protein shakes after running

I keep some Slim Fast shakes (or sometimes a store brand) in the fridge for those times when I don't have time for breakfast or just something quick. They come in several flavors and served ice cold, they are quite tasty.

Do any of you ladies use protein powder for protein shakes? If so, which kind do you use? I bought the chocolate Special K brand protein shake but after reading the label more carefully I am not sure this is safe to drink. I was hoping to find a premade protein shake or a powder that mixes easily with chocolate milk. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I had some skin reaction after a time using protein shakes. The same as I can see on other guys at gym. Skin spots on the back and at base of the neck.

I was thinking of starting working out again after a long time and I was wondering weather using Protein shakes could have any adverse affects on my acid reflux? If so Is there any special one i could take that would not bother my acid reflux. And btw the manuka honey is working for me better than any of the medications has ever done. I drank whey protein shakes with my son. He is healthy as can be at 3 and he was able to hold his head up since birth and roll over from back to stomach at 2 weeks old. The Dr said it was due to his muscle mass and protein is good for developing muscle.

There is a difference in protein meal replacement shakes and ensure... You just have to read. Ensure will be best should try luna bars their for women and it has protein and vitamins. Target sells them.

So i havent been able to really eat meat so ive been drinking protein shakes the one ive been drinking is Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein and was wondering if anyone knows if this is okay to take.

one thing I found that helped me was whey protein shakes its loaded with vitamin as well as essential amino acids along with the protein all of witch the brain needs to heal...you can pick up a 2lb can up at walmart for 15 bucks the chocolate flavor is good you just mix it with milk give that a try I recommend it to everyone that detoxes especially from methadone or sub....

I'm a 16 year old male. My high school track season is over, now I'm running summer track. I'm in the 2nd week of practice and this past week directly after every practice I get severe headache and it feels like I'm almost completely out of it. The worst part is this is very dangerous because after practice I have to drive home. I try to wait till the headache goes down but its not possible with the way the sun is beaming.

You have no reason to be drinking protein shakes at all. Walking isn't an exercise that requires additional protein, so you're just adding useless calories. Most Americans eat too much protein, not too little. If you were working out with resistance training, a shake might help put on muscle quicker, but if you're trying to lose weight, there's absolutely no purpose in protein shakes. And when you say non-fat foods, what do you mean?

Have you tried drinking boost or ensure shakes after eating your meals? These will help give you the vitamins and protein you need and they are not the texture of protein shakes.

You can make protein shakes an add different stuff to them like if you get vanilla protein you can add fruit to it which is yummy or chocolate protein an add peanut butter an banana
