Common Questions and Answers about Protonix lpr

protonix

Avatar f tn s speech pathologist says it sounds like LPR from my symptoms and sound of my voice, but could it cause illnesses and fatigue and a sore body. I am going to an infectious disease dr. this week because I have no options left.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the GERD forum. It is very possible that what u r dealing with is GERD ....LPR has all the same symptoms and u have to treat it the same....u may want to try to avoid foods they trigger ur symptoms, so keep a journal so u know which of the "typical" foods affect u, and there are ways to modify ur lifestyle as well as ur diet...like no eating b4 u lay down for at least 3 to 4 hours...elevate the head of ur bed....no tight clothes....
Avatar m tn One emergency room gave me a PPI called Protonix that helped at first, but now seems to be wearing off leaving me on the verge of painful reflux again. (Tight throat, dry mouth, and more frequent burning) I stopped taking the medication two days ago. I have constant gas, accompanied by bloating and sometimes regurgitating bits of food after eating. At times it feels like my abdomen is vibrating. Usually when I'm sitting down or after eating I get bad back pain.
Avatar m tn After all tests came back negative, the sore throat and swollen submandibular lymph nodes have lasted for almost 1.5 years. After multiple doctors visits, I have been diagnosed with LPR. The ENT put me on Nexium ??mg twice per day. I have been taking the Nexium for about a month now. I have a couple of questions. Are swollen submandibular lymph nodes a common symptom of LPR? I have only seen in one place where someone says swollen lymph nodes are a symptom of LPR.
Avatar f tn I had been on GERD meds for a long time, protonix, prevacid, zantac etc. I did not realize this could cause malabsorption of vitamins and am chronically deficient in iron, vitamin d, magnesium etc and was put on prescription vitamins. I stopped taking the acid reflux meds for a few months and now am waking up a lot at night (in addition to my sleep apnea), have gunk in my throat and feel stuff coming back up again.
Avatar f tn I have doubt now if I have LPR for real.My symtoms are nausea, belching all day before or after meal, constipation (since I have taken PPI), trouble sleeping because of abdomen pain,I have too much gas in my ab causeing pain 24/7.First ENT dianosed me with laryngitis+pharyngitis. After I recovered them.I found my throat has been burning and still painful. So i went for 2nd ENT opinion who dianosed me as Laryngopharyngeal Reflux.I tried to change my eating pattern .I got better.
Avatar m tn Wait a month and go on Protonix (Pantoprazole) and come back. What is the point? I have been on Omeprazole since September 2nd - over 7 weeks and the Endoscopy (done on 10/21) showed my tonsils are the size of grapes! Is that not any indication anti-acids are not working or solving my Dysphagia and swollen tonsils!? I was on Zegerid and probiotics(still taking them) for 3 months prior to September and still had the swollen tonsils.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had success stopping LPR? If so, what did you do. Is surgery the answer?
Avatar f tn A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with LPR disease. My doctor told me that stomach acid has gotten on my voice-box and caused it swell. I'm the lead singer in my band and I was wondering if it is ok for me to sing with my voice-box this way or should I wait to sing again, if so how long should wait?
Avatar m tn No history of reflux, but sent to gastroenterologist (for possibility of LPR and I said that I had a habit of clearing my throat a lot?) and put on protonix and pepcid and eliminated host of foods. I've been put on cyclobenzaprine (5mg 3x/day). I've tried NSAIDS. No matter what I try, it continues to come and go. The voice comes back, but it will go randomly and be gone for days (like now) - raspy, breathy.
Avatar f tn I was sent to a GI and scoped, stating esophagitis and small hiatal hernia. I was placed on Protonix once a day. I felt better, so went off, only to have a year of on and off again chest pain/breathing issues and on/off PPI medication. During this year, I have also had a full cardiac workup and full pulmonary function test, both of which were perfect. A few months ago I was sent back to the GI and he wanted another scope. This time he said GERD and to stay on medication.
Avatar m tn Severe nausea, indigestion, GERD, bloating/gas, sometimes mild epigastric discomfort. I have been on priolsec then protonix a year in a half now. (does not help GERD) Anyways I have had and upper GI, Ultrasounds, CT scan, xrays all coming back negative. I had a HIDA scan about 5 weeks ago which my gallbaldder didnt show so aI had it removed. The surgery relvleaved chronic gallbladder disease/extensive gallbaldder adhesions which were removed. A week before the surgery I had a EGD.
Avatar m tn Hello, I was diagnosed by LPR (Laryngopharyngeal Reflux). I would love to discuss managing of my LPR with other LPR sufferers. However, I can't find any active support group, forum etc. Do you know about anything? Could you send me a link? Thank you. G.
1563671 tn?1295117441 my ent told me to boost my meds and watch my food. ive been on protonix 40mg. since the surgery but my foolish eating of pizza and buffets did this to me. i did this. not the surgeon. so i added prilosec 20mg. for about 3 weeks and ate right and wham back to normal. but this time is different. i got burps and a lot daily. the thing is you cant puke or really burp after this procedure but the burps came.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
Avatar f tn The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.
Avatar m tn s not just something that makes LPR get worse but perhaps it is the culprit! Do all of you LPR sufferers have stress/anxiety problems? I think it has something to do with the short breaths making the diaphragm tense plus all of the other tension and also indigestion all combined from stress/anxiety.
Avatar f tn Hi Guys I have significant LPR reflux after taking a long course of Antibiotics for my Prostate problems. I have a lot of swelling sensation/feeling in my throat and stiffness in my neck, is this normal? I also had mild oral thrush and the ENT doc Harley street London says it’s quite common to come together but I dunno, the thrush has subsided a bit but he gave me Omeprazole but it messed up my stomach, so I stopped after a month, is LPR a chronic condition?
