prozac and memory

I have been on Prozac20 mg for almost 9yrs, Wellbutrin 300 mg bid for about 5 yrs , and Aderrall 30mg SR for 2 yrs. For the last 4yrs i have experienced significant memory loss, word finding difficult, decreased concentration, night sweats and still feel depressed. The Aderall no longer works. I think the Prozac is causing the memory problems and brain fog. My providers says it's not the Prozac. I'm thinking of weaning myself off the prozac first and then the Adderall.

Hello, I went on prozac and then my life totally changed and I felt great. So I went off of it. but then in the past few months I got depressed again. I'm thinking I should go back on it.

Well know I know I do have MS and all those symptoms were likely a relapse and the relapse cleared and it looked like I needed an anti depressant. But it was far more likely MS Relapse-Remission. Prozac are not steroids so id doesn't treat the inflamation of a relapse, so it may have slowed my MS down but I do not think it treated that exacerbation. I think MS went into remission again & it looked very much like I had been successfully diagnosed and treated for depression....

I am a 22 year old female and I have struggled with anxiety for 7 years, following the death of my father. I have been on and off antidepressants (prozac mostly) and benzodiazepines (klonopin) for a few years. Over the last few weeks, my anxiety has gotten progressively worse. My doc put me back on 10 mg Prozac, but I got extremely sick from it and had to stop taking it. During the last few weeks I've been experiencing a lot of brain fog.

fatigue [no other lab testing done] Around 1 month ago, I started Prozac to deal with the depression and worrying that resulted from this illness. Prozac is pretty effective, but it makes me very sleepy. My testosterone was low before this happened though. Do you guys have any explanation for the weight loss and reduction in testosterone levels? The loss in testosterone and weight is very large given the time span. What are some suggestions? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Since January I have been experiencing very vivid dreams, typically involving daily tasks- namely school assignments and simple work tasks I'd planned like telephoning someone for work-related issues or finances, etc. The problem is (aside from the boring, mundane content of these dreams) they would convince me I'd completed these tasks when conscious.

No meds and it is the evil twin that goes through the day mad, vocal and distrustful. I take Clonazepam for sleep and it stopped the horrible nightmares and memory next day of the dream which set up the day for a bad run. I seldom even remember what I dreamed and my wife feels far more relaxed at night now with me. (No more hitting, kicking, screaming at night).

He started gradually bringing the prozac down. He told me I should recognize the signs of being depressed now, and seek help if I saw those signs. He told me if I wanted to go back on Prozac that I should just make an appointment with him and he would prescribe it again. Then he asked me if I had any questions. And I said yes I did. I asked him in that first appointment when he had asked me to repeat the words he said earlier in the appointment. Did I get the words right?

Since lowering the dose, I have lost some weight and started feeling better until the panic started recently. Would you recommend switching to Prozac instead? I am ALWAYS sleepy with Paxil and have become a real procrastinator - not to mention the short-term memory issues and sexual side effect - which have improved with the lower dosing as well.

I have been suffering from OCD since childhood. Yesterday, I finally gathered the courage to go to a psychiatrist when a particular thought was getting too obsessive. It is basically a false memory of I swearing on my mom that I won't talk to my girlfriend and that is making me break-up with her. My mind tells me I sweared on her that I won't talk to my GF. The doctor has given Daxid 50mg and Naptril 0.25mg.

I forgot to say that I am 50 prozac, .5 mg Clonazapin, and a generic for Ambien for sleep. I know from the past depression has caused memory loss. I know I feel foggy sometimes. I can really sense the fogginess from the drugs. Some days I am very alert, energetic, and if I am tired and something has bothered me that I ignore, I will feel foggy. I went to see my therapist the other day. He wants to give a memory test.

with meds it's always trial& error i take zoloft 50mg/day for anxiety and depression i took prozac in '94 and it was not for me people respond differently to meds what might work for me might not work for you.

t working anymore and the Wellbutrin is making me very sick with dizziness, shaking, headache, and memory loss. My head feels numb. My question is, does Prozac have low side effects like Zoloft but does it work better? And should I be taking a SSRI or SNRI for depression and anxiety, what works better with less side effects?

in my expirience, drinking makes my anxiety/ocd worse for a few days after. I haven't drank in a year, but when i did, the next few days i was so nervous and anxious i couldn't function. and yes, xanax and drinking can cause liver and kidney problems over time, and in excess can cause overdose.

When I was taking Prozac I didnt gain weight.Paxcel made me gain some though.

I am able to live with my attacks (which can get really bad at times) and I actually have a fear of taking meds. I think the only thing I will take is a child's dose of tylenol only when I have a fever or migrane. I have discovered that taking Vitamin B Complex capsules have helped reduce my stress and anxiety levels. Also, I still love taking Flinstone vitamins, on top of the vit B complex. I feel great when I don't miss out in taking one a day.

I would take it and go about my day and then have no memory. Like I would forget I had called people and when they told me I would still not remember.(I was on a very small dosage) It also increased my anxiety after a few months of use and my dr said that is uncommon.

The Dr said this would go away once the prozac fully kicked in , but its been a month and nothing. I know the prozac is helping but i have ups and downs all day. If I sit at home by myself for an hr or two i will feel depression and or anxiety. I guess my question is..... do you think that I should request a higher mg of prozac (20) or keep giving the 10mg pills a try? I hate having to try so hard to not feel depressed.

Hi i'm on Prozac and trazodone if you start on a low dose of trazodone it shouldn't be an issue and there really is no interaction with trazodone and Prozac because I've been on trazodone and Prozac for years and I've never had a problem you just have to take it like maybe you're better off just taking half a tablet or something

First of all, you shouldn't just stop taking antidepressants without discussing it with your doctor. Fortunately, you weren't on the Prozac long enough and you were at a very low dose, so you didn't experience the nasty effects of going cold turkey off these types of meds. Prozac can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to reach "steady state" in your body. That is the point at which it will begin to help you.

) This last week I told the Doctor that I wanted to try something diffrent, so he put me on prozac, OMG for 3 days I was crazy, nothing was working right. Up and down all night, dizziness, eyes blured, allful, allful, allful... Now back to effexor, my question is after being off it for 3 days and taking just one pill 75mg will I have to start over with all this hellish feelings?

I have been on and off prozac for 4 years and i now am experiencing heartburn. I take 20mg at night because it makes me dizzy but i dont get the heartburn until the afternoon the next day. I was wondering is it safe to take ranitidine 150mg effervescent? I took it all the time when needed before being back on prozac and it works i was wondering does it cause any side affect?
