s ok, and mentioned briefly that Pepcid would help meanwhile. So I started weaning off of Protonix, by taking the protonix every other day last week, then every two days this week. I took my last dose three days ago, and felt great yesterday, but today, I feel slight pain... My question is 1)Do you think it's a good idea to switch completely to Pepcid now? And is it safe to do so? Cause I've been taking Protonix for a while, and could interact with Pepsid?

Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex, Zantac, and Pepcid are all used to treat reflux. You can ask you doctor who will know best which one is least likely to cause you dizzyness.

However my Gastro DR says no way my hernia is causing this issue. Im on Pepcid, Carafate, GI cocktail, and protonix.

4 PPIs: Nexium, Prevacid, Aciphex, Protonix; 2 H2blockers: Zantac and Pepcid; 2 antiacids: Gaviscon and Riopan. I couldn't take any of these more than a few days (from 1 to 13 days) because of their side effects. The 2 bad side effects I've most often had are: worsened IBS - bad abdominal cramps (caused by Nexium together with fever and Zantac) a white-coated and burning tongue (caused by Prevacid, Zantac, Protonix, Pepcid, Riopan).

t work so I went to the ER and they prescribed me protonix. I had an ultrasound of my upper GI and it showed nothing. Well 4 days after using the protonix I started to have a bloated feeling. It never went away. It's mainly just a tight full feeling - not the actual distension but it's constant. And some times it's in the upper abdomen and sometimes just lower or both. A tight pressure will also come and go and feel like a brick is sitting on my abdomen.

What do you ladies take for acid reflux? I'm 31 weeks and a few days and the past three weeks I've been waking up from a dead sleep vomiting from acid reflux. It gets up into my nose. The lining of my throat is burning. I have a cold right now too and asthma so vomiting and coughing is literally killing my throat. I just woke up from sleeping and threw up so badly I peed my pants. I'm so over this. I cant have Zantac because I'm super allergic.

I take protonix now because my heartburn/reflux was so bad. It is like the Cadillac of reflux meds and I love it. I tried tums and pepcid but they didn't work for me but try everything that is safe and hopefully somethings works for you good luck.

I recently was changed from prilisec to protonix which greatly relieved the laryngeal irritation from silent gerd. Two nights past week have awakened with severe nerve pain entire left thorax (front & back between shoulder blades) and left arm/hand. Ironically no substernal chest pain. Echo and persantine tests normal 3 months ago (done to evaluate for PH/copd) It was 9/10 and 10/10 severity nerve pain, not muscle, no brash, no acid in throat, etc. It lasted less than 10 minutes.

My doc told me to use tums and pepcid. Also benadryl is very effective for anxiety in pregnancy and was recommended to me by doc, helped me a lot, only took when i needed to.

then Zantac.. then Zantac with tums. All gave temporary relief. I was just prescribed Protonix by my OB and No More Heartburn!!!! Try Zantac 150 mg over the counter first.

Hello, has anyone ever taken PPIs or acid blockers (such as Prilosec, Prevaid, Nexium, Protonix, Zantac, Pepcid, etc) & had an increase or randomly started having OCD or anxiety? I had peptic ulcer a while back (not caused by h. pylori), & all of these meds seem to make my OCD almost intolerable. I thought the issue could have been that they were making my medications not absorb properly, but it looks like these meds actually cause temporary changes in the brain for some people?

Protonix (Pantoprozole) does not give me problems...maybe a little weight loss. Omeprazole (Prilosec or Zegerid) causes me all kinds of problems. Headache, chest pain, red/irritated eyes, all kinds of body aches, constipation and extreme thrist. Problem is...protonix is by script only and VERY EXPENSIVE! Someone talk to me about this. Has anyone else experienced these problems with Omeprazole?

Came out negative but I still have pain Dr prescribed Protonix 2 x daily Does this help the gallbladder.

rbc was 4.48 vs low end of 4.50, platelet at 144 vs low of 150 on range and 11 MPV vs. high range of 10...all other labs were fine...

I take a prescription called Zantac as well. 150mg and it's my bff! Can be taken twice daily. Ask your Dr about it. It's safe for baby.

I was initially on Pantoprazole (Protonix) 40mg once per day and Pepcid AC 20mg twice a day for about 3 weeks. I took it for about a week before my Upper Endoscopy. He initially told me to take it once per day, but as of about a week ago when my pain became so strong (after 3 weeks) that I couldn't sleep at night, he told me to take the 40mg Pantoprazole twice a day (morning and night) with the Pepcid AC and I take a third Pepcid AC during the middle of the day per his direction.

He asked why I was taking protonix. I had another bad attack with grilled chicken a couple of weeks ago and was forced to go to my dr. He currently has me on protonix which is not helping. I have been researching to try and figure out what in the world can be done about this. I am getting some of the weight back off but am afraid it is going to come off to fast because most days I am only able to get soup down. Here are my symptoms. I was diagnosed with reflux after an EGD last summer. I was sailing along, taking protonix 1x per day, eating pretty much normally, and then boom , it was as if a switch were thrown, and the symptoms returned once again. I am now on Zegerid at night (taken for 3 days) and have seen little improvement, and Protonix in the AM. My question is, has anyone experienced this where the drug just stopped working for you? My Dr. prescribed me Pepcid because my heartburn is so severe It is causing extreme nausea. It was so bad I thought I had the stomach flu. Anyhow the only one the store had was the maximum strength. The Pharmacist said it was ok. Anyone else take this?
