Avatar f tn 45. My daughter usually has a snack at 3:30, then eats dinner at 5:30 or 6 pm. On days that she doesn't have dance, she goes and works out at approximately 7 pm for thirty minutes(15 walking and 15 running). She also does these weight exercises,crunches, push ups, and stretches before and after her workout When she comes in, she has a bowl of Kashi cereal. She usually goes to bed anywhere from 10-11:30 pm.

Simply taking a few shakes a day to help get in your required protein will not harm you, but will be beneficial. But its better for you to take your doctors advice before you start taking your supplements.

The only people in most developed countries who get too little protein are vegans sometimes if they don't eat well and advanced bodybuilders. Most Americans get too much protein. The simple way to gain weight is to add a meal. Pretty easy. Eat the same healthy foods you usually eat, just eat more.

Avatar f tn Eat plenty of carbs before workout but don't go overboard. Don't eat carbs after 7pm or so. Eat about 1g of protein for every pound of body weight per day. Fish and lean meat have lots if protein. Protein shakes will help with bulk. Don't use creatine too much, it isn't too good for your heart :/ Of course eat minimal junk food and plenty of fruit and vegtables. There are also supliments called animal cuts you should check out. They're quite good.
Avatar f tn Right after my workout I drink a 50g protein shake and 15 minutes after that I have 100–150g of carbs via dextrose powder (I eat Twinkies, cookies, donuts,...) 9: One hour after my workout I will have my big solid meal, (whatever I want as long as it has a good amount of protein). 10: By this time I have consumed 100g of protein via shake and 40–60ish grams of protein via solid meal (depending on meal).

Avatar f tn I do not take any supplements other than whey protein shakes post workout. I have since switched to a vegetable-based protein shake. I have not really noticed a decrease in strength, although I have plateaued and haven't seen an increase in strength in over a year. I do notice while lifting weights now that the primary muscle that I am focusing on does not get a proper workout because the supporting muscles get tired fast.
Avatar m tn Well, I know you say you don't have time to get to the gym, but that is what will boost your appetite and help build the muscle you're looking for. Even if you can't do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.

If so Is there any special one i could take that would not bother my acid reflux. And btw the manuka honey is working for me better than any of the medications has ever done. Thank you for your time.

Avatar f tn That's an awful lot of protein... my doctor has me on a high protein diet, 108 grams/day and most days I can't make that, even with a couple of shakes. Are shakes and water all you plan to consume? If so, that's not good or sustainable. In addition, weight lost too and not in a healthy manner will most likely be regained as soon as you start eating normally again, even if maintaining a healthy diet.
Avatar m tn I do workout frequently and believe I see an increase / positive correlation in the mucous strands when I drinking protein shakes. Could this be secondary to slight dehydration? I also think I notice it more when I'm stooling. I've notice this for probably a year or so. Do you think I should be concerned. Could it be related in anyway to prostate issues?
