That is quite concerning since these results came in July of last year and my Doctor didn't order any follow up test or advise me to take aspirin. I am going to consult with a cardiologst.
Same here, I take aspirin, ticagrelor and rivaroxaban everyday after stent placement. These blood thinning medications especially aspirin affect the gastro intestinal tract. My doctor advised me to take antacid medications twice a day to counter this issue. It helped for 4-5 days, now again I have burning sensation in my tummy back again. I will wait for a few days and meet my cardiologist again. As of now I don't have a solution for this.
I have really bad GERD myself and had an upper GI that showed mild gastritis and esophagitis. It is a difficult problem. I also take ibuprofen at times for osteoarthritis inflammation in my jaws, etc., and that can be hard on my stomach. There are dietary measures one is supposed to take when you have GERD, like avoiding fried and fatty foods, avoiding spicy, black pepper, and citrus and other aggravating fruit, avoiding dairy and anything else that aggravates it.
I take Protonix to control my gerd. An allergist recommended this and it does seem to make a difference. Does anyone else take these types of meds to control their gerd and, ultimately, help with asthma? I cannot get Protonix any longer through my health insurance and was wondering if someone took something else as effective. Prilosec and Nexium do not have as good as effect as Protonix for me. Hi from what I understand protonix is an rx while prilosec is over the counter meds......
so I do believe that the protonix is stronger.I am not a dr, just going on what I do know, I know both r PPI and work much the same way.....Ur dr should be able to say y he changed ur meds...everyone is different and react to the meds differently....maybe bcuz the prilosec dtopped working instead of changing meds he should check to see y u r making so much acid.

A healing leg (just out of cast) prohibits stress testing and the dr said he wouldn’t get the results he wanted anyway. I take aspirin 325, plavix, 80mg lipitor, protonix (just to protect stomach), 10mg zetia, capoten 25mg 3x, imdur 60mg 2x. I did have high blood pressure (150+/80+ p90) but am now unexplainably low 80/60 p 60 while on same meds. My question is – what do I do now?. Could these new stents possibly be failing?
m not getting relief with chiropractic care or anything else for that matter, I started thinking about medication and side effects. The protonix s the only thing that could possibly be the culprit. I went off of it two days ago, took omaprazole instead, and have had a 50% reduction in the pain. Has anyone else experienced this. I am reluctant to mention it to the doctor because I'm afraid he will dismiss it. I want to be sure before I talk to him.
From time to time my eyes move from side to side, usually very quickly and only one time movement; however, there has been one episode of continual "twitching" that lasted for about 2-3 minutes creating blurred vision and dizziness. My MRI noted "several nonspecific T2/FLAIR hyperintensity foci in the subcortical white matter". Added to this is a internal vibration, almost like a cat's purring/motor running.

He has been to a gastroenterologist and recently saw an new endocrinologist. He recently had a colonoscopy, his DR. was very pleased with the condition of his colon. I thank God that I had an abdominal ulrasound and cat scan with and without IV contrast and all was clear. I was so afraid that I had pancreatic cancer. My Dr told me that the CT scan was the best test for the pancreas. I just get nervous because I still get a discomfort way up high under my breastboneand occasionaly in my back but my Dr said this could be acid reflux. My endescopy also showed that I have gastritis which I know is painful as well.
I have been using Protonix for almost a year now and it's worked great to help my Gastritis but I noticed something. Since taking it, my period comes later than it used to and for less time. I am a bit worried, is everything ok?
Had heart attack in Nov 08. Blocked artery. No idea I had it. Angioplasty and drug eluding stent. Put on Plavix, Aspirin, Coumadin, Simvastatin, Lisiniprol. Went through cardiac rehab for three months. Rehab went great. In best shape of my life. Then two months after heart attack, with one month to go in rehab, started to get terrible constriction in my throat - around my adams apple. Cardiac dr took me off Lisiniprol - said it was acid reflux - take some OTC zantac. I did that.
I have a very stressful job and used to eat ibuprofen like candy and now, I no longer take any aspirin, ibuprofen, etc. My ulcers seem to be under control because I have changed my diet. No more coffee, very limited alcohol, no spicy foods, no citrus, nothing that will produce acid. I don't want to have to take meds so I am trying to control this on my own and I think doing a pretty good job of it.
My best friend was just diagnosed with h. pylori and is having a lot of issues.
I have acid reflux and take protonix occassionally when needed...recently I had a bad scare where I suddenly starting gasping for air...I have had similar attacks in the past, but this one was major as I felt like I would stop gasping....There was no warning before the attack....It did subside...Is this common with acid reflux and what do I do when this happens? I did over indulge with food over the holidays...I am not over weight and I do exercise..
I started this the same time as my 2x daily protonix. After and during weight lifting it feels as though I cant breathe and have to sit down, then I belch for like 5 minutes. At the end it takes 2-3 hours before my stomach feels 'normal' again and I can actualy eat anything. I also have a hard time breathing due to this feeling of 'gas' in my upper stomach.
I have had two endoscopies done with them saying my z-line (sphincter muscle?) was abnormal.
s not only uncomfortable but embarrassing to be bloated and gassy almost every day. How long should I be on the Protonix, and should I be taking anything else to help ease the constipation? Before starting the Protonix I was fairly regular and my diet hasn't changed much, if at all, so I can't imagine any other reason for this. My doctor never indicated a length of time for taking it, he only listed refills on the bottle.
