got a new dr in may cause old one retired he had me try to up prozac and trouble with that so his asso. had me totally stop the prozac and go on wellbutrin sr 150am and pm,,,,after a week i was having prozac withdrawals so back on prozac i went and still on wellbutrin to be honest i dont know if my depression is something else cause neither brought me up or were stimulating..my new dt thinks i have slight add..anywayas i have been tapering off the prozac 10 mg a week per dr...

Hi I am 20 years old and have been taking prozac for a month and can not have sex and my girl thinks its her fault and it gets me mad cause I was to but its just impossible pretty much. My doctor gave me Wellbutrin 100mg SR tabs and said it should counter act the sexual side effects anyone know how long this should take to come into effect?
m a 16 year old boy and i was prescribed topamax 25mg for migraines over a year ago. A few months ago i was also prescribed wellbutrin 300mg and prozac 10mg for depression and anxiety. When I first started taking the topamax i hardly sweated. I did start sweating a fair amount before taking the wellbutrin and prozac but the sweating has just increased since then and i've been getting large stains on my armpits just from sitting in class.
maybe if i stay on the higher dose of prozac it wil helpo my depression and no energy been on wellbutrin since june 10 no energy from it or the 5 mg adderaall im a lost cause
Like you i am on Wellbutrin 150 mg amd 20mg of Prozac i do well on both have been for 2 yrs now. The prozac makes me tired i tried no prozac and 1 wellbutrin in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. I had more energy but i was snapping at everyone and being hateful so went back on the prozac my Dr. said the prozac dosnt make you tired but my body says the different.
Hi I am a 30 year old male. I am on Meds for panic disorder/social anxiety disorder and depression. I'm on a bit of a cocktail, Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Prozac,Propanol, a goal of my MD and mine is to make the cocktail smaller. I am fortunate to have a great doc who actually does 45minute sessions. He listens and wants to know what is going on in the patients life, wants the patients input on Meds. He is not a drive thru doc like I hear about and have experienced who sees 4 patients an hour.
recently found out my problem it thyroid and hormones.Anyways im going off prozac and Im down to 10 mg and 150 mg wellbutrin sr 2 times a day.after a few weeks of cutting ftom 2 prozac i feel funny so i go back to 2,my dr wants me to instead of going back to 2 proxac to up my wellbutrin to 2 150 mg in am and 1 in pm..which makes 450 mg/she said it is abit over normal amount of wellbutrin sr..
m on 10mg of Prozac and have noticed some weight gain within the past 2 months or so and my doctor has suggested I start taking Wellbutrin along with the Prozac but my biggest concern is having panic attacks. I suffer from panic disorder w/ agoraphobia and the Prozac has been helping but I'm afraid that adding on the Wellbutrin may counteract that. (I know it is considered a stimulant for a lot of people - hence the usual weight loss.
Since adding wellbutrin on june 10th to my prozac which i am now up to 50 mg and xanax and adderall i have devolped a tummy...its fat i have never had this problem before Im still feeling depressed but functioning...dont see my dr for 3 months,i would like to just go off meds,im taking a vitamin b cpmplex now and emergenc hoping the vitamins will help....
i just want to discontinue the wellbutrin and go back to taking my prozac, but the last dr i saw said that i had to wean off the wellbutrin comletely before i can even start my prozac..so that means it will be atleast ten days before i can START to get back to normal. i wanted to know can i go ahead and start my prozac while weaning off the wellbutrin and are there gonna be side effects if i were to just stop taking the wellbutrtin without weaning?
im doing ok feel abit anxious but im on xanax also and wellbutrin..im wondering if the wellbutrin alone will help the depression..has anyone had sucess with that.i was also recently put on the estradiol hormone patch...i want a sex life and happiness..
My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? She has some aniexty and depression ?Her hands shake after wellbutrin,but doctor said to try and see if it subsides after body gets use to it.Please let me know if this combination is used alot?

I have switched from prozac to wellbutrin xl due to sexual side affects. Prozac worked great for everything else for the past 11 years. I have been on Wellbutrin for 3 days and have severe insomnia, constipation and dizziness. Will these side effects last long? Will they go away eventually?
There's two issues here. First, you don't say why your psychiatrist added the wellbutrin. Often it's added to an ssri when there are weight or sexual side effects. Or it could be because the Prozac is working but not well enough, so the drug is augmented. Or, it could be the Prozac has stopped working and you don't need another drug, you need either a higher dose or it's stopped working and you need to taper off and try something else. So that's the first issue.
MY DOCTOR PUT ME ON WELLBUTRIN, I HAVE BEEN TAKING 20 MG PROZAC FOR A YEAR.. SHE TOLD ME TO JUST QUIT TAKING THE PROZAC ALL TOGETHER..
Have tried most all of them 15 years ago and Prozac seemed to be the one that worked without severe side effects and it worked very well at 20 mgs, then pooped out a several months ago.
Upping the dose didn't work either. I suffer from mild anxiety, panic and social phobia, Prozac worked great all those years and now symptoms are coming back. even more severe than before.
i was on wellbutrin and prozac for 2 months and cut them cold turkey to take another antidepressant zoloft. it's been 4 days and still no symtomps.
got the bad dierehha and the odd walking again..prozac has zapped my sex drive me and hubby havebt had sex bit once since the prozac so dr mentioned he might add wellbutrin later...he also switched me from adderall to ritalin and im on xanx for anxiety.both of these drs told me 2 light beers is ok ..i was reading up on wellbutrin and it says it can cause seizures and alchol could add to the seizure effect...i ask my pharmist and he said thats very rare..
Hi there, I read through your comments and am experiencing the same. I was taking Prozac and it worked really well on my OCD and anxiety. I gained 30 lbs from taking Prozac, and I noticed I was always so tired. My Dr switched me to Wellbutrin. I'm on 100 mg and I take two a day, plus one Prozac. I'm on my 3rd week now. I felt pretty good on the 3rd and 4th day. I noticed I'm able to wake up early in the morning and that I had more energy. I even lost 5 lbs so far.
I'm glad you said Prozac, because I was on Paxil, and I gained a lot of weight on it. Please give Prozac a chance. Don't listen to friends. You have to have some faith in the doctor you're seeing. It takes about 4 weeks before you'll notice the full effect of the medication. Also, the doctor may or may not change the dosage when he/she sees you next. You have to be patient. Antidepressants take time. Prozac is a pretty good antidepressant.
You seems to be a very anxious person and you are using a lot of stimulants. Wellbutrin is stimulating, Adderall is stimulating and Prozac is thought to be a rather stimulating SSRI compared to the other SSRIs. That being said I think your anxiety must be to the roof and I would gradually reduce the Prozac like you are doing and maybe halting the tapering the week before and during your vacations to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms but you may still get withdrawal symptoms.
I wasn't on anything before and I got put on wellbutrin, prozac and klonipin. I took prozac for a long time before. The only thing I never took before was the wellbutrin. I am still having these twitches all over my body. I am also extremely aggitated. I have been talking to my physician, but he doesn't know. I don't see my psychiatrist for a few more weeks. This is really scaring me. I hope it is the wellbutrin.
