1802952 tn?1315981161 I'm trying to find a good diet for me. The thing is I had my gallbladder taking out and I can't eat a lot of foods like I could before. Is there a good diet plan for someone who had their gallbladder taking out? Also, I'm a picky eater..LOL! I think that's why I do so bad on diets.

So I guess my question is how do you keep yourself going? Im the type that will go good for a week following the 'diet plan' and then slowly start loosing motivation....I know I shld keep focused but dam its hard...I know because I've tried all the diets the world offers..weight watches, sure slim, protein powders etc etc....
Avatar n tn You need to mix up your workouts weekly, otherwise your body gets used to them. Also, diet is more important than exercise. You can't outrun poor nutrition. CARB UP! Complex carbs are good for you--whole grains, sprouted grains, brown rice, etc... You need high carb pre-workout and high protein post workout.
Avatar f tn That's an awful lot of protein... my doctor has me on a high protein diet, 108 grams/day and most days I can't make that, even with a couple of shakes. Are shakes and water all you plan to consume? If so, that's not good or sustainable. In addition, weight lost too and not in a healthy manner will most likely be regained as soon as you start eating normally again, even if maintaining a healthy diet.

Avatar f tn m afraid my new diet plan is not helping. I now eat alot of fruits and veggie and only have one serving of meat a day (usually a chicken cutlet the size of my palm). I run almost every alternate day and cycle occasionally. The average distance I run each time is between 5km to 7km; sometimes 8km on a good day. I usually complete my 5km runs in 40-45 minutes. Do you think I need to increase my meat intake to build more muscles so I can burn off more fat?? Thank You.
Avatar m tn How advanced is your liver disease? If you have symptoms of decompensation (ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, varices, etc) then your diet is especially important. Eating protein is necessary but the research I've done on behalf of my husband says to eat more plant and dairy protein and less animal protein (particularly little or no red meat). No alcohol at all! It's like pouring kersosene on your liver. Drink lots of water also and limit your sugar intake.
Avatar f tn You should probably try to vary your diet so you don't get tired of it. Make sure you eat protein with every meal/snack because protein fills you up and keeps you fuller longer. Protein can be a meat, eggs, fish, nuts/nut butter, etc. Also, don't forget to eat some healthy fat every day. Fat helps you feel satisfied, so you aren't looking for food between meals.

Business woman1 This is just an addition to the protein comment. When I weigh people I make sure I evaluate their water weekly, with that protocol you can almost predict what the scale is going to read week per week. Take the scale out of the equation...just make sure you are on a plan that guarantees you see change..then the best evaluator is whether you are doing the plan or not..don't leave the interpretation to the scale!
Avatar n tn t have appendicitis after a few days, the doctor diagnosed my with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and just told me to eat healthier (low fat diet, more fiber). Fiber, starvation diets, and alcohol can also aggravate the gallblader (also a whole list of foods). When I complained more about the pain later, they suggested anti-depressants. Don't let them minimize your pain!
Avatar f tn Personally, I believe in a balanced diet with only a moderate amount of animal protein -- meaning complex carbs such as whole grains for stamina, enough protein but not overdoing it as it can help with short-term weight loss but isn't the healthiest way to eat long-term, and lots of different colored veggies. But diet is a variable thing -- the one you've listed might just be perfect for you provided it's not so low-calorie you're not getting sufficient nutrients.

I was doing the adkins plan before I got pregnant and then my doc gave me the greenlight but because i was off of it for so long, I started getting headaches real bad bc my body was trying to adjust so I decied to quit abd wait until after my baby comes. I dont wanna do anything to mess him up.

Avatar m tn Calculate your BMI and if you are lower than the lowest permissible for your weight and height you can start taking more protein in you diet. You can start the day in place of coffee with milk and protein supplements. Can have more eggs for breakfas. Increase the meat in your diet, soya, cheese, tofu, sprouts etc. Gaining weight by healthy food habits is recommended rather than deep fries, sweets, cholesterol, etc. Take care!
Avatar f tn So basically I struggle eating and would like to have a simple one off meal that's serves all my nutritional needs. I just forget to eat and because of this I'm underweight. Trying my best to put weight on but it's hard for me. So I came across homemade protien bars. made from oats,protien powder, peanut butter,almonds,milk, honey,chocolate, almonds and I decided to add in a multivitamin crushed into the flatjack mix. Isn't much fiber tho.
