Avatar n tn Are you on a restricted diet? I'm on a high protein/high fat diet (Atkins revised diet). It's working for me to drop glucose and pounds. I hate working out so I go to low impact classes which are actually fun.

As long as you eat enough calories to keep yourself healthy, your baby will be fine. And don't forget to exercise every day. Now that spring is here, you can put your baby in her stroller and take a nice brisk walk every day.

Im not really loosing weight because i am not esting enough. So i was wondering if anyone knew any good sources of protien other than meat and recipes to go with it?
Avatar n tn What kind of working out? I mean, if you're eating a healthy diet now, eat more. If you're trying to put on muscle, you need protein, but don't need to overdo it. But again, if you're already eating well, just add a meal.

With exercise, in the beginning, I dropped about 5lbs per week. But that just depends on how much working out you do. I did an hour in the morning and an hour at night. Zumba.

Ive been working out everyday for about 6 months (minus the break day once a week) Ive seen muscle gain and toning but no added weight... im still 80 pounds! I workout a solid 30 minuets on my legs and usually try to eat more everyday. I drink a fruit smoothie everyday and after workouts i eat a peanut butter sandwich and oatmeal I just don't understand why im not gaining any weight.
Avatar m tn Keep consuming more calories than you expend, work out (lift weights as opposed to aerobic exercises) to stimulate muscle growth. A protein supplement may be a good idea, I use ON whey protein. Remember that alcohol hinders the liver from absorbing protein and other nutrients, and that smoking is an appetite suppressant. Beyond this, if you have a very fast metabolism, you can get that checked out & take something to counter that. You may also be a natural ectomorph.
Avatar m tn sometimes i take whole wheat peanut butter sandwich, or ham sandwich, almonds, apples, protein shake, oatmeal bars. or foods with high fiber. I take protein bars too but they can be expensive throughout time, so i made my own.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I am vegan and use a vegan protein powder to supplement 20 grams extra a day. So my total protein is about 75-80 grams (not 95g). I read that you can get too much growth hormone (which is good for building muscle) but it creates insulin like growth factor (ILGF). Too much ILGF can potentially cause cancer. So that is what I am asking. What has anyone read about this.
Avatar n tn s a long odd answer. High protein diets have not been proven to be effective for long-term weight loss. They can work short-term, but the body needs those complex carbs for energy. There are several years-long studies going on studying actual human beings and those who live the longest and have the least obesity live mostly on carbs. So there goes that theory. Calories are not the real key to weight loss, as the long post correctly shows.
Avatar n tn definetly eat a very high calorie protein diet if your looking to build nuscle not fat then i recomend working out your muscle and afterwards drinking a protein shake with things like milk,peanut butter, and banana make sure your eating healthy fats and lots of protein
Avatar f tn Eat less calories than you burn. Have protein rich diet and low carb diet. Protein is important for optimal fat burning rate. It help to control hunger and make you feel full for longer. Avoid soda, dietry fat and sugar.

Avatar f tn I'm a student and have been for years, and I got used to eating a student diet which was all I could afford (mostly carbs and starch, and low protein...in the last couple tears I've been getting more veggies than I used to). My biggest challenge since I've been pregnant is increasing my protein. I'm supposed to be getting 100 grams of protein a day, which I'm totally not, even though I have greatly increased my intake. Before pregnancy I was getting about 15 grams a day.

My a1 has gone from 7.1to 10.5 in the past two mths . My bs. Was 2751hr. After a small meal of all protein so I took 20unts novalog 2hrs later it was 380 took 25more cked it a he later it's 460 .

Some studies indicate it is good and some say its unhealthy. Unhealthy protein supplements especially whey is from cow's given growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics and etc. The healthy one is organic and cold processed and that is promoted as best.
Avatar f tn I know it's not a magic pill, I am eating way less than before and better but just not losing weight. I know some people get an actual list of foods to eat from their doctor but all I was told was to eat my normal food just less of it. I work out 6days a week something I didn't do 2months ago and still not losing weight with exercise either. If anybody knows of something else I could do or try please let me know.
