provigil

1710955 tn?1309446473 The propanolol increases the Provigil in the blood. I only take 100 mg. of Provigil. I have tried other medicines for fatigue and they don't work for me. I don't have any adverse effect and it actually makes me feel human. Typically, the medicines used for attention deficit disorder or ADHD are used to combat fatigue.
Avatar f tn I went to my pcp yesterday, had one of my very violent myoclonic jerks while she had me on the exam table and I nearly gave her a heart attack. But, she began to realize that some weird stuff was going on with me and called a neurologist and had me go see him an hour later. He was a little disappointing in that he was more interested in talking about horses (I board horses) than talking about my symptoms.
Avatar f tn My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious. I've tried reducing the dosage tohalf and making sure I eat before taking it but at the very least I still feel sort of buzzed. I've been on it 5 days.
Avatar m tn In the end, I was tested for sleep apnea and ended up being diagnosed with RLS, which can cause the same symptoms. The provigil worked great, but like Eagle said, it is very expensive. It supposedly has less addictive properties from meth, but I can see where it would be abused and it is. My advice, talk with your doctor, if he/she thinks it is something that is right for you, give it a try, but stick to the strict dosing instructions.
Avatar f tn So 100 mg is great - makes me feel like a normal person again with energy and full mental acuity. Trouble is, like Jules L5S1, I get heart symptoms from Provigil - so I have to limit it to only once or twice a week. Usually I get a sustaining day-after-Provigil-effect so even the day following Provigil I have slightly more energy than usual - enough to get by. I do have to get more rest, though, later in the day on days when I take Provigil - or else I have really scary symptoms.
797195 tn?1240579823 I have been considering Adderall because of my extreme fatigue and my inability to tolerate Provigil for more than about one day per week (gives me heart symptoms - chest fullness if I take it more often). I sure do look forward to Mondays though (that is the day of week I usually take it). I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night!
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi All Posted a few days ago maybe a week about fatiuge alot of you advised to go my GP which i will and i have a rheumy and consultant appoinment in august so will bring it up there i have researched what is out there and the most popular seem to be this provigil but it is a has something to do with the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain and i have been on requip and other dopamine meds as my rheumy seems to think these are greast but my body hates them i go mad on them!!
620048 tn?1358018235 However, someone here pointed out that Nuvigil might just be a way the makers of Provigil have to keep Provigil users paying for Trade name drug a little longer (since Provigil will be going generic soon). However, you might consider just having your doctor order a few pills of Nuvigil to see if it could help you. Also, regarding the Provigil: Make sure its expiration date is a long time off. I have found that can make a difference - that it gets weaker with time.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
398059 tn?1447945633 I know that Provigil today. It is nice to have good nsurance again. I hope it will give me some energy again. Not sure but, I seem to have had more energy to day already after only one pill. But, that might have been my hopes more than the medication. Anyone else have a memory of their first dose and energy effects. How about the first week?
1745492 tn?1320198340 I have symptoms that some people say are consistent with narcolepsy. However, all I have seen are people with severe narcolepsy, and I'm not as bad as them. I do have very vivid dreams that can be stressful to me. I can write whole books on my dreams because they are so vivid. They are so stressful sometimes that I wake up sweating. I can fall asleep quick. As in I can take an short nap, say an hour, and still dream. I do not sleep well at night and have very interrupted sleep.
Avatar n tn , Symptom onset is usually rapid, often occurring within minutes after self-poisoning or a change in medication. Serotonin syndrome encompasses a wide range of clinical findings. Mild symptoms may only consist of tachycardia, shivering, diaphoresis (sweating), mydriasis (dilated pupils), myoclonus (intermittent tremor or twitching), as well as overresponsive reflexes.
429700 tn?1308007823 I don't have MS (so it appears), but I have quite a few similar symptoms, including dizziness and the related brain fog and fatigue. Back in 2000, neuro prescribed Provigil, saying "we used to use Ritalin for this" but that Provigil is now favored because of fewer side effects. Provigil was very helpful for both fatigue and cognition, although I didn't like the late-afternoon "letdown" effect I got with it. It was rather unpleasant.
400099 tn?1282954864 m glad your doc is treating the fatigue, but I wonder why the Ritalin instead of the usually more favored Provigil. Have you tried and failed Provigil or something? Yes, people have been helped by Ritalin and it's (better, I think) cousin Adderall for the symptoms of Cog Fog and the ADD it can cause. I'll be interested in hearing how well it works for fatigue. I thank the stars for you finding such a good doctor. They are a treasure!
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
5509293 tn?1428531475 This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.
401095 tn?1351391770 Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...
390916 tn?1204840470 Has anyone tried ProVigil? My sleep specialist suggested that I try it for the deep tiredness that I experience, even after getting great help with sleep from my CPAP machine. By the way, my trip to Seattle went very well. Though it is indeed very hilly, the cooler weather and low humidity made it easier to get around than here is muggy Baltimore. The weather seems to have a huge impact on this disease.
518001 tn?1212419235 Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!
1088527 tn?1425313375 I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.
565254 tn?1224716453 I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.
Avatar f tn I dont know if this is accurate or not, but I thought it should be shared. I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.
619930 tn?1260374254 I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.
Avatar f tn on the addictions forum someone brought up the topic provigil for energy, i have been clean for a while now but i have hep so my energy level is very low, and i also have under active thyroid so my question is this, when i researced this new drug i found """PROVIGIL is a federally controlled substance (C-IV) because it has the potential to be abused or lead to dependence. Please use PROVIGIL only as directed and keep in a safe place to prevent misuse and abuse.
1511858 tn?1290477459 Hi everybody, I went to my doctor today regarding my tireness and how I still have tremors in the legs and hands, He put me on provigil, he also shared with me that he feels when my thyroid is out of whack its causeing this attack on something that would otherwise was dorment?
