Dosages for prozac range from 20Mgs a day up to 60Mgs a day. You can expect it to be between 3 to 6 weeks before any theraputic effects of the Prozac kick in. The most common side effects are Dry mouth, (almost everyone gets this) and either constipation or Diareea. That one kind of depends on the person.

My psychiatrist put me in prozac and buspar. Are these two good together? Do they have interactions? Has anyone else taken these together?

I was sober off everything during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Lately, I have been abusing 1000 mg vicodin and I take about 3 a day. I am in pain, but it has turned into recreational and possibly physical addiction. I also take an occasional xanax as well. Have I hurt any aspect of the baby's development. Some evidence comes from animal studies, but how these relate to humans is still unresolved (as far as I know; I been out of the loop for a couple years. In animal studies, melatonin does decrease levels of fluoxetine, but the significance of this is in question. A molecule related to fluoxetine, fluvoxamine (Luvox) naturally increases blood levels of melatonin.

I'm currently taking xanax, and will start prozac tomorrow. Does anyone know of any possible interaction between xanax and prozac taken together? My doctor says he's not aware of anything, But I just wanted to get some opinions from people who may have first hand knowledge or know of someone who does. So I guess do benzos and ssri's mix well? I'm on zoloft and I sometimes take my moms vicodin/percocet for pain and I'm just wondering is it safe to take these combinations together? Basically: Zoloft+Vicodin= safe? Zoloft+Percocet= safe? Will the Vicodin or Percocet decrease the effects of the Zoloft? OR can it cause permanent brain damage? I took 2 Vicodin's a couple days ago and then took 1 Zoloft pill an hour later and I started to feel weird/loopy. Could I have caused permanent brain damage?

Has anyone experienced breathing problems with Zoloft. Youknow, the "I can't quite catch my breath" feeling. And if you yawn you finally get enough air. My heart and lungs have checked out fine. Other than that , I feel much better for since being on it for 2weeks. Also, any thoughts on the sucess of other meds besides zoloft? Prozac? Lexapro?

I was diagnosed with PVC's 15 years ago and was put on Metoprolol 25 mg. I've now been diagnosed with depression and was prescribed Prozac 10 mg which I'm afraid to take now because of the drug interactions I've seen on the internet with these two drugs. Can I run into problems by combining these two drugs.

Hi i'm on Prozac and trazodone if you start on a low dose of trazodone it shouldn't be an issue and there really is no interaction with trazodone and Prozac because I've been on trazodone and Prozac for years and I've never had a problem you just have to take it like maybe you're better off just taking half a tablet or something

ive been taking vicodin quite often and i was just wondering if i could go to my therapist and ask if there is any type of anti-depressant i could take that would sort of give me the same effect ? i just want to be happy... is what i'm asking for even possible?

I am currently on 20 mg of prozac and .5 of xanax. The insomnia from the prozac is crazy. I have a prescription for trazadone but do not want to take because of the interaction with the prozac. Ive been reading about melatonin. Has anyone tried taking it for sleep? Did it help? And will the insomnia from prozac get better and how long would that take?

I recently got off Vicodin on January 2nd. It became addictive. I've been on Xanax for 10 years and I am tapering. I'm taking 1-1/2 mg. per day and I started taking Prozac at 10 mg. per day a week ago. I am experiencing racing thoughts, discomfort with my heart beating, clammy, smoky taste in my mouth after sleeping, horrible Anxiety buzz (Which begins with the racing thoughts), sore temple, tightness in head.

I am taking 200mg Lyrica daily, plus 20mg Prozac, and Vicodin 5/500 as needed. I am miserable today - hurt all over I have a dr appt tomorrow morning but today is still long. I'm out of Vicodin and I have had a few 8 mg Dilaudid hanging around for awhile because a friend gave them to me. Has anyone had this combination of drugs? I need something but I am afraid the Lyrica and Prozac might interact with Dilaudid. Has anyone used Dilaudid to manage Fibro pain?

Kicking log day 10: After a very negative interaction with prozac, I had to cease 20mg oxycodone cold turk. Bad thing for me, couldn't wean down because if the adverse reaction which seems to have made my w/d longer resulting in fatigue, insomnia, horrendous migraines, restlessness, fever, nausea, and stage 4 - terminal RLS. Have decided to cut off my legs, but am now sure best way to do so. I am thinking maybe a circular saw, but fear that might leave me with soreness.

Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. As Kirk says, this may take some trial and error on your part and your doctors. But, I would check into the interaction part of prozac and your med.

would pain lasting a week be the heart or my anxiety,im on xnax for anxiety and prozac for depression..i have had these pains in previous years but not as bad and im having anxiety bad so i dont know if that amking it worse,,,,my blood presure and heart rate is good i do have slight ischemai of the heart and high colerstrral.......

nursegirl is right abt the warning and IMO your pharmacist should have flagged this...so be sure and talk to them and your doctor too....

Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.

21 female ive been taking vicodin unperscribed for about 2-3 years...theyre just so easy to find..sometimes im not even looking for them and i come across them and even if i resist the temptation at first i already kno where they are so i end up goin back n getting them..none of my friends know this about me and no one in my family knows this about me but I am high all the time and I don't like it anymore. Dr gave me a script for trazadone. But i have decided not to take it because of the high interaction with prozac. The whole seretonin syndrome thing and all. Im wondering if the prozac is making me have the insomnia? I know it can be a side effect, but geez. A key to getting thru any illness is letting your body rest. How can that happen on so little sleep? One good thing is i am better than i was a week ago.

I am presently taking 40 mg of Prozac a day for depression. After going to a neurologist for carpal tunnel and trigger thumb, he prescribed 50 mg of Tramadol HCL a day for the pain. Is this safe? Everything I read about these two drugs, is telling me these should not be taken together. Should I take the Tramadol or not? Please help as I have to have something for the pain in my hands and fingers.
