Th side effects persist even after a month on the different pill forms too.. Any options left? Or must I suck it up and take a pill that makes me sick or discontinue usage... (I've tried MANY other SSRIs, SNRIs, SDRI, etc... and Prozac has been my "miracle drug" so this *****) thanks!

My doctor recently started me on 40 mg of prozac a little over 2 weeks ago. I have taken numerous depression drugs in the past where my doc has started me on a very low dosage and worked me up to higher dosages but on prozac we went straight to 40 mg. I have been having headaches, nausua and dizziness. I thought these symptoms would fade away but I have had no luck. I'm beginning to wonder if this dosage is too high. I don't know anything about prozac....

I just recently started on klonipin my dr. Prescribed 1 mg 2 times a day but it makes me to sedated to the point where I can't function so I changed it to .05 mg a day I feel great am also in Prozac been on for 15 yrs was recently on lorazepam but wasn't working just want to know if that is ok . It was just too much .

I am one of the people that do not do well on the generic forms of Prozac. Unfortunately, I am again having to go through a hell of a struggle to try and get only that on a special disability benefit despite the fact that there are many medical professionals that agree with me and it is not uncommon for Prozac generics not to work for everyone. I just want what works and what is cheap. However in this case the cheap doesn't work although in other medications I have no trouble with generics.

m no proffessional, but that goes in the same Category as Celexia (spelling) prozac, and lexepro. Very low side effects. Which would tell me that they take a little time to work. I think you'll see with zoloft you'll have very successfull results. Also have read about it being an antiobsessive antidepressant, along with prozac... Give it more time, it'll work, wouldn't even doubt ater consultation with a proffessional that you could go back to your 50Mg's.

I have been taking Paxill for a while now and it seems to not be working so well anymore. I was wondering if anyone on Prozac could tell me if they are having good results and if Prozac affects there sex drive. The only medication that I tried so far that I didn't have thatsexual problems with was Wellbutrin. Thanks!

6 weeks is more than a comfortable time period to up the Prozac. During my prime anxiety days I was taking 60mg of Prozac. Upping the dosage is something that only you and your doctor can decide on. The few days in a row being a hot mess could have been the side effects too. Hopefully those are all out of the way. I have found.. and this is just my opinion, but all the meds in the world wont make our anxiety go away. Just help us.

my partner has been on prozac for around 10 years and recently weaned herself of them.4 months down the line she is feeling really low ,is this a side affect of the drug e.g. coming out of her system or should she be considering retking it .she really dosent want to start again.Is there a phone number she can ring or a helpline where she can discuss her symtoms. many thanks A.

So basically i was put on prozac 40mg a day. Im 14 and it was liquid prozac. So for liquid prozac for every 5ml you take thats 20mg in pill form. My doctor thought it was for every 5ml of the liquid it is 10mg or the prozac pill form. So anyways.... I told my doctor and she put me back down to 20mg. Now when i was on the 40mg my mind was clear and i was happy. Now..... Since iv been put back on 20mg my thoughts have came back and i fear it wont work again. Any advice?

so is that dangerous several pharmists have told me lots of people are on adderall prozac and xanx..dr upped the prozac to 20 mg in am and 20 mg at 2 pm....plus when i saw him he said since i was so unhappy about not drinking anymore (its been 2 1/2 years) he said to drink two beers a night and chill and live like i used to happy....for 6 years i drank beer with xaanx and depakote..but im kinda scared about drinking even though i miss it so much and i was the happiest person those years...

im on my 3rd day of no prozac..i read on line where the 450 mg is not unusual..i may need that much with out the prozac..i dont know i just want my sexx liofe back..the hormones and thyroid problem was finally found and i believe thats whats been going on all these years,not depresssion.

I used to take Prozac for my severe depression, but after 3 months at a high dosage I gave up on it because it failed to work at all. Then again most antidepressant are not strong enough to work for my level of depression, so I may not be the best one to ask. Prozac works pretty good for some people. Either way, you have 5 more weeks to go before you will even know if it's going to work.

How long have you been taking the Prozac for? Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to get adjusted to medication. Also my psychiatrist told me alot of people who suffer from anxiety/depression will think the medication is making them worse because the are already struggling with anxiety/depression. However, some medications just don't work for people, or cause side effects such as fatigue.

If you have been on it for a long time talk to your doctor about upping the dosage or switching medication. I have health anxiety too. When you are having anxiety try to tell yourself.. I know I have anxiety, this is my actual condition that I do have. It is acting up now, breath through it. tell yourself. My doctors ran tests on me and I'M A HEALTHY YOUNG 22 YEAR OLD!!! YAY!

I switched to prozac which over time made my anxiety worse.. I went off prozac in March 2010 and my anxiety came back hard! I lost a lot of weight and couldn't eat :( I started Celexa 3 weeks ago @2.5mg. I know that is a low dose, but I am very med sensitive.. I have noticed a 50% reduction in my panic episodes, Unfortunately, I still have abdominal cramping, morning anxiety and little to no appetite. I am taking Klonopin (.25 2x a day) which helps somewhat but leaves me feeling sleepy.

My physician prescribed Prozac and Xanax and my anxiety shot up...similar to what many of you have shared. I only took it three days. When I told her my reactions and some of the things I learned here she told me I shouldn't feel that way so soon and switched me to Lexapro. Has anyone taken this medication for depression, stress and anxiety?

ve probably heard is that Prozac, because it stays in the body a fairly long time while the other ssris, particularly Paxil, leave the body very quickly, is thought not to have as bad a withdrawal problem so some psychiatrists, after tapering your Paxil dosage down, will try to substitute Prozac so as to take you off the Prozac rather than the Paxil. Whether this works or not is very individual. Either way, you'll have to start a slow taper off Paxil first.

hi since march 3 i have been on prozac and xanax i have depression and anxiety...im a bit bettter but my dr said prozac is very stimulating and im not finding that im still depressed and dragging around....are others on prozac and xanxax with luck.....dr is thinking of adding a amphetimine when i next go back to see him...im thinking like ritalin or something....its been almost a month shouldnt i feel better...does xanax make the prozac not help with depression or something?

I was wanting to get some input from some people who have tried prozac. Have you tried it, if so what was your experience with it, benefits, side effects, etc?
