Avatar m tn I have done my homework (as per the web). been to a load of doctors. I was "Cured" in 2000, have felt like everone else. My diagnoses after treatment etc. are MGUS, Proteinuria, and I have tried to find info into Cryoglobulins and RF factor to make sure I don't have Cryoglobulimia. Has anyone looked into this? Thank You.
Avatar m tn I have very high proteinuria, and from what I understand this causes serum albumin levels to decrease. Right now my level of proteinuria is around 3 to 4 grams a day, and my serum albumin is slightly high at around 5.3 g/dL. Typically how high can my proteinuria get before I see a noticeable drop in serum albumin? If you are wondering, I do not have dehydration. I drink over 3 liters of water a day.
483733 tn?1326798446 Have any of you suffered from swelling in your arms and legs but especially in the wrists, hands, ankles and feet (outside of the already very swollen abdomen)? I can actually feel them swelling up and they get oh so uncomfortable. I've not read that this is associated with cysts and fibroids but find it odd that this is happening now.
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? The presence of protein in urine (proteinuria) is due to failure of kidney to filter the body fluids. This can occur due to infections to the kidney, hypertension, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, nephrotic syndrome etc. Although a single measure of protein in a urine sample has less significance. I would suggest that you get a 24 hour urine collection and estimation of protein in that. This is a reliable method to assess the condition.
Avatar m tn You could drink more water to see if it goes away. Proteinuria is just one of the causes of foamy urine. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) (commonly prostatitis) and retrograde ejaculation are two common causes in men. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Is lupron depot birth control 3months shot 3.75mg causes proteinuria. Please advice I m 37yrs old and got left ovary n both fallopian tubes removed as per my gynecologist toke lupron depot 3.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I have always had bubbles in my urine, at least for the last 8 years. Recently I went to the doctor for a urinalysis because I read about the correlation between kidney disease and proteinuria. I'm unsure as to whether my bubbles are caused by protein. My test results indicated that no proteins were present in my urine specimen. My creatinine serum is 1.0. My GFR is 97.6 ml/min/1.73 msg. I'm wondering- will my GFR hold steady in the 90's?
Avatar f tn As long as one of the barriers is impaired or damaged, protein will leak into urine and thus form proteinuria. For people with Nephrotic Syndrome, large amounts of protein spill and into urine just because of damaged glomerular filtration membrane. Without effective charge barrier and mechanical barrier, glomerular filtration membrane can not stop protein passing through.
Avatar n tn You may have proteinuria. It just means that some of the proteins you've ingested are being pushed out of your body as waste. Well, you'll most always have some protein in your urine, as trace amounts of protein are excreted in your urine as part of normal urine production. The concern is when you have TOO MUCH protein in your urine. This is a symptom known as proteinuria. How can you tell when you have too much protein in your urine?
Avatar n tn i was very swollen too, but there is a chance you have preclampsia. Have you had your blood pressure checked in the last few days? I would try to see a Dr even if its costly preclampsia is very unsafe to have for you and the baby. Good luck hopefully you are just swollen.
Avatar m tn Why do you raise limbs for an infected wound? What does this do, and how long should the limb remain raised?
Avatar n tn Hello, There are a few possibilities in you case.First is diabetes mellitus.Pls get your blood sugar evaluated. These tingling sensations also called parasthesias, increased hunger, change in body weight and urination are common in diabetics.
Avatar m tn Persistently foamy urine can be a sign of protein in your urine (proteinuria), which requires further evaluation. Large amounts of protein in urine may indicate a serious kidney problem. In your case it appears to have been ruled out. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and retrograde ejaculation are 2 other possibilities. In men, the most common source of the infection is the prostate gland (prostatitis). Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
3175584 tn?1344299696 I had it but didn't find out til i went into labor. Headaches, vision problems, swelling, and high blood pressure are the signs. And i didn't have any signs that made me think i had it. My blood pressure was only slightly elevated and my feet were the only things swollen. I didn't have vision problems. another sign that i didn't know about was my liver was hurting. I just thought it was the baby in an uncomfortable position. but i find out it was actually my liver.
Avatar m tn I live a healthy lifestyle (regular exercise, healthy diet). One year ago it was discovered that I had proteinuria. I had proteinuria on 2 subsequent tests and on my 24 urinalysis. My GP consulted a nephrologist and was told to monitor bloodwork, urine and BP every 4 months for a year, then every 6 months and then yearly afterwards. Most recently, when I had my tests done and my eGFR is now 84, creatinine (urine) = 26.8 and ACR = 59.7.
Avatar f tn My left leg is swollen mainly around my knees. i work in a office and sit for about 8 hours can this be the cause?
Avatar n tn However, persistently foamy urine can be a sign of protein in your urine (proteinuria), which requires further evaluation. Large amounts of protein in urine may indicate a serious kidney problem. If you're concerned about foamy urine, consult your doctor. He or she may recommend a urine analysis, which can detect protein in urine. If protein is detected in your urine, your doctor likely will recommend additional tests to determine the cause.
Avatar m tn Don't worry about it unless/until the doctor says there's a problem. I'm not a doctor but he's probably testing you for postural proteinuria as opposed to persistent proteinuria. From what I've read apparently it's possible to have protein in your urine while standing up and none while you're lying down. It's supposed to be fairly common for young people to have and they normally outgrow it.
Avatar n tn ve also read that proteinuria can be caused by excessive stress, which this incident has caused me. Is that the most likely cause in your opinion? Forgive me if this question is driven by anxiety, but my wife and I are trying to have a baby and I want to be absolutely certain she is not at risk for anything, HIV or otherwise.
1527017 tn?1291671470 Proteinuria is the protein in the urine when it exceeds the level of 150 mg/day.Proteinuria can be checked for free proteins like protein C or particularly albumin.More proteins in the urine could indicate that the kidneys are failing.Proteinuria is not a disease but a symptom that indicates underlying pathology.Proteinuria may occur in association with other symptoms like hematuria, edema, hypertension, hypoalbuminemia, hypercholestrolemia, hyperlipemia, elevated serum creatinine and ASO.
Avatar n tn in addition, we found that NEP gene expression correlated inversely with proteinuria. In an additional 33 patients, glomerular and tubular NEP protein levels from renal graft biopsies were significantly higher among the 13 patients receiving cyclosporine + EC-MPS than among the 12 patients receiving cyclosporine + azathioprine or 8 patients receiving cyclosporine alone.
