10314769 tn?1409238579 I had a trace of protein in my urine and the Dr wasn't worried at all she said as long as its just a trace, its not a big, sometimes that happens from skin particles around ur vagina. They are only worried if they find a specific amount but she said a trace isn't anything to be worried about.they found a trace of protein when I was 36 weeks I'm 38 weeks now and just went to the Dr today and baby is healthy with no issues.
Avatar f tn What's the difference between a trace of protein and 1+ protein? 2 seperate tests - one was 1+ 2+ 3+ the other was trace 3++ etc. A few weeks ago at my obs apt I had 1+ and ongoing since my last test strip. Well today at the regular docs I tested and it was a totally different dipstick which only read trace. Do they even out to be the se reading?
Avatar f tn I went to my check up today, im 9 weeks 6 days and nurse took a urine sample and dipped the little stick in it and said i had a trace of protein.. Is it normal to have this early? Anybody experience this?

Avatar f tn At the doctor yesterday, they found a trace amount of protein in my urine. I hadn't eaten any protein, but I have another appointment on the 10th when they will check again. The doctor wasn't too concerned at this point. Anyway - I'm just curious if this has happened to any of you, and how did it turn out?
Avatar f tn I was to see my doctor today and had yet another dipstick test come back showing a trace amount of protein in my urine. This has been happening off and on for about 3 years now. This got me thinking. When I was a teenager about 15 years ago I had kidney stones that had to be blasted. And it has me thinking maybe theres something wrong with my kidneys or maybe the kidney stones caused some damage that result in the kidneys not functioning well. Is that possible?
Avatar f tn At my last midwife appt at 36wks I had protein in my urine but normal bp. I also get pain in my bladder when baby moves like a sharp shooting pain, but no other symtoms. Is it a urine infection or something else? Has anyone else had a urine infection in the third trimester? The midwife sent a urine sample to be tested but havnt had the results yet.
1025106 tn?1251861070 i was recently told by my doctor that there was trace protein in my urine. before this i had noticed bubbles in my urine that quickly disappear, could the trace protein be the cause of the bubbles? also i have had a long history of kidney stones could this be the cause of the trace protein in my urine? is this a serious sign of kidney damage that can lead to renal failure.? my doctor ordered a 24 hr urine and some blood teat, but my next appointment isn't until the end of the year.
Avatar f tn I am a ftm due in July and have already been in the hospital once for contractions, I was kept overnight. Well today I was looking at my urine results from my appointment today. It showed I have 1+ for urine protein & trace for urine leukocyte esterase. My doctors nurse called me to discuss what it means but I missed the call. Help!! Has anyone else had this? I read it can be a sign of preclampseia!
Avatar n tn Even a mild urine infection can cause traces of protein in the urine ie protein is found in blood and with a uti it is common to have a small amount of blood in the urine - hence trace of protein as well. have a urine test done to outrule infection and have your kidney function measured by a simple blood test ;) re the altter ie blood test, even one poor egfr can also be the result of a uti!!!!! you need to show a steady pattern of poor egfr to indicate ckd.
Avatar f tn My bp was slighty elevated and i had protein in my urine. Just keep an eye on your bp. Those were my only signs of pre eclampsia.
Avatar m tn Though the report is just a qualitative analysis ( which means it doesn’t tell us the exact amount of protein in the urine), 2 + protein in the urine is certainly high. You need to be investigated further with urine micralbumin and 24 hrs urine albumin (quantitative analysis). Both tests can be done in the laboratory. These tests would give us a clear idea about the quantity of protein in the urine.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have trace protein in their urine late in pregnancy? I'm 39+4. Just worried about developing gestational diabetes very late in pregnancy. Anyone ever here of this?
Avatar m tn how much protein do you show in your urine? protein in urine could be a sign of progressive kidney failure. i am going to be taking a 24 hr urine in October 2009, hopefully the news is good. as far as the benazepril 10mg i haven't had any side effects...one of the most common side effects with blood pressure pills is a cough that could appear at anytime. also it is a good idea to keep your blood pressure below 130/80. sorry i took so long to answer.
987242 tn?1335490770 gross hematuria (blood that you can see in the urine), and microscopic hematuria (blood that is only seen when the urine is examined under a microscope). Both types can have serious causes. Diagnostic tests that may be performed include Urinalysis, Urine culture, X-rays of the kidneys, Cystoscopy, IVP, Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan of the abdomen. My sincere advice would be to consult a urologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn My daughters test revealed a trace of protein in her urine. We're also looking for any signs of an autoimmune disease. What can cause protein in the urine and what does a "trace" signify?
4503521 tn?1400858886 Having small amounts of protein in your urine is common in pregnancy. It can happen for a number of reasons. It probably just means that your kidneys are working harder now that you're pregnant. It could also mean that your body is fighting a minor infection. Your midwife may send a sample of your urine to the hospital to check if you have a urinary tract infection (UTI). If you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that is safe to take in pregnancy.
Avatar n tn OK, so my Dr said my urinalysis came back with trace of ketones and protein in my urine. He said its probably not significant and should check it again another day. Can someone tell me how common or uncommon that is? I hadnt eatin like like 16 hours before hand, except for alittle something maybe 20 minutes before I gave the urine sample. Could this have caused it? I was really worried since I get cloudy urine after eating dairy, and only after dairy.
Avatar n tn Some protein is normal in the urine. A 24 hour estimation of protein loss in urine would be optimal to estimate the level of proteinuria. Conditions which can cause proteinuria are nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, dehydration, collagen vascular diseases, strenuous exercises, diabetes mellitus, infections, multiple myeloma etc. I would suggest that you repeat the urine analysis again and take the opinion of your urologist to rule out the conditions mentioned above.
Avatar n tn My 10 year old son has trace amounts of blood in his urine. We have had him tested twice in three weeks and it is still there. He has shown signs of lethargy and irritability as well. He was also treated with amox. for strep C. Should I be concerned regarding the trace amounts of blood in his urine, and what should we do at this point? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hello all, went and had a physical the other day, and showed trace amounts of blood, protein and ketones in urine. The doctor told me not to be concerned because this was only trace amounts. However, I was worried so went and seen my PCP, and she did urine and blood work. It showed that I did have blood in my urine(microscopic) and blood showed higher BUN, and creatine. I cant remember if she said anything about my GFR, because it was a blur.
Avatar f tn so I went to the doctor and she said I had protein in my urine.. it's a sign of preeclampsia.. I'm only 12w3d so it's early they haven't called me to tell me anything was wrong. does anyone else have this? if so could you give me some info on it please..it's really scary....
Avatar f tn Hello dr, Why I asked this question is ..........recently in my dept, i got an instruction to report protein in urine as trace even if the protein strip shows 'Nil'..... and urine microscopy shows even 10-12 pus cells........ now i want to know whether it is true ...... in all mild urinary infections renal involvement is there?...........or proteinuria occurs...... i hav done heat and acetic acid method to confirm it..........but didnt find anything............please help...
Avatar n tn I recently took a 24 hr urine test. I was told that I showed "some" protein in my urine and that the doctor would recommend me to an endocronologist. OK, should I be worried??!! What can cause this? Can it be treated? Is there a scale of the amount of protein one should have vs. not have? Could this also cause reproductive problems? I watch my diet and exercise. What could have brought this on? WHat steps should I now take to take charge of my health?
1108194 tn?1378424522 It is best to get a repeat test within a month. The common causes of protein in urine are a transient leakiness in the kidney’s membrane seen in fever, infection, etc. Transient proteinuria usually requires no special treatment. If your daughter is not having any symptoms suggestive of kidney disease do not worry. Get her retested. Keep me updated. Best luck and regards!
Avatar n tn I noticed after having 2 scoops of protein(40 grams), there was trace blood in my urine. So I started experimenting. My first void of the day contains no blood. After meals, and a single scoop of protein(20 grams), no blood. I can go all day with no blood. The 2 scoops of protein was a rare thing. But then I got some protein cookies that contains 37g protein. If I eat that, a bit of blood shows up again. Normally the kind where the dipstick pad stays orange but has a couple specks of green.
