protonix

709686 tn?1277432159 Headache, chest pain, red/irritated eyes, all kinds of body aches, constipation and extreme thrist. Problem is...protonix is by script only and VERY EXPENSIVE! Someone talk to me about this. Has anyone else experienced these problems with Omeprazole?
Avatar m tn I have posted in the pain management forum, but not in this one yet. I've been having bad neck and shoulder and shoulder blade pain on the right side for a few months. I have been taking Protonix since May, 40mgs once every evening. Because I'm not getting relief with chiropractic care or anything else for that matter, I started thinking about medication and side effects. The protonix s the only thing that could possibly be the culprit.
Avatar f tn I finally went back to the doctor and he put me on 20 mg Protonix once a day. This solved my problems almost instantly. During this time I also began to start to settle in my new home and was starting to hang out with a new guy so my stress level was way down. Since then I lived pretty normally, with the occasional day of feeling somewhat nauseous every couple of months. I had an upper endoscopy done as well as a stomach emptying test and all results came back normal.
Avatar n tn ikeep having these sharp pains right around the lower part and upper part of my belly button also on my left side i was tested positive for stool in my blood still seeing dark spots in my stool nausea still there taking zofran for nausea and protonix for the abdominal discomfort doesnt seem to help a whole lot had a ct scan and everything came back normal im going to a specialist for a upper and lower endoscopy any advise whats bothering me
1479013 tn?1330699762 t help but had to try that first before insurance would pay for Protonix. I have been on Protonix for over a year now and am having problems again. Right after I eat, I get bloated; I liken it to when you are full and you bend over to tie your shoe and you feel so much pressure on your stomach and diaphragm area and your head feels full of pressure. That's what I feel like after I eat and I am NOT bending over.
Avatar f tn I deal with chronic constipation due to pain meds, but I feel this pain is more than just the constipation. I take Protonix 40 mg. twice daily for GERD. I tried some Reglan hoping it would help, but it made no difference. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid and just started taking a new med for it today. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn m still waiting on my ultrasound results. And the xray was fine. The specialist prescribed me a higher dose of an antiacid (. protonix. ) , prescribed me medicine for nausea. (zofran) and miralax for constipation. I can't stand for this to go on any longer it's ruining my life and me and my girlfriend are having a child soon and I don't want to be like this because it's preventing me from being who I was and being able to give my 100%.
Avatar n tn I blamed it on side effects from the protonix I had been on for 3 months. With my doctors approval I stopped the protonix. It took over a week for the withdrawal symptoms to disappear and I felt much better. Until this last week or so. Now my thighs (especially inner) and crotch area are achy and get that numbness feeling sometimes like I used to experience when I was 9 months pregnant. I tend to notice a bloated (constipated like) feeling at the same time as the achy thighs.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
Avatar f tn The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.
Avatar f tn Anyone know if it's ok to take stool softeners for constipation while on Carafate? If so, is there a specific length of time they're safe to take?
1277123 tn?1294497878 I would recommend treating the constipation. You can start with eating more fiber, fruits and vegetables, and drinking more water. If that doesn't help you can try a laxative like Miralax or you can use something stronger like magnesium citrate. If you are feeling pressure in your rectum you can try a warm-water enema. You might also have some gas, so you can try something lie gas-x to help. If you want to take something for the pain, you should try tylenol not advil.
Avatar f tn t have medicaid and yesterday my health insurance company said I must use generic of Prilosec first and if it does not work I guess my doc can request the Protonix. I really feel a difference not having the Protonix. Glad you can receive it. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have doubt now if I have LPR for real.My symtoms are nausea, belching all day before or after meal, constipation (since I have taken PPI), trouble sleeping because of abdomen pain,I have too much gas in my ab causeing pain 24/7.First ENT dianosed me with laryngitis+pharyngitis. After I recovered them.I found my throat has been burning and still painful. So i went for 2nd ENT opinion who dianosed me as Laryngopharyngeal Reflux.I tried to change my eating pattern .I got better.
Avatar m tn I called it a poisoning because she was IVed with Protonix twice even though her drs knew she was allergic.Allergic reactions to Protonix are many and are 99 times out of 100 diagnosed as something else.Unfortunately a certain number of patients will experience severe reactions to Protonix such as pancreatitis. That is why Altana, the German company who developed Protonix made Wyeth set aside monies to cover such reactions before they sold the patent to Wyeth.
Avatar f tn Then when I went to my doctor Thursday, she switched me to Protonix. If they are basically the same, could Protonix work for me if Prilosec OTC didn't? I'd really like to know because I've had this problem for almost 3 months now and I'm tired of eating plain food.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosied with colonic Inertia ( severe constipation). After having the Sub Total Colectomy i am still suffering constipation and living on medication and enimas. Can some one help please.
Avatar f tn I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill. After I took for 30days, I was off of it couple of days but again, the pain was coming back, so I went to get refill, and started taking daily.
Avatar m tn My symptoms have included nausea, acid reflux (not diagnosed with GERD confirmed on EGD) , constipation, epigastric pain, indigestion, bitter taste in mouth, bloating, loss of appietite, and fullness in the upper abdomen. Symptoms have last the past two years, had gallbladder removed 1 week after the EGD and symptoms didn't improve. Mr Dr. who did the EGD is just a surgeon and didnt know why I have this and just really hasn't been helpful.
Avatar f tn Anywho I am almost constantly nauseous now, usually mild, sometimes severe. i never vomit. My bowels are quite normal- no constipation, and every now and then a touch of loose bowels, but usually normal. The only thing doctors have ever found is gastritis (I have a history of mild anxiety/ stress and mild depression) , that was 2 years ago and I didn't get it treated properly as the medication made me feel sicker.
Avatar f tn I do have tenderness on my right side--exactly across from where my gallbladder used to be. There is no blood, no gas, or belching--just a dull cramping each time I eat. I stopped taking Protonix two weeks ago to see if that was the cause, but I am still experiencing the same symptoms. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Avatar n tn My reg family doc wanted me to go to see the gastro doctor to have an endo done back like 3 or 4 months ago when he had to switch me from protonix (which is my 2nd or 3rd med to try for acid reflux) to Nexium , the strongest dose 40 mgs I think. Well at the time I didn't have time to go see the gastro doc. But I had to go see a ENT because of an ear infection and he said my throat looked really irriated and I had better get my acid reflux checked out.
