provigil

572651 tn?1530999357 I was told my cost on Nuvigil and generic Provigil is the same --- 30 doses with a co-pay of $75. Enjoy your good fortune Lulu. Your insurance always seems to treat you well.
382218 tn?1341181487 Interesting discussion re: the pricing of MS drugs. I am quite surprised to see Copaxone priced at $5500 - $6000 per month at Walmart/Walgreen's in the US. Mine is priced at about $1600, though I don't pay anything out of pocket for it. http://www.healthline.
Avatar m tn t help, they try something else and only as last resort will they Rx provigil, due to cost and health issues(heart depression, etc)
620048 tn?1358018235 For my body it is much better than Provigil. With my mail order pharmacy the cost for 90 days (1 pill per day) is $970.20 without insurance and with my insurance the cost to me is $220.91. I believe this one is worth every penny. My insurance had never approved Provigil so my doctor was giving me samples. The Nuvigil is lower in cost so my insurance company approved it without much of a fight.
Avatar f tn thanks for the comments. I will check into the meds at Walmart, I had heard they have a list of generics. The news on depakote does not sound good, it seems like all of the meds that give relief also cause the weight gain. What a bummer, as if we don't have enough problems to deal with. I will have to think about what to do next. Thanks for your support.
Avatar f tn I am tired, lack energy and have brain fog. My insurance won't authorize Provigil, because I don't have narcolepsy. Is there a medication that would work similarly to Provigil? I might have MS - need to do a repeat brain MRI. I would very much appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I found out at the doctor's office today that Provigil is going generic. Good news/bad news. Bad news is that my insurance has never approved Provigil but my doctor always had a plenty of samples for me. Now, no more samples. Has anyone tried the generic Provigil? I've been given the new Nuvigil to try for a week. If that also works then we will fight my insurance company for that. Just checking to see if anyone has tried the new medicine or the generic form.
405614 tn?1329144114 s medical assistant regarding my letter asking for help getting approval for Provigil. She said that Dr. S. said that Dr. Y. needs to do the research since she prescribed the Provigil. I explained that Dr. Y. prescribed the trial rx, and that Dr. S. had written a rx for "fatigue from cerebral white matter disease", that Dr. Y. hasn't considered that as a diagnosis, that she has MS as a differential diagnosis. Dr. S.
572651 tn?1530999357 I've heard that the generic provigil isn't half what provigil is........but have filled out the paperwork for provigil, just haven't heard back from them yet, for assistance.
1142551 tn?1264736930 My insurance (Aetna) would cover Provigil (at high copay) but wouldnt cover Nuvigil for MS at all. I explained I had trialed both and the nuvigil worked better for me but they wouldnt budge !
Avatar f tn I am back on Provigil and it is working again but not very good. I keep cutting my hours down at work because of the fatigue but it is beginning to get the best of me. What is the "Vy" drug because I know I will need something else soon. And my insurance was paying for Provigil the first time but they won't pay for it now; same company-go figure. But my doctor gave me about three months in samples and said the reps are not going to give out samples soon.
572651 tn?1530999357 The authentic Provigil samples from the Doctor and the Modafinil, manufactured in Canada, sold at Walmart in US (BUT THE PILLS ARE STAMPED PROVIGIL) are not the same. Provigil, if I pay on my own, is $1,200 for 30ea 200 mg, while the Modafinil my Rx plan pays for is around $721.00. This puts me at the upper limit of my coverage pretty quickly. The samples gave me wonderful results when using only 1/4 tablet for four 4days per week.
405614 tn?1329144114 It would be great if that could help with my fatigue as well as help me lose weight, and cost a lot less than Provigil. Heck, I looked it up and it is also in the same class as amphetamines, and could raise my heart rate/BP. I'll ask how it compares to Ritalin as far as side effects. I think Ritalin reduces the appetite, too, and would cost me a small co-pay. I'm so sorry about your lower back pain; I'm seeing my physical therapist about mine today.
Avatar f tn ) Anyway, I had previously had Amantadine, which did zilch, even at 200 mg. I am authorized to take 100 mg of Provigil, and can go to 200 if necessary. From what I recall, many of you take half a pill, so I guess that's 50. Have looked up the drug info online and it said side effects include nausea and anxiety, among other things, including a serious rash.. It also said that interactions with quite a lot of other drugs are possible.
198419 tn?1360242356 No one covers it, but many insurance companies have lowered the cost. It cost me $225 a month last year and this year is down to $85 a month. There are also clauses about medicare bumping you off their lists and so on, so read the fine print and save some time later.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Well they got the insurance to approve the provigil. Whoo hoo!!! It would have cost $864 but I only paid $3. What a relief. I would never have paid that much money out of pocket for the medicine. I will pay out of pocket for some but that is ridiculous. Anyway just glad they approved it so now maybe I can get some relief from this fatigue.
1710955 tn?1309446473 And see my post about the cost of the generic version of provigil - I hope it applies for you, too , and you get some relief from the costs.
Avatar f tn I wish I knew what to tell you. I too have part of your problem. The thing that scares me is that I have such a hard time going to sleep, take 4 pills a night (one Clonazepam, and 3-50mg of Trazadone) that I'm afraid to take the Provigil for fear that it will counteract with my night time pills and keep me awake at night. I have the Provigil that my rheumy gave me (SAMPLES) two weeks worth but I'm scared to death to take them. Anyone out there that can help LLWB and me???
649848 tn?1534633700 As consumers, we welcome Walmart's (WMT) low prices. But here's the thing about these low prices -- they're doing the U.S. more harm than good. A new research report has found that low prices have actually caused unemployment to rise, and dealt a massive blow to the manufacturing sector. Look no further than the 7 million manufacturing jobs the U.S. lost from 1980 to 2011, according to a recent research report from Demos.
Avatar f tn Anyone on medicare have any experience or enlightenment on provigil financial help? I've been quoted 33% copay (tier 4) by my drug insurance company which is over $300 for me The online sources I've contacted no longer cover provigil since the generic came out and the generic is about the same price... Looking for financial assistance sources if anyone knows of any thanks!
1207048 tn?1282174304 My doc prescribed me Provigil, it helped me alot and he said that if that didn't work there was ridilin (spelling) that we could try. The provigil is awesome but you have to take it early in the morning or else you won't sleep at night.
1088527 tn?1425313375 Kaiser sucked me into the Nuvigil last year and I am determined to make a stink about getting provigil back. I don't like the Nuvigil at all. I have to take 2x the dose and I don't think it does the same thing. Anyways..... enough of me an my whining. I just wanted to add.... ----> Insurance will cover Provigil for "Shift Work" your doc just needs to code it that way.
