Protein diet snacks

Common Questions and Answers about Protein diet snacks

protein

Avatar n tn You need to increase your protein intake to 50-60gms a day by increasing the soy milk to 3 cups a day, add nuts to your oatmeal each time and have a starch (either rice, bread, or pasta) with your beans so you get complete protein with your meals. Eat more raw fruits and vegetables. Eat them as snacks or add them to your salads with additional nuts. Fruits and vegetables give us the nutrients we need to keep our immune system and body healthy. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn If you don't think you're gaining enough you should try a supplement shake or drink....boost, enfimil or even carnation instant breakfast....they are all descent tasting and have many many flavors to choose from.
17593698 tn?1458185817 What works for me are snacks that are low in carbs and packed with protein and fat (mostly protein). Nuts are a good choice, just look for lower sodium options. Jerky and other dried meats are good as well. Also consider fresh fruit but beware tropical fruits (Mango, pineapple, papaya, etc.) these are particularly heavy on sugar relative to size. A small to medium sized banana or apple are always a good snack and don't spike your blood sugar.

Avatar f tn Also the diet should contain more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and protein and less of spaghetti, potato etc. I suggest you eat frequent small meals and stop counting calories. It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc). Drink plenty of water and non fattening fluids such as clear soups etc.
Avatar n tn Great snacks such as fruits, fruit juices, some protein bars, a glass of low fat milk, dried cramberries, jerky meat, dried bluberries, yogurts, raisins, almonds are good enough. But I would also suggest you snacks from the mesogeian diet (greek particulary) such as salad with tomato, cocumber, feta cheese, oregan olives and olive oil. Also, greek tacos which are basicly rusks with olive oil, sliced tomato oregan and feta cheese on the top WHICH is part of the Cretian dieting.

You might want to ask for a referral to a nutritionist to help you balance your diet out so you are getting enough food to satisfy your hunger (without raising your blood sugar).

Avatar n tn By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.

Avatar m tn I would suggest changing his diet. Have lots of lean protein and even have slightly under what his calorie intake would be normally. Mostly just saying that he can eat when he is hungry, but not over eat, even if it technically says he can have more according to his height and weight. Try that for a while, and if the problems continue, then go for the second opinion. good luck.
2186195 tn?1339430622 I saw the nutritionist and she gave me a diet to follow. she gave me ideas on what foods to eat, but basically said I can eat anything just watch the carbs. I am supposed to eat 30carbs for breakfast, 60carbs for lunch and dinner, and 3 snacks that are 30carbs each. I am to check my blood sugar 4 times a day, and it should stay between 60-90 in the morning and 90-120 all day. Well when I got my test results in the first place, i had just BARELY failed them by about 5-10 points or less.
