5606554 tn?1372445380 What mzkity suggested was the main thing that kept me on my first treatment as I was also losing to much weight... I felt like a kid in a candy shop after my doctor recommended shakes with protein powder... Hang in there.
11587059 tn?1427628263 In the first and most of second trimester I lost 30 pounds. Now at 24 weeks I'm able to eat a lot and keep it in. Yay I know. But I am still losing weight! No matter what I eat or drink I cannot gain weight. I weigh all of 102 pounds and look like I'm not even pregnant. Anyone else have this problem?? Any tips? Maybe there's some I have not tried. I've tried ensure, protein shakes, protein powder, weight gaining shakes, I'm on bedrest so I can't exercise at all.
Avatar m tn s the medication making you not eat. You should eat foods high in protein. I would not go the protein shake route. Have you tried drinking boost or ensure shakes after eating your meals? These will help give you the vitamins and protein you need and they are not the texture of protein shakes.
Avatar n tn Actually, the shake is neutral on both aspects. The totality of the diet determines the usefulness of the shake, though obviously some shakes are much more healthful than others.
4744855 tn?1358656623 hi I recently went to my doctor for losing weight from the depo shot and they suggested I try taking ensure protein shakes I would love to try them but I don't know if im gonna like it and if its really gonna work did anybody try ensure protein shakes and if they did let me know if it works and if it taste good
Avatar m tn I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
973741 tn?1342342773 What is the current thinking of protein drinks for weight loss? Are there any good ones? Do you think that they can work to use for meal replacement, say breakfast, maybe lunch and then eat a normal dinner? Pros? Cons?
1251152 tn?1269602844 Your appetite will come back. Just make sure you are getting plenty of liquids and try protein shakes (GNC). They are packed with goodness and are easier to deal with than solid food early on. There will come a day soon when you will devour a large pizza and all will be well. Keep fighting...
Avatar f tn Drinking protein shakes is really good for this. I had the same problem and they make them for weight gain.
1269982 tn?1271173219 Also certain brands of protein shakes actually have a high level of carbohydrates in them which could result in your weight gain. I suggest you cut out the protein shakes for a fortnight and keep up the cardio and also try to get some time on a treadmill as they are very effective in losing weight.
Avatar f tn You can try meal replacements shakes like Optifast for healthy and safe weight loss. Its a protein rich diet that keeps a check on food craving . You can lose upto 2-4 lbs every week with Optifast weight loss program.
Avatar f tn There is a difference in protein meal replacement shakes and ensure... You just have to read. Ensure will be best should try luna bars their for women and it has protein and vitamins. Target sells them.
7390706 tn?1403042270 Do any of you ladies know if it's fine to drink protein shakes while pregnant. . I'm 23 weeks.
Avatar f tn Try making your own with peanut butter, nuts, avocado or other protein boosters.yogurt, milk or almond milk as protein sources. I wouldn't buy protein powders as you don't actually know what is in them besides what is listed like arsenic, lead, mercury. leafy greens are good sources of folate, a key nutrient that helps prevent neural tube defects. Making shakes with fruits and vegetables can also help you reach your dietary fiber intake goals during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn My ob told me its normal to lose weight in the beginning because i was the same way i lost so much weight but i started gaining it back around my 18th week im 32 weeks now
Avatar f tn Hi and Welcome! Please excuse my tardy response. I've been on vacation. Remar has offer some great suggestions, as always. We have a member (Namnam) that has experienced the same side effect to Fentanyl - weight loss. Luckily she claimed she had weight to lose. It did level off and she didn't continue to lose weight. In time you may have experienced the same results. I think she's been on Fentanyl for about 5 years. It's the only thing that controls her pain.
203342 tn?1328737207 s why I was mainly wondering about going on liquids for awhile, just to give my system a break, more than for weight loss. I do know it's better to eat healthy, etc., and I do try to do that. I don't eat fried foods (I really feel sick after eating them if I do!), I don't eat white bread, etc. I like whole grains breads and rice, etc. but everything is bothering my stomach anymore! I did buy a juicer and was wondering about trying that.
Avatar f tn I still drink protein shakes, not to loose weight, but for extra calories & all the other good stuff in them, lol
973741 tn?1342342773 I went through a period some years ago, during which my doctor had me drinking protein shakes for breakfast, then, at least one more during the day. I did this for about 6 months and consistently kept gaining weight. I was getting the protein powder from my doctor, so assumed it was "healthy"... yeah!! No - when I really started researching ingredients, I found it had tons of sugar in it, so no wonder I gained weight on it.
Avatar f tn total daily calories should not be less than 1,000 to 1,200 for women and 1,200 to 1,600 for men. Weight loss is different for each person and should be continued until a person reaches a target body mass index, or BMI (ask your provider about how to obtain this measurement.) Meal replacements, such as shakes, bars and ready-to-mix powders that match these guidelines can be helpful for some people.
Avatar f tn t cut it. Protein shakes or ensure sounds like another goof idea. Real food is always better but at least you can get some good nutrients in and stave off hunger and dizziness and sickness with the bars or shakes. Good luck.
4592444 tn?1362029703 I started my pregnancy weighing about 110. Now I'm down below 95 at 21 weeks. I am really concerned about the weight loss, and I'm drinking protein shakes and trying to put some weight back on. But my problem right now is that I have lost all fat to protect my body when I am sitting or laying down, and it hurts so bad. I can't sit for very long at all, and trying to sleep is even worse. Has anyone had this problem? Is there any medication I can't take to make the pain go away?
Avatar f tn 1. Water yourself 2. Halve at it - Divide your normal portion by two and save the rest for later. 3. Go meatless 4. Go vegan 5. Get fresh 6. Diet 2 days a week 7. Not so sweet 8. Cut the flour 9. Replace alcoholic beverages with water 10.
Avatar f tn s not good or sustainable. In addition, weight lost too and not in a healthy manner will most likely be regained as soon as you start eating normally again, even if maintaining a healthy diet. Sorry - thought it would let you choose which nutrients to track, but it only gives a list of the ones that are tracked... I think it used to let you choose, but they changed it... anyway, protein is on that list, so you should be tracking it, when you enter food data.
Avatar m tn Try liproxenol. I've tried it and it helped so much in my weight loss. Didn't experience any side effects either.
Avatar f tn Whey protein itself is generally good for pregnant women, however ready made protein shakes can contain additives and preservatives that aren't so good for momma and/or baby.
Avatar f tn Weight loss is normal in the first trimester. You can drink ensure shakes, however I'd stay away from whey or casein protein powder until you ask your Dr.
