so that I could focus on improving my life vs. worrying about the next panic attack. So I'm currently at day 7 and its been a rough ride to say the least. Previously I was taking the Hydroxyzine for anxiety once a week, I have now taken it three days in a row. The worst is usually during the night and morning.
1348086 tn?1370783185 This is why your psychiatrist wants to see you. For one, Prozac, while being the easiest ssri to come off of, isn't the best for anxiety because it tends to be stimulating. Great place to start because it's got a reputation for being easier to come off of, but not so great for results. If it isn't working, that's what you need to discuss with your doc. If you want to go without meds, then you need to do therapy, which you should be doing even if you're on meds.
Avatar f tn I have a prescription for trazadone but do not want to take because of the interaction with the prozac. Ive been reading about melatonin. Has anyone tried taking it for sleep? Did it help? And will the insomnia from prozac get better and how long would that take?
Avatar f tn I have read that Prozac is more for depression....but I think the Dr was going to put me on it cuz it is easier to get off of? UGH So perhaps I should try the Lexapro? Paxil is done for me, no longer works and gives me bad side effects. If I could I would get off Paxil and just take Klonopin, but I am not sure that is a good plan either.
Avatar m tn ve read on this site that Wellburtrin does not have sexual effects. I took Prozac for many years and had great success...it is a good med.
1094370 tn?1317134825 Hi Everyone: I'm so scared. I have been having tingling issues since early March. Along with that off and on is some numbness in face (that was for about a month but went away), a pulsating type feeling in my left foot and leg, vibrating in my body (happened for about a week but went away), my right foot wants to fall asleep sometimes. Just this last week, it's like my toenail feels numb which I know sounds weird and then the bottom arch area of my left foot feels funny on and off.
Avatar m tn my partner has been on prozac for around 10 years and recently weaned herself of them.4 months down the line she is feeling really low ,is this a side affect of the drug e.g. coming out of her system or should she be considering retking it .she really dosent want to start again. Is there a phone number she can ring or a helpline where she can discuss her symtoms. many thanks A.
Avatar f tn Nobody really knows long-term effects there are (if any) with antidepressants. However, Prozac is the oldest SSRI out there, and people have been on it 20+ years, with no serious long-term effects reported yet. In generally, the SSRI antidepressants appear to be very safe. Though their long-term effects have not been adequately studied. Being on Prozac for 2-3 years should have no lasting detrimental effects. I was on Prozac for 3 years, and I'm now on Lexapro for 2 years.
Avatar n tn There are exercises which will help you last longer as well. Now there are devices which can do the exercises for you also. A really good solution is using the device in conjunction with the exercises for good results. That's what has helped me last longer with my wife.
Avatar f tn I had contractions every ten mins for 18 hours and was only 2cm. My water broke and then i was a 7. It happened quick for me once my water broke.
Avatar f tn Can I take both for a while to wean off of the xanax? I am desperate need to find out. Which one last longer in your system? How long does it take the klonopin to take affect. Longer than the xanax?
Avatar n tn If you have been on Prozac for 9 years then there is a good chance that it has lost it's effect for you. As a result you symptoms of depression may have come back, which is what is causing this depressed, slugish feeling. When my meds stop working then I feel the same way. I'm supprised you even got 9 years from one SSRI medication. They usually poop out by then. These meds don't stay effective forever. after many years your body will find a way to resist the antidepressant.
Avatar f tn I have been taking medication for depression for 39 years. Initially I took elavil for about 20 years. I took prozac unsuccessfully for less than a year. I then took Effexor and later ther Effexor XR. Effexor XR allowed me to live a reasonably normal life raising a child and having a career. For at least 3 years my depression has slowly gotten progressively worse.
