Hello, i'm a 16 year old boy and i was prescribed topamax 25mg for migraines over a year ago. A few months ago i was also prescribed wellbutrin 300mg and prozac 10mg for depression and anxiety. When I first started taking the topamax i hardly sweated. I did start sweating a fair amount before taking the wellbutrin and prozac but the sweating has just increased since then and i've been getting large stains on my armpits just from sitting in class.
im sure i spelled thsi wrong but i have some sweating off and on on my prozac and i have been switched on so many meds lately im wondering if i might have serotonyin syndrome....my dr is gpoing to up my prozac from 20 mg to 40 mg (I have been on prozac since march 3 and also xanax...before that i had been on ativan since may 09,,and in jan a dr tried me on lithium depakote and zyprexa all during the month of jan....
I have had excessive head sweating for the past 2 years,i am post menopause and very active.I do not feel comfortble enough anymore to enjoy life no one wants to hug a sweathog!!I take zoloft for panic attacks and vasotech 5mg daily for bp which has never been over 140/80 but Dr. said it was time to watch it.I may be 15lbs overweight but i could sweat that off tonight. I was a chronic prescribed diet pill user[tenuate] but stopped three years ago with no problem.
Yes, vivid dreams are quite common with Prozac (and various other type medications). When I took Prozac I would have pretty intense and bizarre dreams. I found taking Prozac in the morning helped minimize this side effect for the same reason. If the dreams become so bad you cannot sleep properly then you'll have to make a decision on what you can stand and what is best for you. I eventually embraced the dreams, knowing they would come and they were not real.
I had sweating with Effexor and Cymbalta. It's not just the discomfort; you don't want to add sweating if you already have oily skin - breakouts. I think Prozac caused it, but I'm not sure. I'm currently getting by with a very low dose of amitriptyline. Not a lot of sweating with it, but it can cause weight gain and constipation. I need to gain weight right now, so it's okay.
i take Wellbutrin and Prozac. They make me sweat. So my doc suggested I take them at night instead of morning so I'm not at work or in public sweating like an animal lol. It seems to have helped with the sweating so far. Will my system be going through a chemical change for a while due to the switch? The past few days I have been going through some harsh depression,symptoms. Awake all night sleep all day my place is a royal mess I can't stand it.

He also had a lot of health issues going on that same year, and we believe the prozac was tangled up and at least increasing his stomach pain. He missed three weeks of school in February, because it was so intense he could barely sit up. After stopping the prozac, he's doing better, although he does have other health issues so he does still have some on-and-off stomach pain.

So it may or may not be your medication. At first on Prozac it was a little hard to fall asleep and stay asleep, and my mouth was always dry, but it goes away after a couple of weeks. My fiance's mother takes 20mg of Prozac and gets a little nauseus and drowsy for a while, so it could be. You should talk with your doctor to see, maybe you just need to switch your medication.
P.S. My anxiety made me worry that every little thing going on with me was the medication screwing with me.
When I got home I started throwing up more, and started sweating, I felt hot(stuffy) and cold (shivers) at the same time, started having major anxiety issues, hyperventilating, and my extremities were going dumb. The nausea was extreme. My mother came over and my husband came home early to take me to the emergency room. He called my doctor and he told me to go ahead and take the 37.5. I'm going back to see him soon. I thought I took it very slow but apparently not.
but after being on so many meds in jan u know depakote,lithium,and zyprexa and now prozac im worried about seritonin syndrome...since being on the prozac i sweat alot...i think i did read thats a side effect....im doing more but im also kinda feel more sadness so my dr is upping the prozac from 20 mg to 40 mg.....im a bit worried about that as usual......i just feel so discouraged that nothing is gonna work.....and i cant take prozac in the day its makes me zonked...my dr was surprised by that..
Yes, Cymbalta is an snri and Prozac an ssri. As they both target serotonin, it would be very unusual to combine them, as the above post makes clear. Because docs and psychiatrists often do very strange things with drugs, if you've been prescribed both of these it would be good to find out why and make sure the doc knows what he or she is doing.
I've been taking Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) for a few years now and about 6 months ago I upped my dosage. My sex drive on the lower dose was already low, but now it's almost non-existent. At first it wasn't a problem because I haven't been seeing anyone, but now that I am I would really like to try and fix this problem.
Since I'm female feel like this is going to be a more difficult process.
Would anyone know of any supplements that can help this side effect??
I had horrible episodes with my PVC's when I came off of Paxil. I'm not exactly sure why, but my body does better with prozac than paxil. Nearly every time that I have had an "attack" of SVT it was during a time when I was trying to wean off of paxil. Mostly I would just go back on the paxil and decide, well, it's better on than off. Then I got permission to switch to Prozac and I haven't been brave enough to try coming off of that yet.
I'd like to start off by saying that i'm 17 and male. Last night I was just watching youtube when all of the sudden everything changed. In a split second I went from happy/giggly to a full on throwing up, sweating, shaking, disorienting attack.
any imput...also i have dierehha on prozac and they say thats not a real common side efffect and the last week a headache i thought all side effets happened when u first started a medication..and im still feeling depression and its been almost a month on the 3rd since i started...any have this experience before does it take longer than a month to work.
So FINALLY this week she decided we should stop the lisinopril at least and see if my bp stays down. BUT she suggested adding Prozac.
All my tests and blood work have been clear amazingly enough so there doesn't appear to be a real health issue. She now believes it was triggered by anxiety. She is giving me a week to read about Prozac and consider it. She did tell me there were side effects but said its "gentle".
I am able to live with my attacks (which can get really bad at times) and I actually have a fear of taking meds. I think the only thing I will take is a child's dose of tylenol only when I have a fever or migrane. I have discovered that taking Vitamin B Complex capsules have helped reduce my stress and anxiety levels. Also, I still love taking Flinstone vitamins, on top of the vit B complex. I feel great when I don't miss out in taking one a day.
The Dr said this would go away once the prozac fully kicked in , but its been a month and nothing. I know the prozac is helping but i have ups and downs all day. If I sit at home by myself for an hr or two i will feel depression and or anxiety. I guess my question is..... do you think that I should request a higher mg of prozac (20) or keep giving the 10mg pills a try? I hate having to try so hard to not feel depressed.
Hi i'm on Prozac and trazodone if you start on a low dose of trazodone it shouldn't be an issue and there really is no interaction with trazodone and Prozac because I've been on trazodone and Prozac for years and I've never had a problem you just have to take it like maybe you're better off just taking half a tablet or something
I am an 18 year old girl. I was on prozac for maybe a week, only 20 mgs but i was taking it every day and it was not prescribed to me, it was my moms old prescription so i guess that was a very stupid decision. I smoked a tiny bit of pot on it, literally one hit, and about an hr later I started having heart palps and tremors- major anxiety. It was soo bad i couldnt even breathe. I was sweating and shaking uncontrollably. Ever since that I have just not been quite right.
