Protonix and warfarin

Common Questions and Answers about Protonix and warfarin

protonix

I also take Norvasc, Inderal and a diuretic as well as a baby aspirin daily for a PFO and HBP, and migraines. Does anyone know why the Protonix would be prescribed? Thank you.
I have had 2 ablations for AVNRT SVT tachycardia last year, May and July at UPMC. After the second procedure I developed a PE. I was on warfarin for 6 months and then in Jan 07 I went to a hemotologist and had many tests that were ok, so I stopped warfarin. At the same time, due to daily aspirin and severe anxiety from heart issues, I developed gastric and duodenal ulcers. I went on protonix and was fine in a few weeks.
You can also take note of what you eat, when you eat and the consequences of such so you can finetune your lifetstle and diet to avoid discomfort. Nexium and Protonix of the world could shut down too much of the stomach acid production to the extent when you eat again, you suffer from too little acid to digest your food and poorly digested food would be passed on to the intestines and mingle with bacteria to form gas,and cause infatulence.
At the same time, due to daily aspirin and severe anxiety from heart issues, I developed gastric and duodenal ulcers. I went on protonix and was fine in a few weeks. In October 06 I had more abdominal symptoms, had upper GI to reveal small ulcer. I took more protonix and was ok again. I was put on Klonopin for anxiety around that time as well. I also have PVCs, but cardiologist says heart is fine otherwise. Had gastric emptying study which was normal.
During examining me, they asked about my leg cause I have DVT (I was extremely overweight and now losing weight) and later found there was a clot, so I was admitted into the hospital and am currently being treated for it and taking warfarin. However, I was told nothing of my chest or if I damaged my esophagus. They did do a chest x-ray and a cat scan on me. Would those tests determine if there is something wrong with my chest?

i'm a 63 year old male from Ireland and suffer from congestive heart failure, i've had several ops in the past including 2 separate by pass ops and the instalation of an internal defib unit under my skin near my heart. I have lost 12 kg in weight in the last 5 months. i have an appitete but constantly vomit after nearly all meals, My doctor cant find a reason why . i've had several full blood works done and an endo scope exam . all negative results.....!
Any way I also would be interested in what anyone might have to say about it and or what they may have learned from this if they know or even think this to be the case for them and would also like to correspond with others to trade stories and info on what they've learned and done. Be well. Sincerely, Rich - ***@**** This discussion is related to Stomach Gas and Arrythmia.
They had put me on Warfarin as well as a heart rhythm ...the SR stuff. I had a cardioversion done a month later and right away I could tell the difference between in and out of sinus and the calmness when in as well as how much easier it was to breath. I was in for around a week and one night I could feel it coming, and I was out. I was switched to Taxtia XT 300mg per day and had another cardioversion done, and that lasted maybe 2 weeks, and then back out again.
After the blockage was discovered thanks to a persistent PCP, and the stent inserted, I had chest pain afterwards. Was re-catheterized, all the major arteries were given a clean bill of health, but was placed on a beta blocker. Terrible reaction to the first one, put on a second one, and finally my cardiologist took me off that one as well. Although I see some improvement, I still have chest "aches" on exertion.
It started off as every now and then but for the last month it is all the time 24/7. It is really taking a toll on my life. It is so bad it wakes me up and prevents me from falling asleep. I have had thyroid, hormones, mri, ct scan and many other tests. The only test that came back questionable was my ANA, it is positive, speckled pattern. My RA factor was negative. I have no diagnosis as of yet. I do have Epstein Barr virus too.
