Protein in urine lab values

Common Questions and Answers about Protein in urine lab values

protein

Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had normal lab values but over 500 protein in their urine? And Bilirubin was only slightly elevated. Normal creatinine levels no diabetes or high blood pressure, have had severe weight loss appetite loss and night sweats which is what I went in for (thought thyroid but was not!) Was referred to nephrologist, not sure what to expect. Thanks!
Avatar f tn You may also need 24 hours urine test, random protein to creatinine ratio to check the kidney status and a serum and urine protein electrophoresis test to determine which proteins are being excreted and in what quantities. Sometimes, some proteins will appear in the urine if the levels of protein in blood become high, even when the kidney is functioning properly. I suggest you to discuss these investigations with your urologist and get them done. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn My question is, are there any specific lab values that represent ascites and if the “causes” of ascites specifically are getting better? I understand the cirrhosis is the cause but are there certain LAB values that represent or can be used to judge ascites and see if the TIPS will perhaps work again?
Avatar f tn What I was wondering is why it would show on the doctors dip stick test but when the same urine is sent to the lab it would say there was no protein in it.
5889951 tn?1380316047 If you have protein in your urine but your blood pressure is normal, your sample will be sent to the lab for a culture to see whether you have a UTI.
Avatar f tn Low albumin levels can reflect diseases in which the kidneys cannot prevent albumin from leaking from the blood into the urine and being lost. In this case, the amount of albumin (or protein) in the urine also may be measured. Low albumin levels can also be seen in inflammation, shock, and malnutrition.
Avatar m tn Yes, bleeding can cause a drop in CBC values and once the bleeding stops these values improve. Low triglycerides with normal or high cholesterol can be due to poor eating habits, hyperthyroidism, malabsorption syndromes (including Crohn’s and most likely cause in your case), as a side effect of certain drugs (like nicotinic acid, clofibrate), etc.
Avatar m tn Greetings, Criatine .9, Bun 23, Protein Trace GFR >60. Current Symptoms: After I eat anything heavy (meat, salt, chicken, milk, etc) it feels like my lower back (flank areas) are burning (on the inside at the back). History: Last March, I had 2 successive CT Scans in Thailand with some sort of strong contrast media. They warned of possible kidney damage because the scans were 23 hours apart.
Avatar f tn How do you know protein is in your urine? The doctor should run tests to determine how much protein is in your urine and if there is need for concern he should let you know.
Avatar m tn org/posts/Liver-Transplant/High-lipase-and-amylase/show/1137759 Results An amylase test measures the amount of this enzyme in a sample of blood taken from a vein or in a sample of urine. Many conditions can change amylase levels. Your doctor will discuss any significant abnormal results with you in relation to your symptoms and past health. WebMD http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/amylase-17444?page=2 Results are normally available within 72 hours.
Avatar f tn I am also spilling protein in my urine. But if you are healthy and have no history of kidney disease or Diabetes, then something like you are reporting may be from a medication you are taking, or even the chemo. Some cancer treatment problems do go away after a while, but it may even be something like the tamoxifen, as usually kidney problems, or the abnormal blood values you mention are a direct toxic effect from a medication and i have read this numerous times on medication inserts.
Avatar n tn How many normal people have such high protein values. What conditions should be ruled out, what other tests can be done? How do I convince my doctor I'm not crazy?
Avatar m tn I have microscopic hematuria (blood in urine) which was first picked up in 2009. I had a cystoscopy in 2009 and a CT Urogram in 2012 which rules out sinister causes. The CT urogram also showed healthy kidneys, spleen, pancrease etc.. I had a water infection in January 2013 and passed visble hematuria e.g. red/brown urine. My blood tests in Janaury 2013 were as follows: Bun 13/mg/dl Creatinine 1.2 mg/dl Uric Acid 5.
Avatar f tn Went to hospital on weekend for swelling amd headache. Turned out everythings fine, but had protein in my urine, she said it's probably an infection and sent it to lab, turns out it isn't an infection, and I've been getting even more fuzzy mild headaches, now with a little nausea? Not being sick though! Should I be worried? Doctors on Wednesday! I'm 35+5!
Avatar m tn -Total Vol = 1700 ml - Urine Albumin (mg %) 13.00 - 24 Hrs Urine Albumin (mg) 221 { 0.
Avatar n tn t something to be worried about, but if your urine is consistently foamy you should have a test to see if protein is in your urine called a urine albumin test. If you are worried why don't you consult your endocronologist and see if he/she thinks it is cause for concern and possibly the urine albumin test.
