hormone

Avatar f tn The high testosterone could be causing the facial hair. Too much male hormone. Is there a decimal point missing in the TSH? Is it 1.97? Do you have a ref. range for bun/creat? A BUN/Creatinine ratio can help your health professional predict which conditions, such as dehydration, may be causing abnormal BUN and Creatinine levels and decreased kidney function. As for the normal values it depends on the age. For infants younger than 1 year the BUN/Creatinine ratio normally reaches up to 1:30.
Avatar f tn I have been on bioidentical hormone therapy for several years: estrogel 0.06% 2 pumps once daily and prometrium 200 mg. daily. My main symptoms for seeking treatment were severe hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia. These symptoms have subsided since being on hormone replacement therapy. I do not have access to individual dosage evaluation and preparation of these hormones. I know that it is best to take the lowest dosage that gives me relief of my symptoms to decrease my risks of cancer.
Avatar n tn I used folic acid and black cohosh for my symptoms. I really only had hot flashes and night sweats and using folic acid and black cohosh seemed to lessen the frequency and severity for me. This combination doesn't work for everybody. Check with your doctor before taking these supplements because they can intefer with some prescription medicines...especially for thyroid problems.
2121656 tn?1395674749 Also, if I could get some feedback on what my friends here think about such. Also, after reading the difference of being treated with pharmaceutial hormone replacement therapy vs. bio-idenitical hormone replacement therapy. I'm seriously thinking of going with the latter of the two. Is anyone receiving bio-idenitical hormone replacement? if so, is it working. Thank you for your feedback.
Avatar m tn Anyone have thoughts on promoting natural secretion of human growth hormone (hGH)?

Avatar f tn They told her it was most likely caused by hormone Re-alignment when she had the child. Maybe it would go away when she has another baby. In 1997 we had another baby and no change. Now nineteen years later the problem is worse than ever. She cannot do basic cleaning at home because she has to limit the number of times she washes her hands. She cannot even help with mowing because the gripping and vibration breaks her skin open.
Avatar n tn You really need more information. TSH is notoriously unreliable for much of anything although most Dr's seem to swear on this being the holy grail. You also really need to get tested for the FREE form of the thyroid hormones. If the lab report only shows T4 then it is for "total" and not FREE. There is a significant difference. The Free hormone is unattached and therefore "free" of a protein. Once a protein attaches itself to the hormone it becomes useless.

Avatar f tn I would say that there could be a relation yes, at least theoretically, but an endocrinologist would be able to answer this question correctly.
Avatar f tn hello, i was diagnosed with silent thyroiditis (not related to pregnancy/post-partum) months ago because i was hyperT for a few months and now i'm hypoT. i was put on 88mcg of synthroid 6 weeks ago because my free t3 and free t4 were low and my tsh was 55.86. my current labs are free t4 normal and tsh of 9.29. should my synthroid dosage be raised? and if normal thyroid function could spontaneously recover, how would my body know to do so if i'm on synthetic hormone?

Avatar n tn PCOS is a syndrome that affects your hormone and reproductive system. It's a condition. Women are diagnosed with it at all different times in their lives. Some people find out they have it when they are young. I was diagnosed in my 30s. It is not something you contract.
Avatar m tn What is 1300? If that is TSH. That would indicate that you have LOW thyroid. Or Hypo thyroid. TSH is a hormone that is telling your thyroid to turn on and produce thyroid hormone. So with such a high number your pituitary gland is BEGGING your thyroid to produce hormone. But apparently for whatever reason your thyroid is not hearing this or can not produce the hormone. You really need more blood tests to tell us more. First though, what symptoms are you having?
Avatar m tn It has been suggested that TDF-associated renal toxicity causes elevations in parathyroid hormone (17, 48). A lower eGFR is associated with parathyroid hormone elevations in both children and adults with early renal failure (38). While TDF use was associated with a decrease in eGFR and increase in parathyroid hormone, 1,25-OHD was higher in the TDF than in the no-TDF group. In patients with mild renal insufficiency, 1,25-OH(2)D decreases (38).
Avatar f tn if you masturbate too much then the reason is mainly too much protein in-take and too much sex hormone production. To control hormone reduce in take of such hormone producing food and reduce protein in take. As you are growing now you must take protein but do not take more than required for your age. Excess protein is not stored as it happens with fat or carbohydrates (starch or sugar). Hence too much protein induce sexual activities.
