I was able to look for employment again, seek out options for going bk to school, and I had much less social anxiety with friends, family, and the public. I also went on a much needed weight loss program and had lost 17 lbs. Then my insurance denied coverage and we are working on an appeal. I have heard that "Adderall" can help some people who were taking Provigil but you have to ask your doctor about that. I only hope this drug goes to a generic form one day so I can have it again.
do all of these crappy (literally) side effects EVER fade??? ive only been on the combined treatment for a month now....it just seems to b getting worse...the vomitting, crapping, fatigue,body aches, head aches, raw throat and mouth....i just hate to ask my docs for all kinds of meds....just wondering if it gets better closer to the one year marker????

Concerta is quite well known to cause weight loss, common complaints of appetite being suppressed, not being hungry, feeling full etc occur in all ages and gender. Significant weight loss is probably one of the more common reasons for a change in medication, so i would definitely recommend discussing your weight loss concerns with your prescribing dr.
I've been on synthroid x 5 months, post total thyroidectomy since May, and I've had no hair loss or weight gain. I am also VERY careful about what I eat and exercise regularly.
I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
A five minute snack and stretch break produces immediate results, whereas a pill will take 20-25 minutes to work, and the only side effect I have to worry about is weight loss and increase in muscle tone.

I didn't get up until 11 and I napped from 4pm to 8pm. I also noticed that I have no appetite. I have cotton mouth. I am very thirsty and nauseous. I did eat some cereal today. I tried to eat a little oatmeal tonight and only managed about two bites. Has anyone else had similar issues? Did anything help?

I have debilitating fatigue due to MS and have tried everything - Provigil, Amantadine, Adderall, Ritalin - the works. While Provigil helped for some time while I was still working, that was many years ago and its effectiveness eventually petered out. At the time, I was taking a very large dose in accordance to doctor's orders, and my side effects (heart palpitations, increased rate of speech, crashing, etc.
I am just finishing week 12 of tx. Hopefully I will get good news from my PCR test this week.
For the first 11 weeks of the tx, I had a very tough time. Barely had the energy to make it out of bed most days, and was extremely foggy all the time. It was very difficult to be able to concentrate on my work or do anything requiring the use of my brain. I was seriously thinking about stopping the tx because of this even though I know the consequences.
My Dr. recently prescribed Provigil for me.

re that sensitive to the provigil and nuvigil, you may have even more side effects trying to switch to a stimulant. Some of the stimulants used for this purpose include: Ritalin, Focalin, Dexedrine, Desoxyn, and Vyvanse. You said you've already tried Adderall without success, so I left it off this list.
Since then I have had a couple of side effects that I think may be from the IUD and wanted to know if anyone else has had any of these (or others).
The biggest problem is joint pain, primarily in my legs...although my back is pretty tight, but I suspect mostly from carrying the baby. I looked into reasons for joint pain and Mirena IUD came up and thinking back it started about a month or so after I had the IUD put in.
I HAD MEMOREY LOSS AND SEVERE WEIGHT GAIN. I did not get my memory back that was loss but as soon as i stopped taking it i had no memory loss and loss all the weight i had gained by taking Seruquel and then some. I advise anyone do not take this medication it is really bad for you.I am not a doctor it is my personal oppion. I know because i know what it took from my life alot and i cannot get that back.
