I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill. After I took for 30days, I was off of it couple of days but again, the pain was coming back, so I went to get refill, and started taking daily.
cardiac diseases, lung cancer, thoracic outlet syndrome,pancreatitis,gall bladder disease(fullness and pain in the right side of abdomen and chest after eating a greasy or fatty meal) and muscle pain[costochondritis(an inflammation of the joints in your chest)].
Try taking some anti inflammatory pain relievers and antacids.Heat compresses may also help. If the pain is still there,pls consult your physician to find out the confirmatory diagnosis.

I take Protonix to control my gerd. An allergist recommended this and it does seem to make a difference. Does anyone else take these types of meds to control their gerd and, ultimately, help with asthma? I cannot get Protonix any longer through my health insurance and was wondering if someone took something else as effective. Prilosec and Nexium do not have as good as effect as Protonix for me. Thanks.
I am a non-smoker, non-drinker, and consider myself to be fairly healthy, 5ft 9 and 184 pounds. I have always had really good results except for a mildly decreased HDL. My recent results were as follows: Triglycerides: 1,765 mg/dl, HDL: 21, LDL: NP (serum index for lipemia to high to report), and Total Cholesterol: 273. I fasted for 12 hrs prior to this since I am an RN and know the importance.
i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.5/325 mg of norco 3 x daily. I've never had performance issues until a few days ago with a new relationship that i dont want to **** up because she is a very positive and awesome person. im freaking out about being 26 yrs old and having performance issues. somebody please help!!!!!
My husband has heartburn really bad, and HBP. The Dr. put him on protonix and bystolic and reglan. Here lately he has been have sharp dull pains under his left beast. He said it lasted about 3 min. today. He also so it does not hurt but you know it is there. What is going on should I get him a Dr. appointment it has happened twice. Should I be worried which is to late I already am. what do you think.
Hi from what I understand protonix is an rx while prilosec is over the counter meds......
so I do believe that the protonix is stronger.I am not a dr, just going on what I do know, I know both r PPI and work much the same way.....Ur dr should be able to say y he changed ur meds...everyone is different and react to the meds differently....maybe bcuz the prilosec dtopped working instead of changing meds he should check to see y u r making so much acid.

After the pain continued i saw a gastroenterologist tried Protonix meds 2x day without much help and redid the Amylase and now at 150! Everything else is normal. He has ordered a CT for next week, but I am very freaked re: possibilities of Pancreatic cancer! I also occassioanlly have back pain (which may be related to me bending to search the internet!) Can you provide any reassurance as I head into these tests? Thank you!
m not getting relief with chiropractic care or anything else for that matter, I started thinking about medication and side effects. The protonix s the only thing that could possibly be the culprit. I went off of it two days ago, took omaprazole instead, and have had a 50% reduction in the pain. Has anyone else experienced this. I am reluctant to mention it to the doctor because I'm afraid he will dismiss it. I want to be sure before I talk to him.
I was a longtime sufferer of pancreatitis and have diabetes. You have to try and normalize your system. Cut out all processed/highly refined foods, do juicing, and small consistent meals. Make your husband quit smoking....it makes the pancreas work too hard.
Since his is chronic, its all about maintenance, and allowing the body to do some healing as well!
If you want I can send you a plan I used which saved my life, and kept me functional. The doctors will just give you meds to ease pain....
I have been to the hospital twice with two ekgs done normal and a lot of blood work normal I have bad shoulder pains leg pains arms ache and neck hurts when I drink or eat anything my chest hurts and my back hurts can stress and gets cause this I get headaches daily and the pain in shoulders and arms daily

I thank God that I had an abdominal ulrasound and cat scan with and without IV contrast and all was clear. I was so afraid that I had pancreatic cancer. My Dr told me that the CT scan was the best test for the pancreas. I just get nervous because I still get a discomfort way up high under my breastboneand occasionaly in my back but my Dr said this could be acid reflux. My endescopy also showed that I have gastritis which I know is painful as well.
Trouble was I had a really bad Nicorette habit. Low and behold I have chronic pancreatitis and if I chew the gum--the pancreatic pain skyrockets. I would say "YES" Nicorette either causes, triggers, or aggrevates pancreatitis.
I have been using Protonix for almost a year now and it's worked great to help my Gastritis but I noticed something. Since taking it, my period comes later than it used to and for less time. I am a bit worried, is everything ok?
im now being directed to take a gastric emptying study which i already have had done a year ago and those results were normal..my question is...is here a link between pancreatitis and bile reflux? and if so, would it not be indicative of an obstruction (due to the minor dilation) of my pancreatic duct....is there any remedies or speculation around these test results?
