provigil

572651 tn?1530999357 I've heard that the generic provigil isn't half what provigil is........but have filled out the paperwork for provigil, just haven't heard back from them yet, for assistance.
198419 tn?1360242356 No one covers it, but many insurance companies have lowered the cost. It cost me $225 a month last year and this year is down to $85 a month. There are also clauses about medicare bumping you off their lists and so on, so read the fine print and save some time later.
1142551 tn?1264736930 I started by calling the pharmaceutical company to inquire about assistance, but they have canceled their Provigil assistance program and also told me that depression is one of the few illnesses for which they do not provide assistance anyway. I then looked into other assistance programs, but they require enrollees to be without insurance, and giving up my health insurance is just not practical.

Avatar f tn Anyone on medicare have any experience or enlightenment on provigil financial help? I've been quoted 33% copay (tier 4) by my drug insurance company which is over $300 for me The online sources I've contacted no longer cover provigil since the generic came out and the generic is about the same price... Looking for financial assistance sources if anyone knows of any thanks!
405614 tn?1329144114 It would be great if that could help with my fatigue as well as help me lose weight, and cost a lot less than Provigil. Heck, I looked it up and it is also in the same class as amphetamines, and could raise my heart rate/BP. I'll ask how it compares to Ritalin as far as side effects. I think Ritalin reduces the appetite, too, and would cost me a small co-pay. I'm so sorry about your lower back pain; I'm seeing my physical therapist about mine today.
572651 tn?1530999357 I was told my cost on Nuvigil and generic Provigil is the same --- 30 doses with a co-pay of $75. Enjoy your good fortune Lulu. Your insurance always seems to treat you well.
Avatar m tn t help, they try something else and only as last resort will they Rx provigil, due to cost and health issues(heart depression, etc)
382218 tn?1341181487 The 'list price' is really just what the insurance company can expect to be charged, not the individual patient. As it says at the end, people who can not afford it can avail of patients' assistance programmes, and if this proves prohibitive still, there may be programmes or grants through charities of societies to make up the difference.
620048 tn?1358018235 For my body it is much better than Provigil. With my mail order pharmacy the cost for 90 days (1 pill per day) is $970.20 without insurance and with my insurance the cost to me is $220.91. I believe this one is worth every penny. My insurance had never approved Provigil so my doctor was giving me samples. The Nuvigil is lower in cost so my insurance company approved it without much of a fight.
Avatar f tn I am tired, lack energy and have brain fog. My insurance won't authorize Provigil, because I don't have narcolepsy. Is there a medication that would work similarly to Provigil? I might have MS - need to do a repeat brain MRI. I would very much appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I was in an accident, I currently have a metal plate, screws, & cadaver bone in my neck, operation 4 yrs ago, I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Restless leg syndrome, & depression. I have been on Oxycontin 20 mg 2 x day & Endocet for breakthru pain when needed, Provigil 200 mg 2 x day, Prozac 40 mgs which is on Walmarts 4 dollar plan.
405614 tn?1329144114 s medical assistant regarding my letter asking for help getting approval for Provigil. She said that Dr. S. said that Dr. Y. needs to do the research since she prescribed the Provigil. I explained that Dr. Y. prescribed the trial rx, and that Dr. S. had written a rx for "fatigue from cerebral white matter disease", that Dr. Y. hasn't considered that as a diagnosis, that she has MS as a differential diagnosis. Dr. S.
Avatar f tn I didn't answer your question because I don't know anything about Provigil. There are also people here with CFS, including myself, who only have so much energy to spend on forum. Some days I can't even post. So I hope you will understand. The only suggestion I have is to make sure your physician knows that you don't feel safe driving because of your extreme fatigue. I would think then that he would be obligated to do something.
333672 tn?1273792789 Apparently, Acorda has both a co-pay assistance program and a patient assistance program for the uninsured and underinsured. There are some details at http://brassandivory.blogspot.com/2010/02/annual-price-for-ampyra-set-at-12850.html with more info in the comments. And yes, the base price for a 30-day supply is $1,056. The way the co-pay program works is that if your co-pay is more than $40, Acorda will pay the difference so the patient's max out-of-pocket is $40.
2112931 tn?1335098402 some of the tiers, like mine has 4 tiers, some of the more expensive drugs, i.e., provigil, for example, falls into tier 4 and just because its generic, it still carries a co-pay of 30%. Generally only tier 1 is totally free of co-pay and that would cost me an additional $$ premium. To take advantage of that FREE generic, I would have to figure up how much I usually spend for generics and see if it is lesser to upgrade. Your basic question.
Avatar f tn I remember that you have fibro as well as ms, and probably other things. What is your take on asking my dr about Provigil for the extreme fatigue of my fibro? I ended up taking a 3 1/2hr "nap" today. And will have no trouble sleeping tonight.A lot of the posts here mention taking it to help with their fatigue, just wondering if it would help fibro fatigue. Hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend!
Avatar f tn I would be getting my uterus and cervix removed. How much do they cost out of pocket and is there any kind of financial assistance that would help me pay for the medical bill?
