My doctor started me on 1 pill a day 20mg of Prozac. He said after a week take 2 a day. But the nausea in the morning was so bad. Granted it had only been 2 almost 3 weeks since I started those. I told my doctor and he switched me to 5mg of lexapro. I wanna know if that nausea goes away after I get used to Prozac I’m just not sure what to do. Other than the nausea I was feeling good. I want to know if anyone has had the same issue.
I've been on Prozac for a week to help with Effexor withdrawal. I am very nauseous and have no appetite. My doctor told me this is a temporary side effect. How long does it usually last?
Hi, I am taking 60mg Prozac in the morning (past 4 weeks) and then 100mg Lithium (down from 200) with .5mg Clonazepam at bedtime for depression. Since upping the prozac from the original 20 I find that i feel quite nausious in the mornings often with the need to pass loose motions 3 or 4 times. It does fade a bit during the day but I'm not sure what may be causing this. Any ideas?
m a 16 year old boy and i was prescribed topamax 25mg for migraines over a year ago. A few months ago i was also prescribed wellbutrin 300mg and prozac 10mg for depression and anxiety. When I first started taking the topamax i hardly sweated. I did start sweating a fair amount before taking the wellbutrin and prozac but the sweating has just increased since then and i've been getting large stains on my armpits just from sitting in class.
I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
This is my 12th day on Prozac and my anxiety is at an all time low. The first few days on Prozac I started to feel better (could have been placebo effect.). Now for the past week its starting to make me depressed because I feel like this is never going to get better. The Prozac seems to be making it worse. I have no appetite whatsoever, dry mouth and slight nausea.
Nobody really knows long-term effects there are (if any) with antidepressants. However, Prozac is the oldest SSRI out there, and people have been on it 20+ years, with no serious long-term effects reported yet. In generally, the SSRI antidepressants appear to be very safe. Though their long-term effects have not been adequately studied. Being on Prozac for 2-3 years should have no lasting detrimental effects. I was on Prozac for 3 years, and I'm now on Lexapro for 2 years.
She fears she will have nausea and vomiting during school and it makes her anxious ALL DAY. We tried reading books about other tweens with anxiety, meditation, school pass for the guidance counselor when anxiety starts and talking with two counselors who taught her deep breathing. We then resorted to Prozac when her pediatrician saw our attempts. She's only on day 6 of it, but the stomach aches this is causing are unbearable to her, causing her more anxiety.
The side effects have been horrible. I was prescribed Prozac about 2 months ago. I was in it for 3 weeks and decided to get off of it because it made me extremely depressed, very confused, increased anxiety, angry, and visual disturbances. Now ever since I stopped the Prozac I have been a completely different person. I have been off the Prozac for over a month now. Idk if Prozac can still be withdrawing out of my system after only being on it for 3 weeks. I would think not but idk.
If you had success with Prozac before, chances are you will again. I'm 62 and was just switched from Celexa to Prozac. But we can build up a tolerance to these types of medications and often switching to a new one is best. I haven't heard anything about there being a medication better for us older folks, but maybe someone can jump on here and enlighten both of us. Effexor is widely used with great success but it still comes back to what will work best for each of us individually.
the doctors put on prelosec, zantac, and prozac thinking it was do to anxiety. But it has not been working. We saw another doctor and he put him on meds. for abdominal migraine. That is not working either. The syptoms are worse around 4:00pm . He trys to relief it by going to the bathroom. But most on the time it does not work. He does burp and pass gas with this syptom. I am starting to think it is something really bad. He sometime cries because the nausea is so bad and he turns white.
I was having really bad menopause symptoms, anxiety, nausea,loss of appetite and insomnia. So the doc put me on 10 mg prozac about 16 days ago... And then ambien for sleep. He told me the start up of prozac does this..gets worse before better. Then regarding the norco...I realized I was taking it on an empty stomach at night... Which can make you nauseating. So I decided I want off of it...I am tapering the doc though that would be a good idea. Anyway... I'm really sick...
hi i have had anxiety problems since i was 13. i started taking paxil and it did great for years. i switched to prozac because my mom didnt want me on paxil any longer because it was said to cause suicidal thoughts in kids. after 3 weeks of prozac i felt terrible.
