I went to a gi specialist they did a endoscopy and colonoscopy everything was normal I got a hiana hernia and a small ulcer to they got me on protonix 40 mg but scared to take it I have been taking gaviscon instead I don't know what meds you can or can not take with protonix

I am having same problem. I was taking nexium 40 mg more the week now. I did have my periods, due on 25 th of this month. We didnt have unprotected sexual activity.

I've been on Protonix for several years, recently my dosage was upped to two 40 mg. I have nighttime reflux, never any symptoms during the day. All lifestyle changes made, bed elevation, not eating after 6:00pm, etc. etc. My doctor, whom I consider an able physician, has repeatedly assured me of the safety of the PPI class of drugs. Even said her 9 year old daughter was on Protonix.

t as virus, it was protonix. Dizziness and heart issues are side effects of PPIs. I was then put on Prilosec, 20 mg, but it didn't help. The doctor increased my dose to 20 mg twice daily. After a couple of weeks I started having heart palpitations, sometimes for 9 straight hours. After decreasing my dosage back to 20 mg once daily, the palpitations stopped. The doctor now wants me to take Prevacid, but I am worried about the side effects. Anyone have a bad experience with Prevacid?

i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.5/325 mg of norco 3 x daily. I've never had performance issues until a few days ago with a new relationship that i dont want to **** up because she is a very positive and awesome person. im freaking out about being 26 yrs old and having performance issues. somebody please help!!!!!

Hi I am experiencing pain in my arm and shoulder since I tried lowering my Protonix dosages which gave me really bad rebound ,I have not recovered from at this point and doctor put me on 2 40 mg now a day and not acid relief yet,I think I have to change drugs!

I have been taking protonix for about 5 years now and I'm concerned about long term use of protonix and all the other heartburn medications I have been taking for 30 years. I still suffer from heartburn daily. I have had 4 Endoscopy's done at different times and my Dr. say's it does show some inflammation but no Barrett's Desease, thank God.

Went to hospital a month ago for bleeding ulcers of the esophagus, and was given bags full of Protonix, IV for a week. Was sent home taking 40mg 2 X a day. Had microalbumin well over 400 when I had labs done for checkup. So Dr. ordered a kidney ultrasound and a nodule was found in my right kidney. I've seen several law suits about Protonix causing kidney failure!

After being on Protonix 40 mg. for 1 month plus taking 1-1/2 mg. Lorazapam a day it began to affect my saliva flow. I lost ten pounds in one month because I did not have enough saliva flow to break down alot of different foods. I am now eating very healthy but found out that between the Protonix and Lorazapam they both have done a job on my mouth. Anyone else have this problem? I am going to discontinue the Lorazapm under my doctor's care and I have not taken Protonix for 7 days.

30 and do not go to bed for at least 5 hours after I eat. I am know taking 40 MG Protonix 60 minutes befoe I eat my first meal and 40 mg Prilosec before dinner and I still woke up the other night with acid aspirating into my lungs. I am going to the Va tomorrow and they are going to take a chest Xray as they feel by my symtoms I might have developed nemonia. I have only been on the the Protonx 6 days. I was even considering the surgery untill I read some of your blogs.

I am a I have been taking 1000 MG of Ranexa twice a day for about 6 weeks. I came off of Imdur 60 mg twice a day and a nitro patch. It was working but now I get real bad heartburn and my GERD (acid reflux) is back. Has any one had a similar experience? Here is a listing of my meds. Any help appreciated.

Plus my everyday meds of Advair 500/50 twice a day 1 puff; Singulair 10 mg 1 time day and Protonix 40 mg twice a day. I have been in and out of the ER. I have seen my PCP;Cardiologist and Pulmonologist. All chest x-rays, stress test and echocardiogram came back normal. Still having all the same symptoms. The results came back with mild inflammation, but all of the biopsies were normal. She switched me to 40 mg Protonix once a day. I tried that for about two weeks, and my symptoms were getting worse. One day in particular was really bad with pain in my upper right abdomen, nausea, and persistent constipation. I went to quick care where they told me I babe IBS and gave me bentyl. I have not tried the bentyl because I wanted to work on solving issues with diet first.

We exchanged postings awhile ago & I shared my bad experience with you I had with a ENT performing a negligent sinus surgery, as well as being told I had a hiatal hernia. I had asked your advice about discontinuing protonix if I don't have a hiatal hernia. Your advice was to ween off protonix by switching to pepcid or Zantac. Well, I visited my gastro/hepatologist for a issue with high liver enzymes. He asked why I was taking protonix.

In my August exam by my own gastroenterologist, after no symptoms whatsoever and the negative articles published about long term usage of Protontix, I was advised to decrease the Protonix to just 40 mg. once a day for about a month and then change to an over-the-counter medication, like Prilosec or Zantac for about 6 months. After a month without symtoms, even though the medication was decreased I am unsure which medication, of the over-the-counter choices to chage to.

About a year ago I was experiencing heartburn, I was diagnose with H.pylori, I was given antibiotics,protonix, I was given protonix for 3 months only, as soon as I stopped taking the protonix, heartburn return. I have burning in my esophagus, pain under my sternum, sore gums, very sensitive teeth, neck and chest are always bright red and hot. My hair is thinning and my skin is sensitive. I also have pain in my abdomen, usually on the left side. I've had CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs, upper endoscopy, stress test and have found nothing. My surgery has now substituted 2x 20 mg capsules, they do not appear to work and are a nightmare against taking 40 mg dose. I have a faulty valve aand have relied on this drug for the past 10 years without any side effect.

I would always listen to your doctor. If you don't feel comfortable ramping up the Lexapro, perhaps you could talk about a change in meds or the addition of another med. You have to let your doctor know how you feel.

I am an 18 year old male and I have dyspepsia (uncomfortable movements in the stomach) and I take 40 mg Protonix a day for the stomach. Lately I have been having small chest pains that come and go for a most 2 minutes. Yesterday I started having theses weird floating (not quite fluttering) sensations in my throat and chest. At the same time my vision goes dim and I feel lightheaded like I am about to faint. The lightheadedness only lasts for 2 seconds. It is very worrying.

m on Vancomycin Hydrochloride 250 mg 4 times for 10 days to clear up the havoc the clindamycin did on my digestive system. I also was just prescribed Protonix 40 mg once a day and I also take Zoloft 50 mg once a day and Ativan .5 mg as needed. I was prescribed both the Zoloft and Ativan when my cardiac came back clear but I was still having symptoms. This all started 2 months ago with the jaw, chest pressure and left arm pain.
