Proteinuria home test

Common Questions and Answers about Proteinuria home test

protein

Avatar f tn Sorry if I posted this under the wrong topic, nothing else seemed to fit for my question.Anyway this morning I did a at home 10 panel urine test and it showed a trace of protein in my urine. My ph. was around 6.5 and everything else was negative or "normal".What I have found so far online is that stress can cause protein in the urine if there is no disease like kidney problems or diebetes, which I don't think I have.So is protein in the normal okay for me?
4503521 tn?1400858886 Having small amounts of protein in your urine is common in pregnancy. It can happen for a number of reasons. It probably just means that your kidneys are working harder now that you're pregnant. It could also mean that your body is fighting a minor infection. Your midwife may send a sample of your urine to the hospital to check if you have a urinary tract infection (UTI). If you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that is safe to take in pregnancy.
Avatar m tn I have very high proteinuria, and from what I understand this causes serum albumin levels to decrease. Right now my level of proteinuria is around 3 to 4 grams a day, and my serum albumin is slightly high at around 5.3 g/dL. Typically how high can my proteinuria get before I see a noticeable drop in serum albumin? If you are wondering, I do not have dehydration. I drink over 3 liters of water a day.
Avatar m tn I told my doctor and he did blood work and took a urine sample to check for protein. Both test came back normal. What could be causing the foamy urine. Its not the toilet, its the same in everyone that I use. Any one have any ideas what could be causing this ?
Avatar m tn Hi there, I have always had bubbles in my urine, at least for the last 8 years. Recently I went to the doctor for a urinalysis because I read about the correlation between kidney disease and proteinuria. I'm unsure as to whether my bubbles are caused by protein. My test results indicated that no proteins were present in my urine specimen. My creatinine serum is 1.0. My GFR is 97.6 ml/min/1.73 msg. I'm wondering- will my GFR hold steady in the 90's?
Avatar m tn if pus cells in urine microscopy exam 10-12 and the albumin strip test negative. Can I give a slight trace for albumin in my report due to the presence of pus cells?
Avatar f tn We have a lot of test and doctors visits coming up to try to sort all of this out.Yes,you should be evaluated soon as possible.I will post updates for you as they become available.
Avatar n tn You may have proteinuria. It just means that some of the proteins you've ingested are being pushed out of your body as waste. Well, you'll most always have some protein in your urine, as trace amounts of protein are excreted in your urine as part of normal urine production. The concern is when you have TOO MUCH protein in your urine. This is a symptom known as proteinuria. How can you tell when you have too much protein in your urine?
Avatar m tn Get all the paperwork done pass my asvab test. Wanted to start off my first couple of years with the MOS 11x infratry. The day comes we all go up to MEPS. Do some standard test get through about 75% of it. Time to pee in a cup check for drugs and the pH level. Pass the drug test and failed the pH level. Get sent home schedule to go again in 2 weeks go straight to pee again failed again. Alright they tell me something is wrong.
Avatar f tn Are you having any other symptoms such as swelling, proteinuria, headaches, blurred vision, and epigastric pain? Sounds like you should have still had the bloodwork to test for preeclampsia and a 24 hr urine. I'd say if you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, call your MD right away. If you have a way of checking your BP while at home that would be a good thing to do as well.
1527017 tn?1291671470 my doctor reported a urine protein level on my urine test as >1200. What does this mean?
Avatar n tn Hi i am 32 female i had a Hysterectomy a little over a year ago with many Complications i still have my Ovaries. anyway for tha past year i have had a many test s showing that my protein in my urine are very hi ? plus i get up through the nihgt to pee at least 4-6 times a night and about every 6 months i get a very strong urine smell but after all the test they still say there is nothing worng and my levels are not high enough yet to send me to a speacilist?
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? The presence of protein in urine (proteinuria) is due to failure of kidney to filter the body fluids. This can occur due to infections to the kidney, hypertension, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, nephrotic syndrome etc. Although a single measure of protein in a urine sample has less significance. I would suggest that you get a 24 hour urine collection and estimation of protein in that. This is a reliable method to assess the condition.
Avatar m tn Don't worry about it unless/until the doctor says there's a problem. I'm not a doctor but he's probably testing you for postural proteinuria as opposed to persistent proteinuria. From what I've read apparently it's possible to have protein in your urine while standing up and none while you're lying down. It's supposed to be fairly common for young people to have and they normally outgrow it.
Avatar m tn I had to go to a hospital for this test and they wrapped the test tube with an insulating material and rushed it off to their lab. My test results were slightly high (it was not a positive/negative result). I don't have the results in front of me, so I apologize that I cannot be more specific. Anyhow, I completed 12 weeks of Harvoni in June 2015 and a few weeks ago, the protein in my urine is down to 46 from 4700. I've not had any issues with edema since July. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I am 19 weeks pregnant - in the doctors office my BP measured high so they ordered a blood test and a urinalysis. Protein showed up high (286 mg). I have been measuring my BP regularly outside the doctors office and it has been totally normal (and continues to be) but the high protein is making me really nervous. Does this signal that I am developing preeclampsia? I had a very stressful week, could it just be an isolated incident?
Avatar f tn Is lupron depot birth control 3months shot 3.75mg causes proteinuria. Please advice I m 37yrs old and got left ovary n both fallopian tubes removed as per my gynecologist toke lupron depot 3.
1973666 tn?1325964688 I am concerned about protein in my urine. I am scheduled to see my doc in 2 weeks for a urine test. When i urinate into the toilet, sometimes I get bubbles sometimes I don't. Sometimes the bubble disappear immediately sometimes they are there for a few minutes, or maybe even longer. Bubbles are only on surface and never really build or tower-up where I am urinating. I ate a bowl of oatmeal this morning with a glass of filtered ice water, and a cup of coffee.
Avatar f tn every time I go to the doctors office almost always when they do a urine test it comes back with bacteria or protein in it. But when they send it off to a lab it shows all is fine. This has happened so many times and I have been prescribed medications for it so many times that I developed an allergic reaction to one. Why would this thing happen with my urine so everytime? Also it happens no matter if I use mid stream or not.
Avatar f tn According to your test results, your kidney disease has been CKD3-4, how much is your proteinuria, and how much is creatinine?
Avatar n tn 12/7 saw her regular doctor who looked at ER report and said there was still a slight uti. When I got home I looked at ER urinalysis report the high values are as follows: Bilirubin- H LARGE Protein H 500mg/dl urobilinogen - 8.0 Nitrite- H Positive Mucus- 2+ Her blood showed her creat. To be normal 0 7 CL ( not sure what lab this is?
Avatar f tn s urine 3 days after the first test, keep it in the refridgerator for the day and bring it in to his office when they opened at 5PM to have it sent to a lab to be re-checked. This result was also 2+. We were called into the office and advised that my son has proteinuria and that he has to get further tests in both his urine and blood and then most likely see a kidney specialist and possibly have a renal biopsy done. Of course, I'm very concerned over this.
Avatar f tn His blood and urine was tested and came back normal apart from slight proteinuria and elevated ESR.
