I would like information regarding the differences between Paxil and Prozac. I've used Paxil in the past, and the truth is that it is very hard to stop taking it. Right now I'm taking only 10mg (paxil) but I don't feel that is working anymore and have been thinking about switching to Prozac.
I have been on Prozac for three months. Thanks for the information I am going to talk to my Dr. about switching medication.
My doctor recently started me on 40 mg of prozac a little over 2 weeks ago. I have taken numerous depression drugs in the past where my doc has started me on a very low dosage and worked me up to higher dosages but on prozac we went straight to 40 mg. I have been having headaches, nausua and dizziness. I thought these symptoms would fade away but I have had no luck. I'm beginning to wonder if this dosage is too high. I don't know anything about prozac....
I just recently started on klonipin my dr. Prescribed 1 mg 2 times a day but it makes me to sedated to the point where I can't function so I changed it to .05 mg a day I feel great am also in Prozac been on for 15 yrs was recently on lorazepam but wasn't working just want to know if that is ok . It was just too much .
Keep in mind that Prozac is different from the other medications you read about. Prozac stays in the body for a long time, and takes a month or two before any withdrawal would be noticed. Therefore, you won't see much information about Prozac withdrawal because if it happens it happens somewhere down the line, and would probably be misdiagnosed as a relapse, not withdrawal.
m no proffessional, but that goes in the same Category as Celexia (spelling) prozac, and lexepro. Very low side effects. Which would tell me that they take a little time to work. I think you'll see with zoloft you'll have very successfull results. Also have read about it being an antiobsessive antidepressant, along with prozac...
Give it more time, it'll work, wouldn't even doubt ater consultation with a proffessional that you could go back to your 50Mg's.
I have been taking Paxill for a while now and it seems to not be working so well anymore. I was wondering if anyone on Prozac could tell me if they are having good results and if Prozac affects there sex drive. The only medication that I tried so far that I didn't have thatsexual problems with was Wellbutrin. Thanks!
6 weeks is more than a comfortable time period to up the Prozac. During my prime anxiety days I was taking 60mg of Prozac. Upping the dosage is something that only you and your doctor can decide on. The few days in a row being a hot mess could have been the side effects too. Hopefully those are all out of the way. I have found.. and this is just my opinion, but all the meds in the world wont make our anxiety go away. Just help us.
If I take the Xanax sporadically, is there a chance that the anxiety can worsen when it wears off, or is this dosage too low and short-term to be of any concern? I have been on the Prozac for about 2-1/2 weeks and I am subject to bouts of anxiety that seem more pronounced than before I was taking the medication. The Xanax helps, but I'm concerned about the potential addiction. Thanks!
my partner has been on prozac for around 10 years and recently weaned herself of them.4 months down the line she is feeling really low ,is this a side affect of the drug e.g. coming out of her system or should she be considering retking it .she really dosent want to start again.Is there a phone number she can ring or a helpline where she can discuss her symtoms.

So basically i was put on prozac 40mg a day. Im 14 and it was liquid prozac. So for liquid prozac for every 5ml you take thats 20mg in pill form. My doctor thought it was for every 5ml of the liquid it is 10mg or the prozac pill form. So anyways.... I told my doctor and she put me back down to 20mg. Now when i was on the 40mg my mind was clear and i was happy. Now..... Since iv been put back on 20mg my thoughts have came back and i fear it wont work again. Any advice?
I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
How long have you been taking the Prozac for? Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to get adjusted to medication. Also my psychiatrist told me alot of people who suffer from anxiety/depression will think the medication is making them worse because the are already struggling with anxiety/depression.
However, some medications just don't work for people, or cause side effects such as fatigue.
If you have been on it for a long time talk to your doctor about upping the dosage or switching medication. I have health anxiety too. When you are having anxiety try to tell yourself.. I know I have anxiety, this is my actual condition that I do have. It is acting up now, breath through it. tell yourself. My doctors ran tests on me and I'M A HEALTHY YOUNG 22 YEAR OLD!!! YAY!
I have finally given in and have begun taking Prozac. I am on day 3. I have also started running. I hope these two things help me finally defeat my ocd.
It seems my ocd likes to ruin everything though. I was hopeful about prozac and beginning a running routine because I thought maybe I can finally overcome my worries. But then I started worrying about side effects of prozac. It brought back my sleepwalking worries...what if I sleepwalk and do something horrible sleep.
My doctor asked me to take Prozac 20 mg to start with and then after few days 1mg of klonopin. Now I am severely affected both by depression and anxiety. Anxiety is too much in the mornings. Night times are some what better. How long will both of them to take effect (Two years back I took, prozac for a year and then stopped it). I would like to know, when will be things are settling down? Should I increase the dosage (after checking with doctor only)?
My physician prescribed Prozac and Xanax and my anxiety shot up...similar to what many of you have shared. I only took it three days. When I told her my reactions and some of the things I learned here she told me I shouldn't feel that way so soon and switched me to Lexapro. Has anyone taken this medication for depression, stress and anxiety?
