protein

Avatar f tn The other result is the Myelin basic Protein. This is a protein that is released in larger amounts when there has been damage to nerves in the CNS, such as MS, but also in a lot of other disorders, expecially infections. So WNV could be a culprit there. Also I don't know if that level is elevated. The WNV really does complicate the picture, expecially since you don't know exactly when you had it.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Had every test known to mankind. All negative except the protein synthesis with electrofusion, they are doing a bone marrow check in weds. Everything else was fine.. Full blood and smear done. Any ideas? Feel like rap all the time. Terrible back pain, ear ringing.
Avatar f tn But during the 2000 attack when the 10X higher than lab normal Igg synthesis and index came up what is very interesting and matches with your point is for the first time, (and these tests were done all around the same month) I had white matter lesions and having a good neurologist, he looked at them himself. He showed them to me, where they were on the scans and listed what different things they could represent and crossed off all the mimics that had been ruled out.

Avatar n tn Why was it suggested? Who suggested it to you? This supplement seems like it's designed for bodybuilders. It's not regulated by the FDA, so a pharmacist may not have information on contraindications. Still, a call to your Copaxone pharmacy as well as your PCP are in order.
1312898 tn?1314568133 It takes a few weeks to get the results, not because it takes a few weeks to run the actual test, but that it takes time for the specimen to get to the lab, for the lab to process and test the specimen, and for the doctor to get the result. Now I don't know exactly how they test for the oligoclonal bands, I just know that it is most likely being referred to a reference lab. I know for a fact drs offices do not do the test, and most hospitals don't.
Avatar m tn Expression of one of these proteins (2’5’ oligo A synthase) results in activation of the second of these proteins (a ribonuclease) which can break down mRNA, and expression of the third protein (a protein kinase) results in inhibition of the initiation step of protein synthesis. These activities target viral protein synthesis, but also result in inhibition of host protein synthesis.
Avatar f tn I went to a private lab Jan 2014 and thats when I finally had the TGab done because no other doctor would run it.

Avatar n tn Would be great to see actual results of the Free T3 test along with the lab ranges. Also have you had any antibody tests done? If so, what were the results, along with the lab ranges......... Also, with the excessive thirst, I have to ask if you've been checked for diabetes?
Avatar f tn Can someone give some guidance in reading the lab report I've received for my CSF results? I understand that the CSF shows O-Bands but I don't really know what all of the other stuff means! I also thought the blood work would show the mylein basic protein results, but I dont' see anything marked below that indicates that... Can someone help with this?? Not being sick though! Should I be worried? Doctors on Wednesday! I'm 35+5!
Avatar f tn it has been identified as a cofactor in enzymatic reactions involving energy metabolism and protein and nucleic acid synthesis. Magnesium can help prevent and treat migraine and cluster headaches Magnesium is far safer, cheaper, and often more effective than many expensive drugs with side-effect prescribe to migraine sufferers. Diarrhea is one side effect of magnesium intake.
Avatar m tn I have started training for gaining muscles, but i am not sure if i should be using whey protein as i heard that if i stop working out later at some point in time, I will start putting on weight!!! Is this a side effect of taking whey protein and discontinuing its use??? Moreover, does intake of whey protein interfere with the blood tests done to check the thyroid profile? answers to these questions will be a great favor and highly appreciated.
