Yes, vivid dreams are quite common with Prozac (and various other type medications). When I took Prozac I would have pretty intense and bizarre dreams. I found taking Prozac in the morning helped minimize this side effect for the same reason. If the dreams become so bad you cannot sleep properly then you'll have to make a decision on what you can stand and what is best for you. I eventually embraced the dreams, knowing they would come and they were not real.

Going to my doc 2 weeks after starting my Prozac. I have had really really strange dreams! Like my ex sister-in-law coming out of a fireplace with rain falling on her and she isn't even wet! I don't own a fireplace in reality! Weird. At least the weepiness seems to have stopped, but then again I am mid cycle and never get weepy then. Only in the days before my period. Have noticed I am a bit manic. Don't seem to be able to shut up talking.

I take Prozac. Your side effects could be from the Prozac, or it could just be anxiety in general. Anxiety can do this to people, weird dreams, waking up in a panic etc. Or it could be the Prozac. I have weird dreams time to time, I have no idea if it is the Prozac, or just me having dreams. I haven't really looked into it. 7 days on Prozac will not relief you from any anxiety. it will take 6-8 weeks. and by the 4th week or so your doctor might have you increase to 20mg instead of 10mg.

I was wanting to get some input from some people who have tried prozac. Have you tried it, if so what was your experience with it, benefits, side effects, etc?

i used to get that but only when i was on prozac. It was like a firestorm of images and thoughts.

interactions between prozac and fentanyl. My husbands meds were recently doubled. Prozac now 40mg and fentanyl 50mcg. and he is now talking in his sleep every night and constantly scratching at himself in his sleep.

I was on Prozac for post natal depression, for 3 years , after several unsuccessful attempts to stop I have now not taken Prozac for 2 months. I felt completely better and had felt brilliant for the required period ( 6 months) before my GP stopped my medication. I was 20 mg a day. However I feel as is I am heading back (albeit slowly) to where I was mentally before. I am feeling short tempered, hard down by, over sensitive, tearful, over emotional, paranoid, insecure.

i am on my 3d week of treatment with prozac and havent seen any big improvement to my depression.on top of this i think i cant come easily in orgasm as a side effect.would you withdraw from prozac in my position or i should give it some time to adjust in my body?

I take 150mg of Efexor XL and have numerous vivid dreams but thankfully no nightmares, is this normal.

I'm going to start taking 10mg Prozac today. If anyone has any experience being on this drug, please share it with me. I don't really know what to expect with it, I've never taken an anti-depressant before. I know a lot of people have bad side effects with it, but I'm really just worried that it won't help me.

d started to experience very frightening and vivid dreams, a couple of days after dropping down to the lower dosage, but nothing much else aside from that. After having not taken the lower dosage for one day, the brain zaps started. Ok, not pleasant, but was prepared for those. Now, a week after having stopped totally, I think I must have experienced vivid dreams, or mild hallucinations during the night, pretty much every night this week.

What I would like to know is there another antidepressant that does not make u gain weight? I tryed prozac forget that my heart raced so bad i almose died.

I have been on Prozac for seven weeks now. The first 4 weeks I was on it was wonderful. I felt light, happy and my anxiety was gone. Suddenly now I am feeling extremely aggressive and violent. I am paranoid as well. I was mildly depressed before I started taking the medication, now I am excessively. Not suicidal, but I don't want to go anywhere, do anything, talk to anyone (including my husband and step kids). And the nightmares. Oh my god the nightmares.

I have been through it trying to figure out if this is even possible. My boyfriend has been taking paxil for over a year, and his last dose he was taking was 40 mg a day. We have moved and couldn't get to the doctor he was seeing. hi ladies- so i've been on doxy for 8 days now after a d&c. i pretty much have a headache all day. and i am really sad. last night i woke up in the middle of the night crying. and all my dreams are very angry and confrontational. this is my last day on doxy. will it stop. i'm even fulling up with tears now.

I've taken most of the antidepressant drugs out there for 20+ years. I started Prozac 10 mg 2 months ago, seemed to level me off, but developed bad am anxiety , a tightness in my chest and heart palpatations. Started 20 mg and ---whoa! worse symptoms with agitation and short temper (almost felt out of body). Went back to 10mg and now I have same symptoms, and can't sleep with vivid dreams. These are the worst side effects I've had on antidepressant drugs.

Thanks for answering and a psychiatrist diagnosed me and I am going to a therapist every two weeks not seeing her in another week tho. Today I woke up with the thoughts in my dreams and making me really scared and anxious I feel like my stomach turns or something horrible feelings.

My doc says it is addictive and only gave me 8 pills..said I needed to be on something else like prozac. Prozac was not good for me..gave me chest pains and blurry vision. Could not sleep or eat while taking it. I've been afraid to try something else for anxiety after my experience with prozac. Could diabetes be detected from blood tests? I would think I've already been tested for it. I was tested for a myriad of thyroid conditions but all came back fine.

I do have one concern, Zoloft is supposedly better for anxiety than Prozac, and I have even heard that Prozac can make anxiety worse. I am confused and dont want to become addicted to having to have a sleep aid, but I start back at my evil (did not used to feel that way) corporation this Monday. I just want to sleep and not stink and not yell at my wife and be sooo agitiated, is that so wrong? I would appreciaite any feedback from the community. This forum has been a life saver for me.
