483733 tn?1326798446 All wines contain sulfites, because yeast naturally produces sulfite compounds during the fermentation process, and without sulfites, wine would spoil and oxidize. White wine has more sulfites than red wine. I feel that alone wine ingestion is not responsible for these swellings.A predisposing pathology has to be there. As you are a perimenopausal female,so the chances of arthritis are more likely. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep us posted if you want any more information.
Avatar m tn Good question. I am a red wine drinker and there are minute amounts of protein and only 1% carbs. No fats. I'd like to know too!
Avatar m tn I had Chinese food on Saturday and later that night I awoke to find my heart beat racing, could it be MSG or something else,Prior to the food I had 1.5 glasses of red wine and I went red in the face?is this normal .
Avatar m tn I am a female and almost always sneeze uncontrolably for a few minutes after finishing meals in restaurants. For a long time I thought it was the wine...but drinking wine with meals doesn noot cause me to sneeze at home. Now I wonder if there is some kind of preservative that most restaurants use that might be setting me off. Does anyone else have this problem? Or an idea? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/504215'>why does my boyfriend sneeze after eating?

1994552 tn?1327079184 Okay so here's the history - Ever since I was 15 I've had a stabbing pain my right abdomen. It gets so bad sometimes that I become incapable of walking. It only happens though when I consume certain food/drink however. But I don't know what is in these products that is causing this pain and irritation. I'm hoping a professional can help me here. No it is not appendicitis...I've been to the doctor about 15 times thinking it was, and in all cases wasn't.
Avatar m tn so in the end we will probably never meet this but it is better to be well prepared and know it in advance just in case, the good news on treatment is that some old diabetes drugs work on hbv liver cancer treatment/prevention also be always aware of this news just pubblished "Hepatitis B Grossly Under-Diagnosed and Untreated in the United States", so better to be well informed on our illness http://www.hbvadvocate.org/news/HBJ8.1.
Avatar n tn I have been living in a hostel for several months (privately owned) and everything was going pretty good until a new resident and his friend (who I believe is gay) decided to take revenge on me (together with another friend of theirs) because I drank a glass of wine from a bottle belonging to the first guy.
Avatar f tn I know this may be a stupid question, but my boyfriends mom made this for and it had wine in it. I did not know of this until after I ate it. Will this harm my baby? It was cooking for 3 hours.
Avatar f tn These are well within the normal ranges. Then I read something about the ratio and I’m in a group that shows “likely cirrhosis” stated by the “AST Ratio calculator.” I’m just off eliquis for a DVT that has been resolved but further tests showed that I have slightly elevated ferritin levels and ULN total protein. Doctor is checking for primary Hemochromatosis. If it’s not that it could be secondary - which would be another red flag pointing towards cirrhosis.
Avatar f tn Supposedly it is good for mom bc it helps with aches and pains and sleep and whatnot, but not to exceed that glass a night. And I even read a study saying that the antioxidants in wine can be good for baby, but once again as long as you dont exceed that one glass.

Avatar n tn Minor hepatic insufficiency responds not unfavorably to unadulterated dry white table wine. The tannin content and the mild antiseptic properties of wine make it valuable in the treatment of intestinal colic, mucous colitis, spastic constipation, diarrhea and many infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.”—Wine as Food and Medicine, pp. 5, 58.
86075 tn?1238115091 We rarely eat fast food, like Lady L mostly when traveling, would rather eat a sandwhich! Also it's rare I eat frozen food, I have always like to cook so like to make things fresh and simple. But dang if today I made a plan to go store and get some frozen stuff, I am not into cooking at all right now! Need food! I like pizza and everynow and then something like a cheese burger! I think or have always though all things in moderation, except alcohol!

8408613 tn?1414894692 So I went to the hospital the other night and they told me there was 30 mg of protein in my urine. Is that a lot?? I had to do the 24 hour pee test and they are checking me for pre eclampsia.
8408613 tn?1414894692 Wondering the same thing here. They been telling me I've had protein in my urine for about 3 months now.
Avatar f tn I have high levels of protein in my urine @ 35 weeks. anyone else? what has your doctor told you about it?
Avatar f tn I am a ftm due in July and have already been in the hospital once for contractions, I was kept overnight. Well today I was looking at my urine results from my appointment today. It showed I have 1+ for urine protein & trace for urine leukocyte esterase. My doctors nurse called me to discuss what it means but I missed the call. Help!! Has anyone else had this? I read it can be a sign of preclampseia!
Avatar f tn But he said there was protein in my urine so now I have to take the 24 hours urine test. Any thoughts on actually having preclampsia without having high blood pressure. I haven't changed in dilation or effacing at all since last week.
10314769 tn?1409238579 I am almost 38 weeks. My urine has been good until now where there showed a trace of protein in my urine. My doctor hasn't called me to tell me anything, I found out by seeing the results online. I'm guessing they are not worried and will just speak to me at my next week's appointment. I have also lost 6 pounds since last week. What is going on!
Avatar f tn Pre eclampsia means my body is not producing enough blood for whatever reason which is making my liver and kidneys over work so my body is not absorbing protein. High protein in urine can be extremely dangerous for me and baby. Causing seizures or other heart problems. My protein is border line which means they caught it early. A sign of it is high BP which is how they knew to test my urine.
Avatar f tn What's the difference between a trace of protein and 1+ protein? 2 seperate tests - one was 1+ 2+ 3+ the other was trace 3++ etc. A few weeks ago at my obs apt I had 1+ and ongoing since my last test strip. Well today at the regular docs I tested and it was a totally different dipstick which only read trace. Do they even out to be the se reading?
Avatar f tn I'm 29 weeks my doc said I had protein in my urine what does that mean, my blood pressure and everything else is fine my next appointment is in 2 weeks
