Avatar f tn I am a new mom, I delivered my baby 4 months ago, I want to go on a diet but I am afraid thst will affect my baby because I am breast feeding her
Avatar f tn It's not good to purposely lose weight while pregnant. It keeps the baby from getting the nutrients it needs. If you eat right and healthy and go for walks it'll keep you from gaining so much weight. In some cases women do lose some weight but no more than couple lbs. You might wanna find a new doc if he was concerned about you AND baby He would of put you on a special diet. But he shouldn't be telling you to purposely lose weight.
Avatar f tn Jst wondering do subsequent babies have it also or is it luck of the draw?? Also should i avoid dairy etc in my diet while pregnant? (Im not pregnant yet) we are jst tryin to decide whether to try for no2 or wait if this allergy is facing us again!!!! Help!
Avatar f tn Healthy diet with plenty of healthy fats and protein. I had too many carbs while we were trying our second. Changed my diet to 30% fat, 30% protein, 40% carbs. Then we got pregnant immediately.
Avatar f tn Low carb, moderate protein, high (healthy) fat diet may work better for some than the traditional low fat diet. Reduce processed foods of all types. Regular exercise as well as building physical activity into your daily routine should also help. I also use intermittent fasting approach (restricting my eating into about an 8 hour period each day). This also helped a lot with managing my diabetes (I am lucky enough to be both hypothyroid and diabetic). Not easy, but doable, with much effort.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I am vegan and use a vegan protein powder to supplement 20 grams extra a day. So my total protein is about 75-80 grams (not 95g). I read that you can get too much growth hormone (which is good for building muscle) but it creates insulin like growth factor (ILGF). Too much ILGF can potentially cause cancer. So that is what I am asking. What has anyone read about this.
500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.
Avatar f tn no dont take that while your brest feeding what suppose he starts to lose weight or his bowel movement are out of control...DONT DO THAT!!! you want to lose weight change what your eating but dont take a diet pill what ever you take it goes through the breast milk...No dont you make me scared..change your diet...
Avatar f tn Just eat healthy as you normally would and remember to only add an extra 200-300 calories daily. Many women make the mistake of eating "for two" and that's not the best way to stay healthy. It's all about making sure you and your baby are getting the proper nutrients needed. Be sure to take prenatals. I managed to stay in good shape and I'm currently 36 weeks. I didn't exercise bc I wasn't extremely active prior to getting pregnant.
Avatar n tn A little while ago i had a nondiabetic doctor recommend a low carbohydrate diet to help keep my blood sugars low and when i mentioned it to my endocrinologist she said that that type of diet puts extra strain on the kidneys and since diabetics are already prone to kidney problems they should avoit it. i would recommend that at your next doctor appointment you ask to be referred to a dietician to go over the proper diet aspects for a diabetic.
Avatar f tn I'm 17 wks pregnant and I just looked at test results and my protein is 7.0 and I read that its high risk 3.0 and up, waiting for Dr to call but I'm worried can anyone explain this to me please.
4784361 tn?1401231107 Is it safe for me to be taking the diet pill Slimquick Pure while on a beta blocker for heart palpitations? I am a 21 year old female trying to lose weight while going through on and off stages of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. I picked up a bottle of SlimQuick today because I've heard some really good things about it, but I was reading the reviews and something got me to rethink my decision.
5009178 tn?1369953775 How far along were you when you first found out you were pregnant and did you immediately start eating better and following strict guidelines or did you eat normal and if Anyone has children already id like your opinion on dieting and how much it matters during the pregnancy!
Avatar f tn The safest way to lose weight while breastfeeding or any other time is by eating a healthy diet and getting a moderate amount of exercise. Sounds like a lemonade, maple syrup and cayenne pepper diet might be some kind of fad, that isn't good for you any time, let alone while breastfeeding - I suspect that cayenne pepper might come through the breast milk and affect the baby...
Avatar f tn Can I or can I not incorporate some protein shakes into my diet? Any reason to suspect that it would be harmful for the babe?
Avatar n tn I eat multivitamin pills and get a b-complex shot every week to make sure my body gets enough vitamins but I dont have a proper diet to follow so I can make sure I will lose my body fat in a healthy way while still gaining muscle from the workout routine. 1161604 tn?1388875598 I need help. I have just found out im pregnant. This will be baby number 3. Before I found out I was pregnant I was doing the tesco version if the slim fast diet. Obviously I won't be continuing it mainly due to the sugar in the shakes. My problem is im petrified of eating normally as I put weight on really easily. I know theres a big debate about whether its safe to diet in pregnancy but I need help on at least maintaining my weight and possibly losing some.
